Yonkers Rebuilds Bronx River Parkway Spans Built in 1951, the Bronx River Parkway Bridges are ready for a complete tear down. The bridges have become a choke point for passengers who are traveling the Bronx River Parkway. The new bridges will rise in the footprint of the old ones as a roomier, more modern, safer version of the old. They will rise 30 ft. above the busy thoroughfares of Morris Park Avenue and East 180th. The cost of the project will be approximately $517 million, with the completed bridge delivered in 2029. Yonkers Contracting has handled complicated bridge builds like this one before. Anthony Sarvaideo is the project manager of the Yonkers Contracting team for this complex staged project. His construction team plans to demo northbound lanes of the bridge to build new northbound spans. The workers will shift traffic, then demo the southbound lanes for a rebuild of southbound lanes. Finally, the team will demolish the existing bridge that runs between the current bridge spans. Not Letting the Train Leave

States Rapidly Financing Local, Regional Transit Projects Transit is a crucial element of the nation’s total infrastructure investment. In fact, AGC believes highway and transit construction offsets weakness in private construction segments. That’s why the association is pushing Congress to finish its work on renewing the surface transportation bill before its September expiration. But many states aren’t waiting on federal funds and instead are moving forward with transit projects that will have regional benefits.
