Boons Anheuser

All of these proven horses started as unhandled colts, but exemplify the accuracy of the following quote. “If you use a quiet, gentle approach with a soft voice, soft hands and patience while developing a colt’s mind and exposing their abilities, they will make as good a horse as you are a horseman.” -Todd

Welcome to the Tucker Ranch Quarter Horse Sale

Welcome and thank you for attending our 2026 sale. These horses are the result of selective breeding practices with conformation and trainability in mind. Enjoy this family friendly setting, examine the horses, visit with old friends or make new ones, and enjoy the day!

GENERAL INFORMATION

All horses will be available for viewing from Thursday, May 28th through auction close on May 30th. Horses will be held at the Three Creek Livestock Auction, Hugo, Oklahoma Registration and bidding numbers will be available the morning of the sale.

Horses will be penned on the west side of the auction facilities the day of the sale and will remain so until sold. Horses will NOT be sold through the auction ring nor before the sale. If we may be of assistance in animal selection, please do not hesitate to inquire.

Though the horses are not halter broke, we are around them on a daily basis, feeding, watering, assessing, etc. Each has been handled during presale processing while sorting, hauling, worming, branding, and being tested for Equine Infectious Anemia.

As AQHA members for over five decades, selective breeding and attention to continual improvement have produced horses that are proving to be successful. We hope that you form a partnership with the horse of your choice for future endeavors.

The Tuckers Todd, Jane, Clark, Sterling, & Declan

A GOOD HORSE RIDES BEST FOR A GOOD HORSEMAN.

–Walt Haythorn Ogallala, Nebraska

Welcome to the 2026 edition of the Tucker Ranch Quarter Horse Sale!

My name is Jake Walker, Equine Instructor/Head Rodeo Coach at Connors State College, AQHA Professional Horseman, Performance Horse Trainer, and President Elect of the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association.

The horse industry continues to be a valuable economic driver to our great state and the western lifestyle seems to have seen a surge in recent years. In both my professional and personal endeavors in western performance horses, I am always looking for overall good conformation that leads to functional movement coupled with a willing and trainable mind. The Tuckers share this same outlook and strive to continue to produce horses that fit this description.

Whether you are looking for a functional horse that can be used on the farm/ranch, your next arena performer, or that reliable recreation partner, I trust you have come to the right place. On behalf of the Tucker family and myself, thank you for your involvement in our great industry, as well as the decision to attend this sale.

Sincerely,

The CSC Rodeo Team is part of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association and competes at 10 rodeos during the year. Daily practices refine skills needed for competition. Scholarship packages are available!

Gain hands-on experience during daily riding and horse training classes. The CSC Agriculture Equine associate degree specializes in starting colts under saddle in addition to general education classes.

On campus facilities: 100’ x 250’ indoor arena, 150’ x 300’ outdoor arena, 60’ x 100’ round pens, 3 barns, tack room, stalls/paddocks to house 90 horses, practice stock.

Mutt is a maternal half-brother to Dexter 77 and the stallion we chose to replace his sire, Little Tough Pistol. He has the conformation it takes to raise ranch/performance horses with looks and size. He is well-balanced as evidenced by a short back, long underline, big hip, short cannon bones, and low set hocks. As well, Mutt has lots of bone and good black feet. A beautiful buckskin, Mutt has a super disposition and was easy to start with a kind, trainable, willing attitude.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Bidding

Every bidder/buyer MUST obtain a bidding number in the office; bids will not be taken without one! Photo identification is required to receive a buyer’s number. Each horse will sell to the highest bidder. All horses become the property of each respective buyer upon auction end and full payment.

Bidders intending to write checks should bring reference from their bank as to their credit worthiness. Checks will only be accepted at Seller’s discretion.

Auction Bidding Format:

Bidding will commence at 11:00 a.m. and extend to or after 1:00 p.m. A BIDDING BOARD will be assembled in the auction ring managed by a team of bid takers, who will receive and post all bids.

To place a bid:

-Submit bidding information: lot choice, bid amount, buyer number and signature/initials

-All pertinent information will be noted under the lot selection on the Bidding Board

Bidding increments:

Up to $2999 – minimum bid is $50 $3000 & up – minimum bid is $100

Auction End and Extended Bidding:

1. Extended bidding means that the auction will remain active until there has been two (2) minutes of bidding inactivity, even if the original ending time has been reached.

2. IF there is NO bidding activity within the last two (2) minutes, the auction ends and all lots will close simultaneously at 1:00 p.m.

3. IF a bid has been placed (on any lot) in the last two (2) minutes before 1:00 p.m., extended bidding will start.

4. The extended bidding period is in two (2) minute increments until there are no bids received within that time period.

Examples:

#1: There is no bidding from 12:58 to 1:00 p.m. All lots are declared closed and the sale ends at 1:00 p.m.

#2: There IS a bid(s) placed at 12:58 p.m.; auction is extended by two (2) minutes. IF no more bidding occurs, all lots are declared closed and the sale ends at 1:00 p.m.

#3: There is a bid placed at 12:59 p.m. Auction is extended by two (2) minutes until 1:01 p.m. Another bid is placed at 1:01 p.m. No more bids are placed. All lots are declared closed and the sale ends at 1:01 p.m.

Benefits of this style of auction:

1) Buyer has the CHOICE to switch to any Lot in the offering if he/she is outbid on his/her current choice.

2) Buyer does not have to deal with the ‘seller’s order’ of sale because all Lots are offered and bid on simultaneously.

3) Buyers are given the opportunity to raise their bid on any Lot continuously, in turn, within the time constraints.

4) The buyer has true choices and more time to make decisions.

TIE BREAKER:

In the event of a tied bid when the sale is called/ended disputes as to the successful bid shall be settled by review of the recorded time. 1) Of the two tied bids, the first bidder per the time posted will be given the first option to increase his/her bid amount to break the tie. 2) Thereafter, time will continue in two minute increments, until the there is no bid for two minutes and the tie is broken.

Buyers Payment & Release

The right to the property changes hands when full settlement is made. Payment in full of the sale price must be made to the cashier in the form of credit card, Federal Reserve Notes (cash), cashier’s check or personal check (U.S. currency only). Photo identification is required with all checks. No horse shall leave the grounds without a bill of sale.

Upon satisfactory payment by the buyer to the sale cashier, the cashier will issue a load out to the buyer which will release the horse from the auction grounds.

AQHA registration papers, if applicable, will be issued to the buyer at the time of payment. Transfer fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

Risk

Title passes to the buyer and he/she becomes responsible for his/her purchase as soon as payment is made. At such time, buyer assumes all risk of loss and the responsibility, maintenance, care, and expenses of the horse. If a horse must be left overnight, arrangements must be made with the office staff at Three Creek (3C) Livestock Auction.

Warranties

Any known blemish or defect will be noted in the sale catalog, catalog supplement or will be announced at the sale. Buyers are strongly encouraged and have the responsibility of carefully examining horse(s) before bidding on them. What is a defect to one person may not be a defect to another. Therefore, NO animal can be rejected by the buyer when the sale ends. All sales are absolute and final, therefore you will need to back your sound judgment with good payment. Every animal will be sold under this rule. The buyer assumes ownership and responsibility for the care and maintenance of said horse at sale’s end and after payment is made. Please exercise caution when loading your horse(s).

Breeding Status

Due to circumstances beyond our control the pregnancy status or lack thereof is unknown of the sale fillies. Therefore, Tucker Ranch Quarter Horses are not responsible for any pregnancies that may or may not occur.

Health

All horses in the sale will have a negative Equine Infection Anemia (EIA) aka Coggins test dated within 360 days of the sale.

Sale horses were dewormed with custom blended Ivermectin-based horse wormer. Colts gelded were given tetanus antitoxin.

Horses may have fresh nicks due to handling and transport to sale site.

A veterinarian will be available to write health papers; buyer will be responsible for the cost.

Veterinarian Note: All horses have a current negative Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) aka Coggins test and have been inspected.

LITTLE TOUGH PISTOL aka Toughy continued the (Tucker Ranch Q.H.) breeding program trajectory of producing attractive, athletic horses capable of performing in many disciplines. Bruce Hammons of Finley, longtime friend and neighbor, bred and raised this beautiful palomino stallion. Bruce, a Choctaw Nation member, always had a keen eye for a good horse and branded Toughy with his Bar H iron. He trained Toughy for a calf roping horse and this athletic stallion exceeded expectations!

Toughy moved from south of to northwest of Finley, two miles, in 2016, to start his next chapter in life as a breeding horse. For the next ten years, his days were spent watching over the carefully selected band of Quarter Horse mares.

Well balanced and heavily muscled with a keen head and big soft kind eyes, Toughy was an excellent choice to cross on Tucker ranch mares. The resulting cross was and are foals with correct conformation, lots of color, eye appeal and trainability. Again Toughy surpassed expectations when that cross of refinement on big stout ranch mares resulted in a set of eye-catching replacement fillies with big hips, pretty heads and lots of shape.
