UK clients made e the greatest proportion of bookings covering 55% of the market with other European clien clients combined taking 14%.

The UK clients also topped the bookings in Switzerland and with 49% of the market share,, a drop of 5% on last season. The he other ot European countries followed with 20 20%, an increase of 6% on last season and the USA proportion of the bookings also increased from 8% to 17%.

The Russian bookings fell by half to 7%, but the Australian share remained fairly consistent. The Other segment comprises of ASIA and Ukraine bookings ings which are new for this season. The prior season had bookings from South Af Africa and the Middle East which were not repeated this time. .

The majority ajority of clients booked in the fourth quar quarter ter of 2015 with the remaining bookings spread more evenly across the other periods. This follows the same pattern as the prior year, however this season achieved a higher percentage of bookings in the fourth quarter. quarter

As in the prior season, the price of the booking was the most influential factor for clients, closely followed by the resort they required. Notable changes from the prior season were Service moving from sixth position to fourth position, emphasizing the perceived value of good service, and Facilities falling from the fourth position to the seventh position. .

The profile of the person responsible ffor or booking the holiday was predominantly male, with a small minority using their PAs PA to make the booking. This remains relatively unchanged from prior season.

More than half of all bookings were made by the 40 40-60 60 years old age group with the majority of the remaining bookings made in the 20 20-40 age group.

Only 10% of bookings were made by the 60+ age group. These proportions are relatively ely in line with the percentage split reported from the prior season.

THE AVERAG E SIZE OF GROUP BOOKING DURING 2015/16

The average group size was 8 with 73% of groups reportedly remaining the same size as last year, The 2014/2015 season reported that 13% of bookings increased in size, this trend continued this season with 17% increasing in size. The proportion of bookings decreasing in size remained the same as the prior season with 10% decreasing in size.

An overwhelming majority of clients used a scheduled airline to travel to their destination. The proportion travelling by Private Jet and Helicopter both decreased on the prior season by 3% and 1% respectively. The proportion Self Driving increased from 7% to 12%.

Private ski guides were the main source ce of expenditure in resorts followed by Group Ski School School,, this remains consistent with the prior season. The only real change from the prior season is an increase in Childcare expenditure offset by a decrease in expenditure on Massages.

It was reported in the 2014/2015 season that the snowfall had a negative impact on 58% % of the bookings, this season this fell to only 42%. The snowfall had No Impact on 46% of bookings which is a big increase on the 30% reported in the prior season. It had a positive impact on only 12% of the booking bookings, s, consistent with the prior season.

Val d’Isère remained the resort of choice in France with 30% of the votes. Méribel’s ’s percentage share has increased by 2% since the prior season with Courchevel’s ’s proportion decreasing by the same percentage. Morzine remained the third most popular resort increasing its proportion to 5% more votes than Chamonix. Votes for Megeve and Tignes both decreased by 2%. .

Verbier was reported the most popular resort, resort but with 3% less of the votes in comparison with the prior season. Zermatt remained in second position with a similar proportion to the prior season.

Gstaad remained third, but wi with th an increase of 2% of the votes. votes New resorts appearing in the top 5 for th this is season were the resorts of Andermatt, Veysonnaz and Engelberg. .
