Kenmore Construction Widens 5.6-Mi. Stretch of I-76 By Irwin Rapoport CEG CORRESPONDENT
Crews from Kenmore Construction Inc. are widening a 5.6-mi. stretch of Interstate 76 from two lanes to three lanes in each direction between SR 21 and Central Avenue. The $87.6 million project began last August, and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) project should be completed in July, 2019. The work — a design build project, in the area of the cities of Norton and Barberton, also includes pavement replacement on I- 76 between the Medina County line and SR 21 and the re-decking of twin bridges on I-76 over SR 261 in Medina County. The project is being funded by ODOT Major Rehabilitation. The 2016 work saw Kenmore complete in 2016 the widening of the median portion of I-76 from State Street to SR 21, and the benchmarks for 2017 includes the replacement and widening of I-76 westbound pavement from State Street to SR 21 and the replacement of the Cleveland Massillon Road bridge over I-76 and the replacement of I76 westbound bridges over Wolf Creek, Barber Road and SR 261. he Nursery Growers of Lake County Ohio Inc. (NGLCO) held its 50th Annual Summer Field Days event on Aug. 8 in Madison, Ohio, at the Chalet Debonne Vineyards. With more than 175 acres of vines, the vineyards are Ohio’s largest estate winery. Designed to keep association members up to date on the latest information on techniques and innovations in the field of nursery industry, the Annual Summer Field Days event offers an informal setting providing excellent opportunities to network and the exchange of ideas among those attending.
