Beautiful palomino stallion: well balanced, heavily muscled. Bred and raised by long-time friend and neighbor, Bruce Hammons, who always had a keen eye for a good horse. He is crossing well on our ranch mares. Toughy sires colts with good conformation, lots of color, and eye appeal.
Crossing Toughy on our ranch mares has resulted in a set of attractive replacement fillies with big hips, pretty heads and lots of shape.

Raised and trained by renowned horseman and trainer, Nathan Payne of Stillwater, Oklahoma This royally bred buckskin stallion has the breeding of some of the best roping and racing bloodlines to be found; his pedigree is stacked with speed and performance, top to bottom.
*Harlan: An all-around sire of racing, halter and performance horses, Harlan put his own tremendous speed and big stop to use as a calf roping mount. Harlan is the sire of Slash J Harletta (dam of Firewater Flit), an AQHA Champion and barrel racing qualifier to the WPRA finals. A lot of great NFR rope horses were either by Harlander or out of his daughters.
*Rocky Jones sired five (5) track record setters for short distances from 220-350 yards.
*Driftwood Ike is believed by many great horsemen to be the most versatile siring son of Driftwood.

Mutt is a maternal half-brother to Dexter 77 and the stallion we chose to replace his sire, Little Tough Pistol. He has the conformation it takes to raise ranch/performance horses with looks and size. He is well-balanced as evidenced by a short back, long underline, big hip, short cannon bones, and low set hocks. A beautiful buckskin, Mutt has a super disposition and was easy to start with a trainable, willing attitude.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS BIDDING
Every bidder/buyer MUST obtain a bidding number in the office; NO bids will be taken without one! Photo identification is required to receive a buyer’s number. Each horse will sell to the highest bidder. All horses become the property of each respective buyer upon auction end and full payment.
Auction Bidding Format:
Bidding will commence at 11 a.m. and extend to or after 1 p.m. A BIDDING BOARD will be assembled in the auction ring managed by a team of bid takers, who will receive and post all bids
To place a bid:
-Submit bidding information: Lot choice, bid amount, buyer number and signature/initials
-All pertinent information will be noted under the Lot selection on the Bidding Board
Bidding increments:
Up to $1499 – minimum bid is $25 $1500 & up – minimum bid is $50
Auction End and Extended Bidding:
1.Extended bidding means that the auction will remain active until there has been four (4)minutes of bidding inactivity, even if the original ending time has been reached.
2.IF there is NO bidding activity within the last four (4) minutes, the auction ends and all Lots will close simultaneously at 1 p.m.
3.IF a bid has been placed (on any lot) in the last four (4) minutes before 1 p.m., extended bidding will start.
37
4.The extended bidding period is in four (4) minute increments until there are no bids received within that time period.
Examples:
#1: There is no bidding from 12:56 to 1 p.m. All Lots are declared closed and the sale ends at 1 p.m.
#2: There IS a bid(s) placed at 12:57 p.m.; auction is extended by four (4) minutes. IF no more bidding occurs, all Lots are declared closed and the sale ends at 1:01 p.m.
#3: There is a bid placed at 12:58 p.m. Auction is extended by four (4) minutes until 1:02 p.m. Another bid is placed at 1:02 p.m. No more bids are placed. All Lots are declared closed and the sale ends at 1:06 p.m.
Benefits of this style of auction:
1)Buyer has the CHOICE to switch to any Lot in the offering if he/she is outbid on his/her current choice.
2)Buyer does not have to deal with the ‘seller’s order’ of sale because all Lots are offered and bid on simultaneously.
3)Buyers are given the opportunity to raise their bid on any Lot continuously, in turn, within the time constraints.
4)The buyer has true choices and more time to make decisions.
PAYMENT
Terms of the sale are cash, and payment in full must be made to the cashier immediately after the sale. Payment must be in the form of cash, cashier’s check or personal check (U.S. currency only). Photo identification is required with all checks. No horse shall leave the grounds without a bill of sale.
AQHA registration papers, if applicable, will be issued to the buyer at the time of payment. Transfer fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
RISK
Title passes to the buyer and he/she becomes responsible for his/her purchase as soon as the auction closes. At such time, buyer assumes all risk of loss and the responsibility, maintenance, care and expenses of the horse. If a horse must be left overnight, arrangements must be made with the office staff at Hugo Livestock Market.
HEALTH
We strongly urge buyers to thoroughly examine the horses that interest them. Any known blemishes or defects will be noted on the horse’s individual ticket. Therefore, NO animal can be rejected by the buyer when the sale ends. All sales are absolute and final. Every animal will be sold under this rule.
Disclaimer: Due to circumstances beyond our control the pregnancy status or lack thereof is unknown of the sale fillies. Therefore, we are not responsible for any pregnancies that may or may not occur.
Sale horses were dewormed with custom blended Ivermectin-based horse wormer. Colts gelded were given tetanus antitoxin.
38
Colts may have fresh nicks due to handling and transport to sale site. All horses are guaranteed sound.
A veterinarian will be available to write health papers; buyer will be responsible for the cost.
Veterinarian Note:
All horses have a current negative Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) aka Coggins test and have been inspected. - Dr. Don Anderson, DVM

Men of Integrity: Partners and Friends
Bound by cattle, horses, hogs, bulls, and ranching this trio had a deep respect for each other and a special bond of enduring friendship. Well respected cattlemen, horsemen and business partners, there was never an unkind or detrimental word spoken among them. Their travails were a mixture of laughter, groans, a tear or two, or a shaking of their head(s), but they always remained friends of the truest kind with admiration one for the other. Dearest to each of these three men was their family, a growing footprint of the ranching future.
Marilyn J. Custer
They don’t make them like these three anymore!
