ABOUT MMD

I got into the metal industry nearly 10 years ago, somewhat out of necessity. Little did I know I would find a passion in metal products.

My introduction to the industry started with a warehouse position at a local metal service center. My primary role was to fulfill stock orders by pulling and bundling materials for the next days delivery schedule. Shortly after my hiring, I realized my passion for metal products. After a couple of years in the warehouse and training on multiple pieces of equipment I moved into sales. While I loved the opportunities presented and enjoyed learning different aspects of the service center I felt like I needed more. Shortly after graduating from college, we had the opportunity to start something new.

We started Brijway at the end of 2013, primarily prototyping parts for the railroad industry. After the realization that it was not enough business to justify, we

acquired the brand TracPac Trailers. We focused primarily on trailer manufacturing for the better part of three years and over the last year have focused more intently on custom fabrication.

Through all of these changes, signage was a consistent creative outlet. Although I wasn’t actively creating signs for other people, I would often create them for personal use. I love creating metal signage.

There’s something about the processes necessary to make a sign that fascinates me and I want to share that passion with you through our products. Whether you have a custom request or you’re looking at one of our standard items, I want your experience to be as enjoyable when you see it as mine is when creating it.

Main Logo

LOGOTYPE.

My Metal Designs primary logo is a simple emblem design that is inspired from logos and emblems from the 1950's and has a modernized industrial retro feel. This logo especially lends itself to being turned into a metal design.

My Metal Designs' secondary logos are modern lettermarks and is to be used at small scales where the primary emblems details would be lost.

SYNCOPATE

TYPOGRAPHY.

PRIMARY T YPEFACE

Syncopate was designed in 2010 as a headline and display typeface and is meant to be used in all caps with letter spacing.

Light in weight with a wide body width, it is a unicase design where the traditional lowercase x-height has been abandoned and a single uppercase height rules the design of all of the alpha and numeric

glyphs. The letter forms are a modern and stylish sans serif inspired by the many trendy sans serif typefaces that are so prevalent today.

The lighter weight and wide body impart a certain level of dignity, while the unicase approach keeps the look lively and fresh.

SECONDARY T YPEFACE Designed by Julieta Ulanovsky, Sol Matas, Juan Pablo del Peral, and Jacques Le Bailly, Montserrat fills in the gaps where Syncopate is lacking. This font is a wider typeface with an average x-height which pairs well with Syncopate, making it a very readable font and great for large blocks of

text and sub headings.

Montserrat is a geometric sans-serif typeface and is rather close in spirit to Gotham and Proxima Nova, but has its own individuxal appearance—more informal, less extended and more distinctive.

Gray is a cool, neutral, and balanced color. The color gray is a middle ground, moody color that is typically associated with meanings of formal, business, and sophisticated.

Burnt orange is a very social color and is asscociated with evoking feelings of autumn, warmth and comfort. This should be used as an accent color to the gray beside it or on its own with white.

Light gray can be associated with being professional, stylish, sophisticated, sleek, and modern. It shows that you care about your appearence now and for the future.

To be used as an accent to the darker grays surrounding it when needed

Charcoal gray communicates some of the strength and mystery of black. It is a sophisticated color that lack the negativity of black. Used as a header color and accent to burnt orange.
