We must partner with one another to create the solutions we need now.
I believe that conscious entrepreneurship is the greatest personal development journey in which you can possibly participate. On this journey, there is no place to hide from the patterns of beliefs and behaviors that do not align with your dreams and desires.
also understand that it is our energy that truly connects us to our work and to one another. We also recognize that in order to create the world we want to live in, we must partner with one another to create the solutions we need now.
When you attempt to build your life and your business based on the opinions of others, instead of listening to your own heart, you begin to compartmentalize, determining which part of you belongs and which part of you is pushed to the side.
I am grateful for all the connections, feedback, and encouragement I receive from the contributors of this magazine. I hope that you will connect with those with whom you feel a resonance and get to know them at a deeper level so that you can learn how to support them. I hope that you will connect with those whom you resonate with and get to know them at a deeper level, so that you can learn how to support them.
The more you compartmentalize, the harder it becomes to connect and create collaboratively. You judge yourself harshly, hoping to uncover your own imperfections before someone else does. You see, we live in the same world as our traditional counterparts, but we see it differently. We know that while systems are necessary for growth, we

a new generation of employees and customers are seeking Purpose The groundswell toward businesses moving from purely profit-driven to purpose-driven has been decades in the making. The rise of conscious capitalism, social impact, and the B Corp movement has given business owners new ways to think about their benefit to society and the planet. At the same time, a new generation of employees and customers are seeking Purpose from the brands they support and the places they work. Some businesses think doing good for people or the planet involves making a donation and ticking a box – that’s philanthropy. While there’s a place for it, it’s time to move beyond corporate philanthropy, ESG (environmental, social and governance) or CSR (corporate social responsibility). Instead, companies need to be a Force For Good, existing for reasons beyond just making a profit with a clearly defined Higher Purpose. This Purpose then needs to be fully embedded in the DNA and operations of your business. Here’s how
Your Higher Purpose is the WHY behind what you do. 6
you can get started on your company’s Purpose journey: Why Purpose is Critical for Business Owners Your customers, employees, and community are seeking connections with your business more than ever before. They’re seeking companies that share similar values, make a positive difference, and take a stand on important causes. Millennials (the first digitally savvy generation) and Gen Z (who don’t know life before the internet) are plugged into the issues plaguing the world, with social media keeping it top of mind. They will make up 75% of the workforce in the next couple of years; they are smart, aware of world issues and care about making a difference personally and professionally. The same goes for the new Gen Alpha who will be entering the workforce and econo-
my in droves in the years to come. Purpose is critical to engage and attract these new generations of loyal customers and great employees – they are your present and future internal and external stakeholders. Purpose matters to them, so it’s time to consider this as a foundational piece of your business to future-proof your company. It’s no longer enough to just make a great product or offer a fantastic service. Your new customers and younger employees also want you to authentically take a stand on issues. For instance, Ben & Jerry’s have always spoken out on racial injustice, so their support of Black Lives Matter was genuine and their followers knew it. The Top Five Bottom Line Benefits: 1. Purpose is your company’s north star, providing clear direction in good times and bad, helping to future-proof your company. 2. Companies with a high sense of Purpose are more profitable, experiencing a brand valuation increase of 175% over the past 12 years (Kantar Purpose 2020 study). 3. Purpose helps establish trust and fills your pipeline with customers who feel connected to you. Give your customers a reason to buy from you
and support you. In turn, your revenues will increase! 4. Purpose gives your employees meaning and motivation leading to more engaged happier staff. Reduce your onboarding costs, experience easier acquisition and better employee retention. 5. Purpose creates brand differentiation, increases exposure and visibility and helps you stand out as a purpose-driven company and impact leader in your industry. Finding Higher Purpose Your Higher Purpose is the WHY behind what you do, beyond making money. It’s your company’s North Star - provides clarity and direction, informs your business decisions and allows your business to stay on track even when challenges arise. Your Higher Purpose includes the cause or issue you feel impassioned to help solve, your ‘rally cry’ that engages your customers and stakeholders, and motivates your employees. It’s more than a mission statement on the wall or website, or a declaration of your business’ values. When done right, everyone who comes in contact with your business knows what you stand for, they see it and feel it. We find that many business owners have difficulty envisioning the impact they want to make. While ‘picking’ a cause for the sake of choosing based on a passing fad or movement might be tempting, it’s the wrong approach, because it’s not authentic or meaning-
ful and doesn’t represent the WHY of the company. The cause or issue you support must be authentic and meaningful to you, the business owner. Other companies have difficulty connecting the issue they feel passionate about to their business. A great framework to get your head and heart around the big issues of the world (and your community) are the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Take some time to understand them and
how they relate to your community. Where does your higher Purpose, greater good, and things you feel impassioned to solve, crossover with the SDG’s? Use the umbrella analogy to break it down: Think of the bigger SDG or cause as top of the umbrella. Think of the many contributing factors of the issue, as the ribs of the umbrella. Then narrow down until you find the part of the cause that resonates and one your

business can champion for the long haul. If you only exist to make money and haven’t thought about how your company can benefit society or the planet, these questions can help you get started: • When you look around your community or the world, what makes you mad or sad? • What’s the issue that comes to mind if you think, “someone needs to solve that thing and the world would be a better place”? • If your products or services don’t directly relate to solving that issue, is there a way to innovate to connect the two? • If you’re a new company, are you going into business with the specific desire to solve a world or community issue? • What SDG does your chosen issue relate to? Getting your head and heart wrapped around the issue is easier when you understand the elements of the related SDG. We’re pleased so many companies care deeply about making an impact. Once you know the Higher Purpose and the greater good you want to have, then it’s time to fully embed it into the DNA of the business by:

Challenge Yourself Consciously to Grow Exponentially Sainoor Premji 9
The cornerstone of life is that, if you never try you will never know. Since time immemorial, challenges have shaped the success of humankind. The way we are today – civilized, modern, educated, privileged, and well-substantiated - is a direct result of the success that our ancestors achieved by overcoming the stone-age challenges. Right from the inception of humanity, when our challenges were met with the creation of hunting tools, formation of settlements, and planting the seeds of agriculture, we have come a long way to the modern times of spiritual coaches, self-development mentors, and mystic ‘gurus.’ Today, our biggest challenge is to manage the overwhelming stress of this overly connected world. So, no matter how far we have come in the timeline of evolution, instead of relieving ourselves of challenges, our challenges themselves have evolved and become more progressive. To understand this unique connection humanity has with challenges, we need to understand one fundamental truth – without challenges, humankind does not have any context: the context of relevance and not just reality, the context of existence and not just survival, the context of living and not just breathing, the context of progressing and not staying stagnant, the context of fulfillment and not just satisfaction. The profound context of your consciousness, awareness, and self-being have all got their knots tied into the conundrum of challenge.
What is simply meant by ‘challenge,’ is that you need to understand your circumstances, your situation, your current condition, and then push your limits to get the best result out of those three settings. And this is not at all restricted to your economic or social well-being. It also involves how you challenge your thoughts, your perspective on things, your feelings, and your emotions. Imagine the life of a frog living at the bottom of a well. All its life, if it were to experience the same air, the same water, the same walls, and the same white glimpse of life hanging from above, it would have died a death, and not a single leaf of a tree on this earth would have shredded a teardrop. On the other hand, if the same frog took up the challenge to climb up the well, it would have eventually jumped its way to freedom with newfound knowledge of how to not give up on trying when you are failing again and again, how to tackle the wet stones when climbing up, how to not let go at the very last moment, how to be patient, and how magical the other world actually is.
Imagine the number of wonderful and enriching experiences this frog will then have around so many trees, water bodies, monsoons, and fallen leaves. This is the power of challenging yourself. Once you start doing it, you will be surprised to see what you can achieve through it. The intrinsic nature of most people is that, they want the comfortable and secure life of the frog stuck in the well, yet at the same time, they want to rejoice and relish in the freedom and excitement of life that the escaped frog is experiencing. For instance, an entrepreneur might visualize how wonderful it would be to expand the business along a new venture but at the same time, feel doubtful about stepping out of their expert domain. It’s all too natural for us to encounter people stuck at their boring nine-to-five jobs, simply because they are scared to take up the challenge of following their passion. Being an entrepreneur, why will you consciously fall into the trap of the or-

a challenge, and not getting shaken by failure, is a challenge because, in the end, you and your business will experience, learn, and grow to write your own history. If you stop challenging yourself, your business will lose touch with the market and your brand’s relevance will be as cold as an old gravestone. Since our history is all built on how we overcome various challenges, you shouldn’t shy away from them in your present circumstances. In fact, you should practice the art of challenging yourself so that progressing never stops, learning never stops. dinary, who are afraid to take up the challenge to change? The cornerstone of life is that, if you never try you will never know. When you challenge yourself consciously, you allow yourself to grow; grow in terms of learning, grow in terms of gaining knowledge, grow in terms of expanding your understanding, grow in terms of broadening your horizon, grow in terms of values, and grow in terms of gathering divergent experiences. With every new challenge, there comes a new lesson and an immersive learning curve. This is why our biggest challenge of today is not to manage but simply eliminate this unmanageable stress and anxiety that seems to stem from every aspect of our lives. When there is a replete of choices and options on our side, we get easily fazed by what others are doing, how others are perceiving us, why we are not as successful as them, and why we are not getting what we want. So, the challenge is to stay calm, focus on your individual happiness, needs, wants, and feel fulfilled from within. Since each of us has a separate exis-
11
tential identity on this planet, it’s important that we do not start comparing each other’s challenges, which is an unhealthy part of human nature that must be challenged at its very roots. Instead of getting distracted or bogged down by what others are doing or saying, the solitary challenge is to look within yourself and find that one thing that makes you complete from within and go after that. This will help you stay determined and unwavering in your journey and no matter what obstacle springs up, you will definitely reach your destination. As an entrepreneur, you have already put immense importance on your vision, courage, and belief. So, now when you are faced with adversity, you should take up the challenge as an opportunity and not shy away from it. So, don’t come to a halt on this courageous path of journey. As we know challenges never stop, they just evolve. Therefore, if today you find something challenging, always give it a try. Even if you fail, you will come out as a gainer, gaining knowledge of that particular risk, how it failed, and what could be done in the future if the same situation arises. In the world of entrepreneurship, not giving up is a challenge, giving it a try, is
Just by attempting a challenge, you will see how you have matured in life. Live a life of fulfillment, be aware of your circumstances, and start challenging yourself consciously and mindfully, if you want to grow exponentially!

often affects is the perception of financial management. Many conscious entrepreneurs undermine the importance of understanding their financials. They might rely on subpar bookkeeping or even neglect it altogether, assuming that financial management isn’t vital to their mission-driven work. However, the truth is that sound financial management is the backbone of sustainable business growth. Making decisions based on inaccurate financial data or no data at all can lead to disastrous outcomes. You might unknowingly overspend, invest in ventures that don’t align with your values, or miss out on opportunities for growth.
Imposter syndrome, that persistent feeling of inadequacy despite evidence of success. It can have a profound impact on your financial journey as a conscious entrepreneur. It’s not just about feeling a lack of confidence; it can shape your decisions, your investments, and even how you perceive your own financial standing. One notable effect of imposter syndrome is the comparison game. As a conscious entrepreneur striving for success while staying true to your values, you might find yourself comparing your financial progress with others’. But here’s the catch: these comparisons can often be misleading. Many individuals who appear financially successful might actually be swimming in debt, putting on a facade of prosperity without the substance to back it up. When you measure your financial success against such false indicators, imposter syndrome can reinforce the belief that you’re falling short.
13
Moreover, imposter syndrome can make you reluctant to seek financial help. You might believe that others have it all figured out, that you’re the only one struggling to grasp your financials. This fear of being exposed as financially inexperienced can lead to costly mistakes. You might avoid seeking financial advice or investment opportunities, missing out on chances that could greatly benefit your business’s profitability. The Cost of Neglecting Financial Management
For instance, consider the entrepreneur who dismisses bookkeeping as unimportant. As time goes on, their business may thrive, but without accurate financial records, they might not notice their profit margins shrinking. Eventually, they find themselves in financial turmoil, wondering how their success took such a sudden downturn. This situation is a result of underestimating the significance of proper financial management, a tendency that imposter syndrome can amplify. Overcoming Imposter Syndrome for Financial Success So, how can conscious entrepreneurs overcome imposter syndrome to drive financial success and profitability?
One aspect that imposter syndrome

and the better we get at it, it becomes second nature and we don’t have to think about our every function to make things happen. When you drive your car, you don’t have to think that your foot needs to push down on the accelerator to move ahead, or that you need to step on the brake to come to a stop. Those actions have become engrained in your subconscious mind to the point that they become automatic. This is what happens when athletes practice the same movements over and over. When the time comes, the movement happens automatically.
The zone is where we experience a trance that is performance-enhancing Perhaps you have found yourself engaged in a task such as something on the computer and looked up to discover that it is the middle of the night, and you have no idea where the time went. Because you became so engrossed in what you were doing, you became oblivious to the rest of the world. Not only did you lose track of time, but you may have forgotten to eat or let the dog out. This is an example of being in the zone that most of us have experienced at some time. There are many zones that we can enter. We often think of this term in association with athletes, such as golfers, basketball players, and so forth when they are achieving a high level of proficiency. However, musicians, writers, artists, and just about anyone can find their way into the zone. When I write about the zone, this is the same state that Mihaly Csikszent-
16
mihalyi refers to as Flow in his book entitled, Flow (The Psychology of Optimal Experience). What is the zone? Being in the zone is a trance state (hypnosis), but not all trance states are about being in the zone. You can be in a trance state while watching your home burn to the ground, or while you are shooting down the hill of a rollercoaster, or while in a coma, but these trances are not about being in the zone. The zone is about a particular kind of trance. The zone is where we experience a trance that is performance-enhancing, productive, focused, creative, and exhibiting high levels of skill. The zone at its best is expressing passion and experiencing joy. Getting into the zone does require skill. The more we practice our craft
Before we become highly skilled at something we are in a zone, we might call it the novice zone. This is when we are trying to find the notes on the saxophone and a lot of noise which has little resemblance to music comes out. How many mistakes did you make in typing class, until your fingers began to find their way around the keys? The novice zone contains frustrations, failures, trial and error, but it is a zone we must go through to become skilled and proficient. In hypnosis, we have what we refer to as uptime trance and downtime trance. Downtime trance is the trance that the client is likely experiencing. The client can sit back and relax and enjoy the process. At the same time, the therapist is in uptime trance, which means the hypnotist goes into a trance as well, but it is a trance that allows the therapist to manage the session and perform all the functions necessary to facilitate the session. I tell my students that they are not likely to experience an uptime trance anytime soon. The student therapist is busy sticking to a protocol, paying attention to their language while being a bit nervous that the instructor is watching over their shoulder. In time, as their skill level builds and they practice and become comfortable with the process, they will be able to enter uptime trance.
Focus In hypnosis, focused concentration or focused awareness are terms that we use to describe the process of hypnosis. Things that we experience in hypnosis are not atypical of our normal experiences but seem that way because hypnosis tends to exaggerate things. Examining a flower through the macro lens of your camera gives a much different visual experience than is typical. This is a simile for what is experienced in hypnosis or in the zone. I used to think of concentration as some fretful, demand, (with smoke coming out of the ears) for some sort of intelligent solution. The truth is that concentration should be a relaxed experience. This gives us greater access to the subconscious mind and long-term memory, along with greater creativity. While focused awareness is very important to what I do and to be in the zone, there is a flip side to that. While we experience focused awareness, we are also experiencing diminished awareness, or narrowing of awareness, which is referring to the fact that while experiencing focused concentration on one thing, we become oblivious to other less relevant sensory input. You may have had this sort of experience if you have ever become fixated so intently on a
TV show that you didn’t notice that dinner was going up in flames on the stove. This is also what we refer to as being zoned out. This is what happened when you were working on the computer and lost track of time and your level of hunger.
Don’t swim across the ocean and finally give up at the shoreline.
What is The Entrepreneurial Zone? If you are just now starting on your journey you may not have found yourself entering the zone. However, there is the planning and dreaming stage when heading on your journey which is a zone. That zone is dripping with excitement, enthusiasm, and possibilities. This is a great and productive zone to be in, even though it may not be close to the final product or producing income. Do not, however, allow yourself to become stuck in this zone. It can feel good to just stay in that dreamy, speculative state, where in your mind you are greatly successful, winning awards, and achieving notoriety. That is a safe, feel-good place that we need to experience, but we must move into action from there and that’s when it gets more real, and scary. If your endeavor includes focus, passion, purpose, skill, and serves your soul, you will be spending time in the zone.
The Dreaded Plateau The plateau occurs when progress seems to have come to a halt. Athletes experience the plateau when they are no longer setting records, or moving past previous performances. Writers experience writer’s block. People on a diet often find themselves stuck at the same old weight, and some are no longer moving ahead in business as they expected. These folks have reached a plateau. In his book, Mastery, George Leonard addresses this phenomenon. His writing is more focused on athletic performance, but it applies to all areas. He refers to the plateau as a sort of energy restoration period (my words). The plateau is where a lot of people throw in the towel. However, if one is to ride out the plateau, one will experience a surge. Athletes who have experienced the plateau went on to set records and this is true in all areas. If you find yourself on a plateau, hang in there, and change things up. Don’t as my wife would say, “drown on shore.” Meaning don’t swim across the ocean and finally give up at the shoreline. In the end, if you pursue your passion with joy, practice focused awareness, ride out any plateaus, and build your skill level until you engrain your actions into your subconscious mind, then perhaps I will meet you in the zone. Enhancing your Business with Energy Lucy Spencer

Color is a power which directly influences the soul In physics, it’s well known that every object consists of vibrating particles of energy. That includes us humans, who can even intuitively pick up on and interpret the energy around us. Now put this into a business context. It’s possible to impact the way things are going in your business when you have some knowledge of how energy works. Welcome to energy tools. The energy tools I’m referring to are a form of communication on a subconscious level. If you think about it, much of the way we traditionally communicate is nonverbal. Only 7% of the meaning we communicate is verbal, with the majority being shared via tone and body language. We naturally interpret the meaning of these nonverbal items based on previous knowledge. A similar mode of interpretation can be applied to the energy tools of colours, numbers, symbols and sounds. Colours are often the most easily accepted energy tool. Colourology, the scientific study of colours, has been practiced for thousands of years. In ancient Greece and Egypt, colours were even used to treat illnesses via coloured stones, crystals, and dyes. At a basic level there are warm colours (the red spectrum) and cool colours (the blue spectrum). They emote a natural response in us without us even having to be experts in colourology. It’s this ability to impact
our emotions that Kadinsky was alluding to when he said, “Color is a power which directly influences the soul”. Each individual colour also has a specific meaning. For instance, the colour blue is thought to help us communicate better and the colour yellow if often equated with joy. This information can be used in the workspace to impact mood and enhance performance. What if blue items of clothing were used to help an employee better express themselves during a presentation or orange was used in artwork/on walls in an area of an office assigned for collaboration and creativity? Another energy tool is numerology. This is the study of numbers, which dates back to around 3000 BC. Meaning was assigned to numbers, but it was developed differently by each culture. In some cases numbers helped people to understand life events and in other’s they were used to make predictions of future events. Today numerology is more likely to be seen within spiritual practices. It’s possible to simplify numerology, deriving a meaning and characteristics for each number and so using it
within business. A few examples of the meanings applied to numbers are ‘1’ is commonly related to initiation or opportunity whereas ‘3’ is associated with communication and unique thinking. By analysing your business and ascertaining which number or numbers best represent it, you can reinforce its energy within business activities. Numbers appear in so many aspects of business from the cost of a product to the time of a social media post. So, whenever you set a price or schedule a post, you can ensure it’s aligned to your business. Now let’s look at the energy tool of symbols. Symbols are all around us, with images having been used to communicate throughout history. Just think of all of the cave drawings that have been discovered providing a window into life thousands of years ago. In the work setting, we’ve been taught the value of using images to help us communicate. Images can more easily convey a complex point than words, and can utilise colour to add additional meaning. They can even traverse language barriers. Conficius high-

lighted the power of symbols when he said, “ Signs and symbols rule the world, not words and laws”. The most impactful way to use images and symbols in the workplace is within a logo. Most people can identify popular brands just from the symbol associated with them. It’s therefore important to carefully consider what symbol(s) you use in your business, especially when creating something like your logo which will appear on many of your assets. One symbol has the power to communicate who your company is and what it stands for quickly and effectively. The final energy tool to consider is sound. Just as colours can evoke certain emotions, so too can sounds. We can use music to both calm us down or to raise our vibration. In health spas music is used as a soothing tool, whereas there are other environments where music is used to ‘rev up’ the crowd such as at personal development events. Imagine what we could achieve in the office if it was the norm to use music to get us prepared energetically for a big meeting or presentation.
20
As a result of music’s ability to influence how we feel, it can play a crucial role in improving our wellbeing in the workplace. Some people listen to music if performing a repetitive task, so despite how they may feel about the task at hand, they’re still happy. Others use music as a way of inspiring them and engaging the creative side of their brain, so they can more easily complete a piece of work. Music is also known to improve focus and increase productivity. A small amount of knowledge on these four energy tools can therefore make a big difference in the workplace. The impact ranges from improved communication to increased wellbeing. The tools can be used in any company, regardless of the size of the business or its sector. It just requires a little thought into how to best harness their power for your business. So where will you start implementing energy tools?

How Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Can Be Your Business’s Best Friend Pam Weiser 21
As your business grows, it’s easy to overlook structure and consistency. SOPs can give your business the backbone and structure it needs to become successful and run more smoothly. Have you ever wondered how your favorite coffee shop gets your order perfect every single time? Or how that online store manages to deliver your package right on schedule, over and over again? It’s not a coincidence, and there is most definitely a process in place, or what we call Standard Operating Procedures - SOPs for short. They’re not as fancy or complex as they sound - they’re essentially just a set of instructions to get a job done right, but even a simple procedure holds a lot of power. SOPs might sound like something that only large corporations would need, but whether you’re running a new startup from your garage, you only have a team of one, or you’re managing a global organization, SOPs are your guiding light and a must-have key resource to have on hand. Why? Because they are all about consistency and efficiency. Think about it…when your team knows exactly what to do and how to do it, things get done more quickly and easily. Because the process is laid out, mistakes decrease and productivity increases. So, that large double iced mocha is the same. Every. Single. Time. And that’s what the customer expects - a reliable quality experience. So, how do you get started creating SOPs? It’s very simple! First, start by identifying the key processes in your business for every step of the process. Write down each step in detail.
Pro tip: include the people who actually perform these tasks in the process. They do the work every day and are the experts on what needs to be done. Next, it’s time to communicate the process out to the team. It’s crucial to verbalize what an SOP is and why it’s important. And remember that training is essential. You can’t just hand over a manual and expect everyone to follow it to a tee. Be patient, be supportive and encourage feedback. Your doers are going to let you know if something doesn’t make sense and the process can be adjusted as needed. As your business grows, it’s easy to overlook structure and consistency. SOPs can give your business the backbone and structure it needs to become successful and run more smoothly.

The Myth of Compartmentalizing:
Build your personal equation and take the handcuffs off your growth Tori Boats
23
As you reach milestones in your business, your strategy needs to evolve. Did you know when you cut yourself off from using the full range of your strengths, you are handcuffing the growth of your business? You may not even be aware that you’re doing it. All eyes in the boardroom were on me as my quickly beating heart dropped into the pit of my stomach. The pressure to come up with the answers was so heavy, I could cut through the stale air with a knife. Can you imagine trying so hard to come up with creative ideas that your hands get sweaty and your mind goes blank? The struggle to try to solve the problem caused me so much anxiety. And the worst part… It was my company, and the fate of the mortgages of my 75 employees rested on answering this seemingly simple question: What strategy will we use to double from $25M a year? So what does my creative block have to do with accessing your strengths and the growth potential of your business? Using your strengths to grow your business seems obvious. But 9 out of 10 business owners who work with me on scaling past 7-figure revenue, have a hidden roadblock that keeps them from making the bigger impact that drives them. When you’re stuck in indecision or repeating old strategies that no longer work, it can eat away at your confidence no matter how successful
you’ve been in the past. As you reach milestones, in your business, your strategy needs to evolve. Because ‘what got you here, won’t get you there’. And when you can’t access your unique mix of strengths, a problem not solved in the traditional business context, you’re being cut off from the very tools you need to make the leap. You see, at that critical inflexion point in my first company’s growth, I thought a new strategy would solve all our problems. But the root cause stemmed outside the logical flow of my business plan. And this next point may seem contrary to stodgy business practices. Yet, if you are going to be successful in pushing the envelope, you must push against the boundaries and be open to a new way of thinking to have a greater impact on what you can accomplish in your life. What was missing from my business and professional goals was the personal side - my life interests. These spark creativity where novel ideas are born and inform the exponential growth in your business.
You see, I was really good at compartmentalizing my life. Splitting my personal and professional parts affected how I showed up depending on the situation. Do you find this next point true for your life? My client, Judy, struggled to see the steps to grow to 8-figure revenue. While we worked on the evolution of her organization, her own hidden block kept her from a clear path to make the changes she knew were needed. When we dove deeper, we uncovered that she acted, talked, styled her hair, and even stood differently when she was at work, versus out with her mom tribe. She also had a way of being “her real self” when she was in the yoga studio with accepting adults that loved her high, positive energy - a quality she diminished at work. Before you assume that this is just a matter of acting & dressing appropriately for the occasion, it actually goes much deeper - and that’s what makes this roadblock hidden from view. When you can’t show up as your

whole self, you hide or dampen what makes you quirky or hold certain thoughts at bay “because they don’t belong here”. This cuts you off from the vitality of your creativity and the unique ideas that propel your business forward. You must build your personal equation to evolve your business if you want to take the handcuffs off your growth. Why? Because your ability to dream up ambitious goals and the strategy to get there are fueled by using the strength of your unique perspective, way of thinking, and interests. This combo is unique to you and creates the right path to scale. These are the steps I helped Judy work through to bring her personal and professional strengths together and define her unique perspective. We crafted the equation that positioned her business for 10X growth with a vision and strategy that differentiates her company and attracts top-talent like a magnet. As an entrepreneur working to scale your business, you must work on your mindset every single day. If you want to expand your business by another 40%, you must grow as a CEO by 60% so you can sustain growth. You must exercise your brain and your guts on a daily basis to bust out of the norm and create a revolutionary vision for your company. Try these growth mindset shifts to

Unlocking Success: The Power Of Core Beliefs by Dr. Mary Meduna-Gross
26
Delve into the beliefs that underpin your reality. Every system is perfectly designed to get the results it is getting. This mantra applies not only to complex organizations and teams but also to the individual journey. It prompts us to question what happens when our efforts fall short despite trying everything within our grasp. When the pursuit of a goal seems like pushing against an immovable wall, where should one turn? Take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices and compromises you have made to reach this point. Grab a pad and pen; list the numerous decisions and actions, big and small, that have been undertaken to breathe life into your aspirations. Consider the vast pool of resources – time, money, and energy – invested in sculpting your present self. Before diving in, let’s lay down a foundational belief: everyone, including you, is operating at their utmost based on their available beliefs and information. You may resist this notion, recalling instances of hurtful behavior received or given. This belief doesn’t justify actions, but urges the dispensation of grace and compassion, while maintaining necessary boundaries. You may struggle with self-judgment, caught in the loop of “could haves” and “should haves.” This internal scrutiny is counterproductive. Instead, extend that same compassion to yourself throughout this exploration. Conventional wisdom dictates that outcomes are products of cause and effect – one’s best foot forward
27
triggers the desired effects. This perspective spotlights behaviors, with any shortfall resulting in adjustments to intensity, frequency, or duration of actions. If these modifications falter, frustration leads to blame and criticism.
1. Believing in personal worthiness translates to self-capability.
However, a more profound analysis reveals that results are a culmination of the beliefs that we hold. The process unwinds as follows:
3. Feeling lovable spurs easy connections and an abundance mindset.
1. Decisions and Actions: Results are born from the choices made and the steps taken, or not taken. 2. Emotional State: These choices and actions are dictated by emotions towards the desired outcome, existing variables, and the action itself. A calm nervous system facilitates coherent action, while chronic stress breeds struggle.
2.Trusting in worthiness fosters the conviction that life unfolds favorably. Unexpected situations are welcomed as new possibilities.
4. Acknowledging personal needs and assuming responsibility for self-care becomes second nature. 5. Attending to personal needs minimizes chronic stress, ensuring ample energy for necessary actions. 6. Reducing stress fosters clear, empathetic, and proactive thinking.
3. Belief Framework: The state of the nervous system hinges upon the ingrained self-perceptions and behavioral patterns that form over a lifetime.
Contrast this with the belief, “I am NOT lovable”:
In short, our outcomes mirror our self-beliefs. By considering the following contrasting beliefs and the outcomes that follow, based on these beliefs, let’s explore the mirror effect.
2. This negates the possibility of life’s cooperation, leading to exhaustive efforts to prove one’s worthiness and correctness. 3. Difficulty arises in forming connections, and a scarcity mindset takes root.
Consider the belief, “I am lovable”:
1. Such a core belief chips away at self-capability and worthiness.
4. Neglect of personal needs becomes a norm, with a faint hope that others will recognize and fulfill them. 5. The result is chronic stress, sapping mental clarity and physical energy. 6. Actions become perfunctory, devoid of alignment with desired outcomes – a one-way street to burnout. When results remain elusive, the solution lies beyond actions, reaching deep into core beliefs about ourselves. Shifting these beliefs reshapes the entire journey, paving the way to alignment with dreams. Success, then, becomes a natural byproduct of a foundational shift. The quest for transformation is no small feat. It demands a confrontation with the beliefs, often hidden beneath layers of societal expectations and personal experiences. It’s about peeling those layers away to uncover the core that’s been shaping our reality. Consider the story of Sarah, a young entrepreneur. She was determined to make her venture a roaring success. Despite her tireless efforts, the outcomes were far from satisfactory. She realized that her underlying belief was that she wasn’t good enough. This belief had unknowingly been driving her actions – her constant striving for perfection, her fear of failure, and her hesitance to ask for help.
Through introspection and guidance, Sarah challenged this belief. She explored her accomplishments, the hurdles she overcame, and the genuine support she had around her. Slowly, she adopted a new core belief – she was capable and worthy. As this belief took root, her actions transformed. She became more willing to take calculated risks, to delegate tasks, and to embrace failures as stepping stones. With her emotional state in balance, she navigated challenges with grace and clarity, leading her business towards the success she had yearned for. The journey to success, then, is a voyage within. It involves untangling the threads of self-belief and reweaving a tapestry that reflects personal worthiness, capability, and resilience. It’s about recognizing that the exter-

nal world is a mirror of the internal landscape. So, the next time the results aren’t forthcoming despite your best efforts, consider looking beyond the realm of actions. Delve into the beliefs that underpin your reality. Engage in a conversation with your core self and challenge the assumptions that have been directing your journey. As these beliefs shift, so does your reality. Your path to success begins with a transformation at the very core of your being. Getting Real in a Picture-Perfect World: Embracing Your Brand’s Imperfections Lori Reeves 29
tween you and your audience. You’re basically saying, “I expect nothing less than perfection, and you better deliver too.”
Authenticity is your secret weapon. When you let your true self shine, you become relatable. In a world where everyone’s Instagram feed is like a highlight reel, being yourself – quirks and all – can be a tough gig. But guess what? Embracing your imperfections is like having a superpower that makes your business stand out in the coolest way. As solopreneurs who’ve got our hearts in the right place, we’ve got this awesome chance to connect with our peeps on a deeper level by letting them in on the real, unfiltered story behind our brand. So, let’s dive into why being genuine is a big deal and how letting your flaws shine can seriously change the game. The Magic of Keeping it Real Alright, let’s clear the air here: being real isn’t some marketing trick. It’s about showing up as your true self, no masks, no filters. Think about it – when you share your ups and downs, your audience gets that you’re a living, breathing person, not just a logo. They feel your struggles and celebrate your wins because they’re part of this ride with you. Imagine discovering a brand that’s totally cool with being human. Instead of pretending they’ve got it all figured out, they’re real about the challenges they’re tackling and the progress
Here’s the scoop: aiming for perfection is like chasing a rainbow. It’s a detour from your true self and the connections you could be building. As savvy business owners, we get it. We know that the real story, complete with its messiness, is way more inspiring than any facade of flawlessness. Sharing your journey – bumps and all – makes a real impact.
they’re making. This kind of authenticity creates a connection that goes way beyond business deals. It’s like a shout-out, saying, “Hey, we’re all in this together, navigating the twists and turns as we go.” Authenticity is your secret weapon. When you let your true self shine, you become relatable. You show that you’re not perfect – just like the folks you’re reaching out to. Instead of acting like you’ve got everything under control, you’re real, and that’s what clicks with people. We all have that urge to fit in – it’s practically in our DNA. Back in the day, being left out could mean serious trouble. But times have changed, my friend. Now, standing out is where it’s at. Blending in won’t get you noticed; it’ll just keep you in the background. So, let’s ditch that urge to blend and let our uniqueness shine. The Myth of Being Flawless Let’s get real – perfection? It’s a myth, plain and simple. Yet, we’re bombarded with images of perfection everywhere. Social media, magazines, heck, even the folks next door – they all seem flawless. But guess what? It’s all a front. When you act like you’ve got it all together, you put up a barrier be-
Instead of pretending you’re flawless, it’s way cooler to show how you bounce back from mistakes. That’s what hits home. When you spill the beans about the challenges you’ve faced and the lessons you’ve picked up, you become someone people can relate to. You offer a roadmap for others navigating their own struggles. Why Imperfections Are Your Secret Sauce Okay, let’s talk about why rocking your imperfections is worth it. It’s all about vulnerability – the special ingredient for making tight connections. When you’re vulnerable, you’re showing your genuine self, warts and all. And guess what? People love it. They’re drawn to your honesty, your bravery, and that openness you bring to the table. Vulnerability might seem like weakness, but it’s actually a sign of strength. When you’re ready to share something that’s not all sunshine and rainbows, you’re showing a level of courage that’s seriously impressive. We all know how tough it is to let our guard down, so when someone does, it’s like a breath of fresh air in a stuffy room. Tips for Flaunting Your Flaws Storytime with a Twist: Share personal stories of the hurdles that shaped your journey. Let your audience see
30
the real you – someone who’s tackled roadblocks and come out even stronger. Peeking Behind the Scenes: Give a sneak peek into your creative process, even the messy bits. It’s an awesome way to show that success isn’t all glam – it’s a mix of sweat, setbacks, and pushing forward. The Lessons in Imperfection: Share moments where things didn’t go as planned, and you learned valuable lessons. When you’re transparent about your missteps and how you turned them around, you show that growth and improvement are all part of the journey. Your audience will appreciate the honesty and connect with your brand’s commitment to constant evolution. Remember, it’s not about the fall; it’s about how you rise from it. Your audience will admire your ability to own up to imperfections and use them as stepping stones to success. Live and Unfiltered: Engage with your audience in real-time. Respond to feedback and concerns openly, showing you’re all about improving and genuinely care about their experience. High Fives for Progress, Not Perfection: Instead of chasing some crazy idea of perfection, celebrate your progress. Each step forward is a win, and sharing those wins inspires others to keep moving too.
Navigating the Bumps and Hurdles Now, let’s tackle the big question: what happens when you spill the beans about your imperfections? Not everyone’s gonna give you a round of applause for being real, especially in a world that expects flawless performances. But here’s the thing: timing matters. Share stories of growth and learning – not when you’re still in the thick of it, but when you’ve got some insights to share and lessons to dish out. It’s like the difference between showing off a healing scab and revealing a scar. A scab’s not done yet; it’s still on the mend. But a scar? That’s a whole different story. Your audience isn’t interested in the messy middle. Showing it to them too soon could actually backfire. So, wait until you’ve come out the other side, armed with some
pearls of wisdom that can help others avoid the pitfalls you’ve faced. As entrepreneurs with a heart, authenticity is our guiding light. Embracing imperfections isn’t just a trend – it’s a whole movement. It’s about smashing the myth of perfection and making connections on a real, human level. So, let’s take this journey together. Let’s high-five our quirks, swap stories, and start a new wave of authenticity in the business world. ‘Cause being real is what truly counts, and it’s what’ll set your brand apart in a world that loves filters.

CRAFTING MEANING
Navigating the Realm of Remote Work with Purpose Taylor Ramezan 32
In the realm of remote work, planning takes on a whole new significance. The absence of a structured office environment demands that I become the architect of my day. In the heart of the digital age, a new landscape of work has emerged. Remote work, once an exception, has now become a norm, bridging the gap between the traditional office and the comfort of home. A personal choice to navigate boundless yet uncharted waters, in my five year remote-work journey, I have come to realize that the key to a fulfilling remote work experience lies in crafting a meaningful workday – a tapestry woven with intention, purpose, and a touch of creativity. The Canvas of Morning Rituals Each day unfurls as a blank canvas, waiting to be painted with purpose. For me, the morning ritual sets the tone for the hours that follow. I begin with a ritual that anchors me to the present moment – a cup of hot coffee, a walk listening to my favorite music, or a few quiet moments of reflection with my cats. These precious morning moments (each a unique catalyst for a similar outcome) not only grant me a serene start but also remind me of the intention I’ve set for the day. Rituals are more than just habits; they are sacred acts that infuse meaning into the mundane. The first sip of coffee transforms into a moment of gratitude for the simple pleasures. The silence of reflection becomes

a canvas for clarity. And my walk becomes an inspirational time filled with thoughts, dreams, and aspirations. Each morning ritual becomes a stroke in the painting of a meaningful workday. The Palette of Purposeful Planning In the realm of remote work, planning takes on a whole new significance. The absence of a structured office environment demands that I become the architect of my day. The palette of purposeful planning involves more than just creating to-do lists; it’s about weaving a narrative that aligns with my goals and values. I begin by outlining my three key priorities for the day – the pillars on which I’ll build my accomplishments. This acts as a compass, guiding me through the myriad of tasks that lay ahead. I intersperse focused work periods with short breaks, allowing my mind to rest and recharge. This deliberate approach ensures that my day is not just productive but also nourishing. The Canvas of Connection As a remote worker, the realm of connection takes on a new form. The virtual corridors of emails and video meetings replace the physical interactions of a traditional office. However,
the canvas of connection isn’t limited by screens; it’s broadened by the intention behind each interaction. I make a conscious effort to infuse authenticity into my virtual exchanges. A simple “How are you?” transforms into a genuine inquiry about the well-being of my clients and colleagues. Video meetings are not just about delivering updates; they’re about connecting faces and voices across the digital divide. The canvas of connection becomes a space where empathy and camaraderie flourish. The Symphony of Creativity Amidst the emails and lists, the symphony of creativity finds its place. In the realm of remote work, it’s easy to get lost in the routine of tasks and deadlines. However, the creative thread is what weaves innovation and inspiration into the fabric of the day. I set aside time for creative exploration – moments when I can brainstorm ideas, doodle in my planner (yes, I still have a physical planner) or simply let my mind wander. These pockets of creativity infuse a sense

I set specific times for work and leisure, allowing myself to fully engage in both. The essence of balance is not just about allocating time; it’s about preserving my mental and emotional equilibrium. The Tapestry of Reflection As the day draws to a close, I take a moment to reflect. The canvas that was once empty is now filled with the strokes of intentions realized, connections made, and creativity nurtured. I revisit my planner, noting the moments of gratitude, the challenges faced, and the lessons learned.
Reflection is not just a closing act; it’s a catalyst for growth. It’s a reminder that every day is an opportunity to learn, evolve, and strive for better. It’s about infusing intention into each moment, nurturing a sense of purpose, and finding fulfillment in the canvas of each day. COLLABORATION RATHER THAN COMPETITION could be the key to unlocking your business potential. Louise Mosley
35
Many collaborations fail as they lack structure Collaboration rather than competition could be the key to unlocking your business potential. Collaboration – what does it really mean? According to the Oxford Dictionary, collaboration is; the action of working with someone to produce something or a traitorous cooperation with an enemy. I’m not sure that either of these are particularly helpful in a business context and they certainly don’t seem to correlate with the way the word is used on many social media platforms and at networking meetings I attend. Everyday my LinkedIn inbox and emails are full of people who claim to be really interested in what I do and wanting to look to collaborate. GREAT! that’s something that as a solo entrepreneur is really important. One person can’t possibly carry out every activity which is required to run a successful business. Collaboration is the best way to get into flow and ensure that everyone is working to
their strengths. However, virtually every time I receive a message suggesting collaboration, it’s quickly very clear that what they really mean is, BUY MY STUFF! What they’re offering is a transactional relationship, not a collaboration. So, I come back to my question, “Collaboration, what does it really mean?” I’m a passionate scuba diver and lover of the underwater world. I’m constantly amazed by the resilience and adaptability of the natural world, so I wondered if there were any examples of collaboration which may inspire me. When I started to look back over my many “FishyFriday Posts” ( series of posts on LI) I came across numerous instances which beautifully illustrated the potential for collaboration. The Portuguese man o’ war, also known as the man-of-war, bluebottle, or floating terror is an interesting example.
siphonophore, an animal made up of a colony of organisms working together. Different clones do different jobs, but all are connected to a central circulatory system so all can be nourished by the colony. In isolation they would not survive, collectively they really are a force of nature not to be messed with! If you are already reading this article, then I’m sure you are already bought into the concept of collaboration, but some may still be wondering how can it work in practice? Many collaborations fail as they lack structure and a mindful approach, with clarity on all sides as to what is being offered and expected in return.
It’s often referred to as a jellyfish. However, it’s not actually a jellyfish, it’s not even an “it,” but a “they.”
I use a tool called Wealth Dynamics which was created as a personal and business development tool for entrepreneurs. Based on the Chinese book of change, The I Ching, it allows us to consider our unique blend of energy or frequencies.
The Portuguese man-of-war is a
The reason I’m introducing this

tool here is that it can help us to identify which energies and talents are complimentary to ours and can therefore allow us to form considered and effective collaborations. We are all born with natural talents but we spend much of our life focusing on what we aren’t great at, getting frustrated and feeling bad that we can’t do something and forgetting about the things we take for granted, our natural talents. Everything is energy, everything vibrates at a different frequency, and this influences its’ key characteristics. Our skills, talents, preferences in communication, thinking and acting are all influenced by our unique mix of the energies, which, in the Wealth Dynamics model, are referred to as Dynamo, Blaze, Tempo and Steel.
Each of us has a primary profile based on our balance of frequencies, one which creates the greatest resonance and harmony, when we are working in our primary profile, we experience more flow and tend to be more productive and add more value to our business. We also have two secondary profiles which we can stretch into, challenging and expanding our skill set. We are all a mix of Dynamo, Blaze, Tempo and Steel energy which make up the 8 individual profiles shown below in the Wealth Dynamics Square. Someone with the same profile will still be different to one other as it is the unique mix and our life experience which creates individuality.
Understanding where we add the most value is important to our business and it’s also crucial for understanding where we need additional support and collaboration. The more time we spend in our primary profile, the more time we are in flow and collaboration is a fantastic way to stay in our zone of genius. If for example you are a Star Profile, your ideal team of collaborators would comprise Deal Maker and Lord Profiles 1 - Star Primary Profile has the secondary profiles, Supporter and Creator. 2 - Deal Maker Primary Profile has the secondary profiles Supporter and Trader 3 - Lord Primary Profile can stretch into secondary profiles, Accumulator and Mechanic.

If you are struggling with a block or obstacle in your business rather than try to work it out alone, a change of perspective can make a real difference. Think about who is in your network, who are your connections? Where are the opportunities for collaboration? Even if they have a similar business to you, we are all unique so there will also be elements of difference and areas of synergy.
Using this 1,2,3 approach ensures that all the profiles are covered and each individual can focus on the tasks and activities that they are most suited to. Recently, I’ve been collaborating with a colleague and friend with high Dynamo energy. A fellow coach and trainer she’s full of new ideas, highly creative and unsurprisingly uses creative problem-solving methods in her client sessions. I’m a Lord Profile and have complimentary energies of Tempo and Steel, great at implementing processes, workshops and attending to the detail. We both have high Blaze energy so make a fantastic collaborative partnership, with all the bases covered. Many of us struggle to articulate what makes us different, what is our unique essence so Anat and I wanted to explore if bringing together a process which I had 38

Stellar Customer Service Kwik Turn-Arounds Competitive Pricing
Quality Work Yes, we make signs but so do the other 24 signs shops in our city. What sets us apart from the competition is customer service. Not only do we focus on producing high quality signs with kwik turn-arounds, it is our mission to make sure our clients experience an easy and painless ordering process. We’re constantly managing deadlines to make sure that great looking signage is checked off your to-do list! We’ve been helping our clients since 1989 and we hope to add you to that list!
