There are a few favorite family stories that Mary DePrete tells about her father Frank Skurka. Frank Skurka, grandfather of David Skurka, owner of Skurka Construction of West Warwick, founded one of the first excavation and construction businesses in Pawtuxet Valley, R.I., in 1938.
