This November will see O&G Industries Inc. and Tutor Perini Corporation JV complete contract E of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program. This project involves reconstructing the I-95/I91/Route 34 interchange to accommodate lanes from the new Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge (Q-Bridge) in New Haven, Conn., and improve interstate travel. The $357 million project extends 1 mi. (1.6 km) along I-95 from the western project limit at Interchange 46 (Sargent/Long Wharf Drive) to the eastern project limit at approximately East Street, and 3,500 ft. (1,067 m)

The project is being funded by the Federal Highway Administration (90 percent) and the state (10 percent). “The reconstruction will provide three travel lanes on I-95 through the Interchange with the elimination of the left lane exit and entrance ramps and provide a two-lane connection to I-91,” stated the web page for the project. “Included in the reconstruction are 21 new or modified bridges and twenty one retaining walls.
