Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group have teamed up with 25 design, construction, engineering and consulting firms to create Hudson Yards.

Hudson Yards is the largest private real estate development in the history of the United States and the largest development in New York City since Rockefeller Center. When completed in 2025, 125,000 people a day will work in, visit or call Hudson Yards their home. The site will include more than 17 million sq. ft. (1.5 million sq m) of commercial and residential space; more than 100 shops; a collection of restaurants; approximately 4,000 residences; The Shed, a new center for artistic invention; 14 acres of public open space; a 750-seat public school; and an Equinox- branded luxury hotel with more

than 200 rooms. The Yards is touted as offering “unparalleled amenities” to residents, employees and guests, and creating 23,000 construction jobs. To complete the 28-acre Hudson Yards devel-

Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced that the Commonwealth has selected Express Mobility Partners to build express lanes on I-66 Outside the Beltway, following a 16-month procurement process. Express Mobility Partners, a consortium of Cintra, Meridiam, Ferrovial Agroman U.S. and Allan Myers VA Inc., will finance, design, build, maintain and operate the project under the Public-Private Transportation

Act. “This project will transform travel in the I-66 corridor and pave the way for additional multimodal options that will reduce congestion and commute times,” said McAuliffe. “Both teams that submitted bids for this project met the criteria the Commonwealth set for it, but Express Mobility Partners’ proposal was the best for Virginia from both a technical and financial

standpoint.” The selection is the culmination of the first major procurement process to follow Virginia’s reformed Public-Private Partnership (P3) process, which was designed by the McAuliffe administration and the General Assembly to increase competition, accountability and transparency in P3 projects after several high profile see EXPRESS page 140

The second phase of a quarry replacement project in Carroll County, Md., which involves the installation of the longest continuous curved conveyor ever to be installed in the state, is nearing completion. The private project for an undisclosed

dollar amount is for Lehigh Cement Company LLC. The company is currently replacing its Union Bridge Quarry with a greenfield quarry expansion in the neighboring town of New Windsor.
