A Day of Celebration: Commencement and Nursing Pinning Honor Student Success

Connors State College celebrated the accomplishments of its Spring 2026 graduates during commencement ceremonies, honoring the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of students who reached this important milestone in their educational journeys.
This spring, Connors State College awarded 589 degrees and certificates, marking another significant achievement for both the institution and its students. This number reflects the college’s continued growth and commitment to student success. Over the past five years, the college has experienced a remarkable 128 percent increase in degrees and certificates awarded, highlighting the impact of its academic programs and support services.
Family members, friends, faculty, staff, and community supporters gathered to recognize the graduates as they crossed the stage and celebrated the completion of their academic goals. The ceremony served as a reminder of the transformative power of education and the opportunities that await graduates as they begin the next chapter of their lives.
Serving as keynote speaker for the ceremony was Dr. Ron Ramming, whose distinguished career and leadership have left a lasting impact on Connors State College. In his remarks, Dr. Ramming encouraged graduates to embrace future opportunities, continue pursuing excellence, and carry forward the values and experiences they gained during their time at Connors State.

In addition to commencement exercises, the college also celebrated the accomplishments of its nursing graduates during a Nursing Pinning Ceremony held earlier in the day. The pinning ceremony is a long-standing tradition in the nursing profession that symbolizes the transition from student to healthcare professional. This spring, 18 nursing students were recognized for successfully completing the Associate Degree Nursing program and preparing to enter one of the nation’s most essential and respected professions.
The Spring 2026 graduating class represents a diverse group of students whose achievements reflect determination, resilience, and a commitment to personal and professional growth. Whether entering
the workforce, continuing their education, or pursuing new opportunities, these graduates leave Connors State prepared to make meaningful contributions to their communities and professions.
As the college celebrates another recordsetting year of student achievement, the Spring 2026 commencement ceremony stands as a testament to the success of its graduates and the continued momentum of Connors State College. From future educators and business leaders to healthcare professionals and skilled trades workers, the graduates of Spring 2026 embody the mission of Connors State College and the promise of a bright future ahead.
Honoring a Legacy of Leadership: Dr. Ron Ramming Retirement Celebration

Connors State College recently honored the incredible career and lasting legacy of Dr. Ron Ramming during a heartfelt retirement celebration surrounded by family, friends, colleagues, alumni, and community supporters on May 23.
Serving as Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Mr. Mike Jackson, who guided guests through a night filled with laughter, memories, and heartfelt tributes celebrating Dr. Ramming’s years of dedication and leadership.
Guest speakers shared personal stories and reflected on the tremendous impact Dr. Ramming has had on their lives, the Connors State College family, and countless students throughout the years. Speakers included Chancellor Sean Burrage
from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. from the Cherokee Nation, Representative Tim Turner, Senator Avery Frix, Coach Perry Keith, Mr. Jerry McPeak, and Mr. Blake Nelson, each sharing meaningful memories that highlighted Dr. Ramming’s servant leadership, mentorship, compassion, and unwavering commitment to student success.
The program also featured a special video tribute titled “A Celebration of Leadership and Legacy,” showcasing memorable moments from Dr. Ramming’s years of service and the many lives he has influenced along the way.
As the evening came to a close, Mr. Jackson delivered a touching poem titled “The

Legacy He Leaves Behind,” leaving guests with a heartfelt reminder of the lasting impact Dr. Ramming has made on Connors State College and the many people fortunate enough to know him.
The retirement celebration served as a beautiful tribute to a leader whose influence, kindness, and dedication will continue to shape Connors State College for generations to come.
Connors State College Division of Agriculture Hosts Annual Spring Bull Sale

The Division of Agriculture hosted its annual Spring 2026 Bull Sale this April. The event demonstrated strong market interest and showcased the quality of the breeding and bull test program.
The spring auction saw 59 bulls sold for a total gross of $428,750, achieving a solid average price of $7,266 per bull. That is a 77.5% increase in total gross sales compared to the Spring 2025 bull sale.
A notable highlight was the top-selling bull, which commanded $15,000, bred by Zachary Teter. This premium price reflects the superior genetics and quality offered at the sale.
The biannual bull sale continues to serve as an important connection point between the college and the agricultural community, showcasing Connors State College’s commitment to agricultural education and industry advancement.
This event would not be possible without the planning and dedication of Bull Test Manager Stetson May, along with farmhands Joel Curtis and Austen Carter.
Reserve Champion Tie-Down Roper Evan Corzatt Qualifies for CNFR

Evan Corzatt, a sophomore who graduated this May, has qualified to compete at the College National Finals Rodeo this summer in Casper, taking place June 13–20.
Competing in the highly competitive Central Plains Region, Corzatt earned the title of Reserve Champion Tie-Down Roper after finishing the season with an impressive 600 total points. Throughout the college rodeo season, he captured three short-round wins in tie-down roping, placed second at four rodeos, and qualified for a short round in team roping.
Corzatt competed in tie-down roping, team roping, and steer wrestling during the season. Only the top three competitors in each event advance to the CNFR, making the accomplishment even more significant.
Helping lead Corzatt to a national finals qualification is his trusted horse, Dollar, who is over 20 years old. Dollar’s experience, consistency, and reliability in the arena have played an important role throughout Corzatt’s successful season.
The Central Plains Region consists of 18 colleges and universities that compete across 10 college rodeos throughout the season, representing one of 13 regions nationwide.
Connors State Agriculture Recognizes Outstanding Students During 2026 Awards Banquet

The Connors State College Division of Agriculture recently celebrated another outstanding year of achievement during its 2026 Agriculture Awards Banquet, recognizing the accomplishments, leadership, and dedication of students across the division. The annual event brought together students, faculty, staff, families, alumni, and supporters to honor the hard work and success that continues to define Connors State Agriculture. Throughout the year, Connors State agriculture students excelled in academic, competitive events, leadership organizations, and community involvement at the local, state, and national levels. Numerous students earned prestigious honors through the National FFA Organization, including American FFA Degrees, national proficiency recognitions,
scholarships, and competitive team awards. Students also represented Connors State with distinction through judging contests, livestock events, shooting sports, leadership conferences, and campus organizations.
The banquet also highlighted the strong tradition of leadership and service within the division, recognizing students involved in organizations such as Aggie Club, Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa, PLC, BCM, and the Connors State Cattlewomen’s Association. Awards presented throughout the evening included the Cowboy Boot Awards, Silver Spur Awards, Sophomore of Significance Awards, Freshman Horizon Awards, All Division Team Awards, Graduates of Distinction honors, and numerous

scholarship recognitions. One of the most meaningful moments of the evening came during a memorial tribute honoring the late Mrs. Debby Golden, whose impact on agricultural education and Connors State College continues to be felt throughout the division. In recognition of her years of dedication and service, the division announced that beginning in Spring 2027, the Aggie Day Sweepstakes Award will officially be renamed the “Debby Golden Sweepstakes Award.” The evening served as a celebration of student success while reflecting the strong tradition, leadership, and sense of community that continue to make Connors State Agriculture one of the premier agriculture programs in the region.
Connors State College Annual Scholar’s Honors Night Celebrates over 800 Students

Maintaining a tradition spanning over a decade, Connors State College hosted the 2026 Scholars’ Honors Night on Tuesday, April 28th in the Fine Arts Auditorium in Warner. This event honors students across all modalities and disciplines enrolled at CSC. This night provides a moment to truly appreciate and recognize all of the hard work CSC’s students do both inside and outside the classroom.
This academic ceremony awards two primary types of achievements: Honor Roll recipients and students who were selected by their instructors to receive a unique award.
To be considered for the President’s Honor Roll, full-time students must complete the semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA. To
be placed on the Vice-President’s Honor Roll, full-time students must finish the semester with a 3.5 or higher GPA. This is an incredible achievement, especially considering that the bulk of CSC’s students are individuals who juggle far more than only their course work—balancing their academic pursuits with things ranging from college organizations, athletics, families, and employment.
The second award category presented during this ceremony is the InstructorGiven Awards. To receive this award, students must be recognized by individual instructors for their academic achievements in their course as well as other admirable traits. These awards range from students being recognized for their skills in a Composition course to those

given to students because they displayed excellent qualities, such as community engagement, integrity, personal or academic growth, and perseverance.
CSC was proud to honor 372 students who earned placement on Fall 2025 Honor Rolls and 395 students were named on the Spring 2025 Honor Rolls. Additionally, this event celebrated 115 students for being selected by their instructors for special recognition. Connors
also recognized the 2026 Mr. and Ms. Connors recipients. These awards are the highest honors a student can earn at Connors, as recipients are nominated and selected by faculty vote. These students embody what it means to be a Connors student. The 2026 Mr. and Ms. Connors recipients were Mr. Ross Turner and Ms. Chloe Silka.
According to a faculty nomination, “Ross is a great student, a hard worker and is active across campus,” as well as “an integral part of our AG programs.” Chloe was nominated by a written faculty submission that said, “Chloe truly represents the values of this institution better than any student I have been around,” and “she is selfless, intelligent, and has a work ethic that does not come around every day.” These are only a small representation of who these students are and the impact they had in CSC’s community of learners and educators.
Connors State College believes education is the key to opportunity, growth, and community. Because of this, it is a great honor to set aside one evening to celebrate these incredible scholars alongside their family and friends in recognition of a truly remarkable student body.
A Night of Recognition and Leadership for Connors State Presidents

The Connors State College Presidential Leadership Class (PLC) celebrated an unforgettable evening during the annual PLC Banquet held on May 1, 2026. The event honored the accomplishments, leadership, and dedication of both our graduating sophomores and freshman class members throughout the academic year.
Students were recognized for their academic achievements, leadership qualities, service, and impact on the PLC program and campus community. The evening also included the recognition of our retiring officers for their outstanding leadership and the introduction of our newly elected officers who will continue leading the program forward.
A special thank you goes to Chef Mike Wolf for the generous donation of the incredible
meal that made the evening even more memorable. We were also honored to have our retiring College President Dr. Ron Ramming as our guest speaker, whose encouraging words and leadership inspired all in attendance.
The banquet served as a meaningful celebration of growth, friendship, service, and the lasting legacy of the PLC program.
Connors State Students Experience Danish Culture Through Friendship Tour 2026

Students from Connors State College recently returned from an unforgettable international experience after participating in the Friendship Tour to Denmark in May 2026. The study abroad opportunity allowed students from Connors State College and Eastern Oklahoma State University to immerse themselves in Danish culture, education, and daily life through international collaboration and cultural exchange.
Representing Connors State College on the trip were students Ryleigh Bacon, Harlee McBride, Hayden Brewer, Karlee Glover, and Isabelle Irving. Faculty sponsors Lori Palmer and Lynett Rock accompanied the students throughout the program, helping facilitate the educational and cultural experiences abroad.
The group began their journey in Copenhagen, where students explored the city through canal tours, guided sightseeing experiences, and cultural activities. Highlights included visiting the historic Tivoli Gardens, one of the world’s oldest amusement parks, where students learned about the park’s history and participated in workshops before enjoying the attractions. Students also toured Rosenborg Castle and viewed the Danish Crown Jewels while gaining insight into Denmark’s royal history.
After their time in Copenhagen, students traveled to Silkeborg to participate in activities hosted by College360. A unique aspect of the Friendship Tour was the opportunity for students to stay with Danish host families, allowing them
to experience daily life and traditions firsthand while forming meaningful international friendships.
While at College360, students gave presentations to Danish students, participated in cultural exchange activities, toured the city of Silkeborg, and attended presentations about global business and working in international environments. The experience provided valuable opportunities for students to develop communication skills, broaden their worldviews, and learn about life and education in Denmark.
The group also traveled to Aarhus, Denmark’s second-largest city, where they visited the renowned ARoS Aarhus Art Museum and explored “The Rainbow” installation overlooking the city. Students

later toured The Old Town open-air museum and spent time experiencing local culture throughout the city center. Before returning home, students enjoyed a visit to LEGOLAND Billund, one of Denmark’s most famous attractions, creating lasting memories together at the conclusion of the trip.
The Friendship Tour provided students with an invaluable opportunity to experience another culture, build lifelong friendships, and gain a greater understanding of global perspectives. Through programs like this, Connors State College continues to encourage students to step outside their comfort zones and engage in meaningful educational experiences beyond the classroom.
A Season of Growth, Grit, and Achievement for the Connors State Cowgirls

The Connors State College Softball team wrapped up the 2026 season with a strong showing both on the field and in the classroom, finishing with an overall record of 28-24 and advancing to the semifinals of the Region II Tournament.
Throughout the season, the Cowgirls demonstrated resilience, determination, and a commitment to excellence that helped them compete among the top teams in the region. Their postseason run extended the season longer than usual, providing additional opportunities for growth and competition while showcasing the team’s hard work and perseverance.
The success of the program was reflected in several individual honors. Freshmen Heartly Snyder of Dale, Oklahoma, and
Caydence Burrows of British Columbia, Canada, were both selected to the NJCAA Region II Second Team All-Region squad, recognizing their outstanding performances during their first collegiate seasons. Burrows also earned First Team All-Tournament honors for her exceptional play during the Region II Tournament.
In addition to their accomplishments on the field, the Cowgirls excelled academically, posting an impressive team GPA of 3.41. The achievement highlights the program’s dedication to success in the classroom and reflects the commitment of the student-athletes to balancing academic responsibilities with the demands of collegiate athletics.
While several postseason awards have
yet to be finalized due to the extended season schedule, the accomplishments already earned by the Cowgirls speak to the strength and potential of the program. With a talented core of returning players and a group of freshmen who made an immediate impact, the future remains bright for Connors State Softball.
The 2026 season was marked by competitive play, academic excellence, and individual achievements that will serve as a foundation for continued success.
The Cowgirls represented Connors State College with pride throughout the year, and the program looks forward to building on this momentum in the seasons ahead.
Cowboys Finish Remarkable 48-12 Season as Region II Runner-Up

The Cowboys started the 2026 season off strong, winning eleven straight games before losing a nail-biter to Murray. The first loss of the season ended 10-9 after 13 innings. This game set the tone for the Cowboys, and the season was an amazing ride of games played with heart and grit from the first pitch to the last out. Watching the 2026 Cowboys was exciting because they recorded wins like 19-5, 3011, and 9-8 that took 10 innings, and hardfought battles that ended in scores like 1811. The Cowboys have bragging rights for a year after winning the A&M Classic, beating
NEO 7-6 in walk-off fashion in the 11th. The season was filled with challenges, but the bats stayed hot for the Cowboys, and the pitching was consistent. The Cowboys kicked off the Region II tournament by defeating NEO 13-4. The next game was a hard-fought, 10-inning victory over the Seminole Trojans. The 8-7 win advanced the Cowboys to the Championship Game. Seminole battled back through the loser’s bracket, and the Cowboys found themselves once again battling the Trojans for the Region II Championship. Despite strong pitching and consistent hitting,
the Cowboys fell short, ending their 2026 season with an outstanding record of 4812.
May is always bittersweet for our Orange Nation as we consistently say goodbye to some of our Cowboys and wish them great success in their next chapter of life. This year was another year of success for our Cowboys, especially our sophomores.
This outstanding group of young men won over 85 games in their careers as Cowboys. More importantly, they carried out the tradition of excellence on the field, in the classroom, and in our community. We are proud of our Cowboys and look forward to following them as they continue to excel as outstanding young men.

Connors State College Agriculture student Anna Fulks is making the most of every opportunity during her time on campus while preparing for a future in the agricultural industry.
Originally from Mountain View, Arkansas, Anna is pursuing a degree in Agricultural Business. She chose Connors State because of its highly regarded Livestock Show Team and the welcoming atmosphere within the Agriculture Division.
“I chose Connors because of the Livestock Show Team, but also because of the small, welcoming agriculture atmosphere,” Anna said.
Since arriving at Connors, Anna has become actively involved in numerous organizations and activities. She is a member of the Livestock Show Team, Ag Ambassadors, Aggie Club, and Cattlewomen. In addition, she works with the Connors State Bull Test, gaining valuable hands-on experience that complements her classroom education.
Outside of school, Anna enjoys spending time with family and friends, working on her family’s farm, and attending livestock shows. Her passion for agriculture and dedication to the industry are evident in both her academic and extracurricular pursuits.
After completing her studies at Connors, Anna plans to continue her education at a four-year university before pursuing a career in agricultural sales. Though she has not yet decided where she will continue her education, Anna is certain that pursuing
a bachelor’s degree is the next step in her journey.
Reflecting on her experience, Anna says Connors has exceeded her expectations and provided opportunities she never imagined. “Connors has opened so many more doors for me than I could have imagined,” she said.
For younger students considering how to make the most of their college experience, Anna offers simple but meaningful advice: “Take the chance. You will never know what you will miss out on if you don’t.”
Through her involvement, work ethic, and commitment to agriculture, Anna Fulks exemplifies the spirit of Connors State Agriculture and the opportunities available to students who are willing to get involved and embrace new experiences.
Alumni Spotlight

For Darren Armstrong, attending Connors State College was more than a step toward a degree, it was the foundation for a successful career in banking and lifelong relationships that continue today.
Armstrong attended CSC from 2004 to 2006, earning an Associate of Science in Business Administration while balancing the demands of working full-time. The college’s flexible evening class schedule made it possible for him to pursue higher education without stepping away from his career responsibilities. “I chose CSC for its flexible scheduling,” Armstrong said. “At the time, I was working full-time, and the ability to take a full course load through evening classes was a significant benefit.”
Although he was not involved in clubs or organizations during his time on campus, Armstrong says the relationships he built remain one of his favorite parts of the CSC experience. “My favorite memory is the relationships I built while attending CSC,” he shared. “I still maintain many of those friendships today.”
Among the many courses he completed, one class left a lasting impression. Principles of Listening, which he initially took simply to fulfill a credit requirement, became one of the most impactful courses in his college career. “It provided invaluable insights into communication styles and how to adapt to non-verbal cues,” Armstrong said.
After graduating from CSC, Armstrong launched a career in banking while continuing his education. He later earned a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration from Southern Nazarene University and most recently graduated from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
Today, Armstrong serves as the Community Bank President for Arvest Bank in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where he continues to lead and serve his community. His connection to CSC remains strong, as his family now prepares for the next generation to attend the college. “We are currently in the process of enrolling my oldest daughter in courses at CSC,” Armstrong said. “She will be a senior at Warner High School next year and plans to take concurrent enrollment classes.”
From evening classes to community leadership, Armstrong’s journey reflects the lasting impact of a Connors State College education and the opportunities it creates for students balancing work, family, and future goals.
