As part of its commitment to bridge preservation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is rehabilitating the Chestnut Street bridge over the Schuylkill River, connecting Center City Philadelphia with University City and West Philadelphia. The $103 million project also will replace the decks of three adjacent Chestnut Street bridges, two

viaducts on Schuylkill Avenue and two ramp structures for I-76, as well as resurface and install bicycle facilities on Chestnut Street between 31st Street and 22nd Street. “To see all the progress being made week-toweek during the early stages of construction is a real credit to the hard work and dedication of PennDOT staff, consultants, contractors, stakeholders and the city of Philadelphia, whose partnership on this project has been invaluable since early in the design process,” said Brad Rudolph,
