More than 20 CSC faculty and staff attended the conference, connecting with colleagues from across the state, sharing ideas, and exploring opportunities to strengthen higher education in Oklahoma. Several of our own Cowboy family represented our college as committee members; Dr. Lori Palmer and Mr. Brent Adrain making this year’s conference one of the finest yet. Connors also had Ms. Brittnay Seay and Ms. Tosha Stout present about AI during breakout sessions, showcasing the college’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and student success.
The conference also provided an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding employees who make Connors State College such a special place. Ms. Brittany Seay was recognized as Faculty of the Year, Ms. Nicole Mote as Professional Employee of the Year, and Ms. Amber McKibben as Support Staff of the Year. These honors reflect the dedication, talent, and commitment of the individuals who work each day to support students and strengthen the college. Connors State is proud to see these outstanding employees recognized among Oklahoma’s community college professionals and congratulate each of them on this well-deserved honor. College President Dr. Ron Ramming into the OACC Hall of Fame, a recognition that honors his extraordinary career and lasting contributions to higher education. For the Connors State community, this honor was especially meaningful. Dr. Ramming dedicated 36 years of his professional career to the college, beginning as an agriculture instructor and livestock judging coach before serving in numerous leadership roles and ultimately becoming Connors State’s 17th president. His journey from CSC student to president reflects a lifetime of service, dedication, and belief in the transformative power of education. The induction was a heartfelt tribute given by Jay Falkner, President of Carl Albert State College, a long-time colleague and friend who shared that Dr. Ramming’s impact extends far beyond titles and accomplishments. He has led with integrity, humility, and a genuine commitment to the people and students who make Connors State special. His leadership 4 Connection: October 2026
helped strengthen the institution, expand opportunities for students, and build a foundation for future success. More importantly, the relationships he built and the lives he influenced are part of a legacy that cannot be measured by numbers alone. Dr. Ramming being recognized among Oklahoma’s distinguished higher education leaders was a proud moment for the entire Connors State family. The honor was not simply a celebration of a successful career, but a reflection of the countless ways he has served, encouraged, and invested in others throughout his life. Connors State College congratulates Dr. Ramming on this well-deserved recognition and celebrates the legacy he leaves with the institution. His years of service, steadfast leadership, and unwavering belief in the mission of community colleges will continue to inspire the Cowboy family for generations to come.
PARTNERSHIPS
Connors State Partners with Eastern Oklahoma Library System by Josie Correll, Marketing and Communications Coordinator Connors State College has partnered with the Eastern Oklahoma Library System (EOLS) to expand library services for students and the Warner community. The collaborative agreement, officially established in August 2026, allows the Warner Public Library to operate from the Connors State College campus library. The partnership follows the closure of the Warner Public Library in April 2024 due to water damage and irreparable foundation issues. With the Town of Warner unable to secure the funding needed for repairs, discussions began about finding a new location to continue serving the community. During the summers of 2025 and 2026, the Warner Public Library and Connors State College began working together to host Summer Reading Program events in the college library. These efforts helped
establish the foundation for a more permanent partnership. Under the new agreement, the library on the Connors State campus will serve both college students and members of the Warner community. Connors State students will also have access to EOLS online research tools and e-books at eols. org, as well as branch libraries throughout Eastern Oklahoma, expanding the resources and services available to them. The partnership provides an opportunity for both organizations to share resources while continuing to support education and literacy in the community. Through this collaboration, Connors State College and the Eastern Oklahoma Library System look forward to providing library services that benefit students and Warner residents for years to come. Activities included horseback riding, fishing, wagon rides, roping and other western-themed experiences. Whether it was spending time around horses or trying something for the first time, the day offered students opportunities to learn through participation and interaction.

Connors State Partners with Muscogee Creek Nation for Youth Shoot by Josie Correll, Marketing and Communications Coordinator Connors State College recently partnered with the Muscogee Creek Nation to host its annual Youth Shoot, bringing together nearly 50 Native American youth participants for an opportunity to develop their skills and experience competitive shooting sports. Both the Connors State Archery and Shooting Sports teams helped co-sponsor the event, with approximately 15 Connors State students and representatives assisting throughout the day. Students helped facilitate safe shooting practices, load target houses and keep score to ensure the event ran smoothly. The annual shoot has become an event that Connors State looks forward to each September, providing an opportunity for students to give back while introducing young shooters to the college’s shooting sports programs. “We’re always excited to get students out to Connors State College to show them the opportunities that exist in the events 8 Connection: October 2026

Connors Soccer Secures First Victory Under Moore by Josie Correll, Marketing and Communications Coordinator A new chapter of Connors State College soccer officially has its first victory. The Cowboys delivered a statement performance against Ecclesia College of Springdale, Arkansas, earning a commanding 5-1 win and securing their first victory under the guidance of Head Coach Steve Moore. From the opening whistle, Connors took control of the match and never looked back. The Cowboys found the back of the net five times while holding Ecclesia to a single goal, turning the match into a milestone moment for the program. The victory marked more than another number in the win column. It was the first win of the Coach Moore era and an important step forward for a program building toward its future. Since taking the reins at Connors, Moore has focused on establishing a
strong foundation for Cowboy soccer and developing a team prepared to compete. Against Ecclesia, that work came together on the field as the Cowboys put together their strongest performance yet. The 5-1 final score reflected a Connors team that was ready to make a statement. With each goal, the Cowboys added to the momentum and showed what the program is capable of as it continues through the season. For Moore and his players, the win represents a milestone they will always share — the first victory of a new era of Connors soccer. One win may only be the beginning, but for the Cowboys, it was a big beginning. Connors will look to carry the momentum from the victory into the remainder of the season as the Cowboys continue building under Moore’s leadership. Connection: October 2026 9
CAMPUS LIFE Remembering Together by Colton Dunaway, PLC President For many students at Connors State College, the events that took place on September 11, 2001, was learned about in a history class or a book. However, as a country, we will never forget the tragedy that has scarred our nation for decades to come. That is why, 25 years later, faculty, staff, and students from Connors came together with the Warner Fire Department and community to honor every American who was affected by theevents that transpired on that day. At 10:00 in the morning, students gathered in front of Miller’s Crossing Clubhouse to board the bus and make the short trip to the Warner Fire Department. Student turnout was immense, with members of SGA, PLC, the Agriculture Department, and countless athletes representing a large portion of the incredible student body we have at Connors. There, we met with firefighters and community members who gathered with hearts full of remembrance and honor. With that, we began walking with a purpose: completing the one-mile course back to the Connors campus, to pay tribute, with the Warner Police Department escorting the group along the way.
Upon arrival, an honorary ceremony was held beneath the American flag in Cowboy Square. With inspiring words from SGA President Addison Sarratt and Farm Manager and Warner Fire Chief Stetson May, we gathered as a community to honor the first responders and unsung heroes of that historic day. Through thoughtful words and a moment of silence, we took time to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who served during one of our nation’s darkest moments. Above all else, we honored God for the amazing country we live in and for how He showed up for America at our lowest point. It was through Him that we were able to come together again, stronger than we were before. It is with a heavy heart and a heart full of gratitude that I write this article, not only for my God and my country, but also for the people at Connors State College who will always be ready to serve our community and set an example for every student of what it means to be a true American and a part of the rich culture at Connors State College.
