Sandvik Offers Enhanced Three-Deck Doublescreen Solution
Sandvik Mobile Crushers and Screens’ new QA452 is the latest evolution of the Sandvik QA Series products and 3-deck Doublescreen technology.
Sandvik Doublescreen technology typically outperforms traditional screens by up to 30 percent offering a tailored rock processing solution for quarry, recycling and mining industries, according to the manufacturer.
With a host of new innovations, Sandvik has engineered the first of its kind, three-deck tracked mobile plant with independent screen angle adjustment and hydraulic screen separation.
Featuring two triple deck inline screen boxes with equal size screen decks, each providing 100 sq. ft of screening area.
More Productivity
Screen enhancements include an 11 percent longer bottom screen deck to extract more fines. Featuring independent screen angle adjustment, the primary screen can be independently adjusted from the secondary screen, allowing operators to optimize their throughput, screening efficiency and product gradations.
The primary screen performs as a fines extractor, while the secondary screen performs as a grader. Two processes on one plant, offering exceptional flexibility, excellent separation, accurate grading and massive throughput, according to the manufacturer. More Sustainability
Sandvik offer hybrid “e” drive with electric plug-in, which means you can choose your most economical and efficient energy source. The QA452 provides a lower environmental impact due to reduced fuel consumption and the latest powerpack onboard offers less operating noise and low emissions. In addition, the hydraulic system has been enhanced to reduce energy wastage, and its hydraulic oil change intervals have been extended from 2000-4000 hours meaning up to 50 percent less hydraulic oil is consumed over 10,000 hours of machine usage (subject to oil sampling). More Flexibility
The primary screen also can be hydraulically separated to gain better access for maintenance and screen media changes. The addition of a new oversize cross conveyor means greater oversize material extraction. This cross conveyor also can be reversed, to allow the plant to function like a two-deck screen with oversize and mid overs discharged together.
Each screen deck features end tension screen media using Sandvik’s mesh tensioning system. This means faster screen mesh tensioning and removal when you need uptime. The new range of Sandvik WX rubber media combines the high accuracy of wire screens, but with the durability of rubber offering up to 10x longer wear life* and up to 50 percent faster installation time compared to wire mesh*, according to the manufacturer. (*Test results and calculations are to be considered as results reached under certain and controlled conditions. These test results and calculations should not be

Having equal size panels also means the screen media is interchangeable between decks. More Connectivity The QA452 comes with Sandvik’s My Fleet telemetry system and 7-year data subscription as standard. This offers 24/7 fleet management, geo-fencing and remote support. More Safety Features Sandvik has included several features as standard to improve operator and onsite protection. Dust suppression spray bars, onboard water pump, safety pull cords and lighting mast are now fitted as standard for extra peace of mind. For more information, visit rockprocessing.sandvik.

With a capacity of 11,000 gpm, the new A2500 is CDE’s largest and most advanced water management system to date.
CDE, a supplier of wet processing solutions for the natural processing and waste recycling sectors, has revealed its new AquaCycle A2500 thickener, the latest addition to its water management and recycling systems.
With a capacity of 11,000 gpm, the new A2500 is CDE’s largest and most advanced water management system to date.
It has been developed in response to calls from materials processors operating in high tonnage markets for water management solutions equipped to supply their operations with sufficient water supplies while ensuring optimal production efficiency, minimum loss of fines and maximum water recycling.
Darren Eastwood, business development director of the Americas at CDE, said, “It is increasingly important for materials processors to invest in an effective water management system that ensures a steady supply of clean water to their plants through costeffective means.
“The continued advancement of our pioneering wet processing solutions and leading-edge water management systems is supporting operators working in the natural processing and waste recycling sectors worldwide to overcome the challenges of washing in water-pressured or water scarce areas today.”
Where CDE bridged the gap in 2018 with the launch of its A900 and A1500, providing a median alternative to its 2,642 gpm and 6,604 gpm models, the new A2500 expands the range with a 11,000 gpm option to fit the requirements of sites processing high tonnages. The increased capacity also provides a lower rise rate, enabling operators to process challenging, harder to settle materials, according to the company.
Designed for easy use and safe access for efficient maintenance, it boasts the first lattice bridge structure on any CDE thickener. An integrated monorail also provides enhanced access to the motorized rake, gearbox and motor. With a sludge capacity of 138 tons/hour, the A2500 includes an adjustable rake lifting mechanism. Featuring passive torque control, the automatic raise and start sequence is designed to protect rakes from surge pressure from dense sludges. The rake itself also has been reimagined, with optimally spaced and redesigned blades for improved sludge conditioning. Powered by the motorized rake arm, the introduction of a new floating scum scraper, which is independent of the rake’s height, allows for the easy removal of unwanted foam, oil and light weight trash. And, creating even radial flow to all regions of the A2500, a redesigned volute feedwell optimizes the incoming flow for improved flocculant performance. Another key feature of the new A2500 is its feed height. Sitting at almost 22 ft, it simplifies upstream plant design complexity as it eliminates the need for expensive civils, helping to expedite the commissioning process of entire plant solutions. With a tank diameter of 65.6 ft and a weight of 97 tons when empty and 1,268 tons when full, the A2500 features a small footprint while packing a punchy 11,000 gpm and a solids capacity of 138 tons/hour. An alternative to water extraction from natural sources and the costly process of pumping water to the plant, CDE’s A2500, like the full AquaCycle range, significantly reduces costly water consumption by ensuring up to 90 percent of process water is recycled for immediate recirculation, according to the company.

Belt Winder Will Improve Turnaround Times for RMS Aggregate Customers
The production and efficiency of an aggregate spread relies on the constant production of all its equipment — when one element fails, it brings the entire operation to a halt. Getting your equipment back up and running is paramount to profitability.
Road Machinery & Supplies Co. understands this, which is why it recently purchased a belt winder for its Savage, Minn., warehouse. This addition allows RMS to purchase belting in bulk, giving it the ability to meet customer demand quicker and easier.
“Conveyor belt sales have been growing over the past three years, and we were using third-party vendors to try and meet demand. However, we felt there was an opportunity to be more competitive if we had more product on-hand,” said Tom Burrows, PSSR manager. “We analyzed the potential revenue and margin growth potential by seeking volume purchasing discounts and having belting in-house. Now we have the ability to deliver belting to our customers without relying on a third-party vendor.”
In addition to the winder, RMS designed and ordered custom belt stands along with a measuring and splicing table. The stands allow for safe storage and transport of the stock belting. The table allows for safe and ergonomic measuring, skiving, splicing and cutting of the belt ends.
“The goal was to give RMS the ability to have one person handle the belting and take it from a 1,000-foot slab to the requested length the customer orders,” said Burrows. “We chose to initially stock the most common belt widths — 24 to 60 inches — based on our historical belt sales. We recently placed our first true ‘container order’ for two full containers, which will have the more heavy-duty belting that ranges in width from 36 to 60 inches.
“Having this in our operation is going to allow us to fill orders faster and be much more competitive in pricing. That will be a major asset to us and our customers.”
