Since 1892, Connie Maxwell Children’s Ministries has provided hope for South Carolina’s

children and families in need. Established as a ministry of the South Carolina Baptist Convention, Connie Maxwell has positively impacted thousands of individuals throughout our long history. We are a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).

At the threshold of a new horizon, after a long but rewarding journey; worn out, tired, but inspired, you will stand still in silence and look over your shoulder. In that moment, you clearly glimpse the path you traveled—the road you chose. This glimpse provides a picture etched forever in your heart and mind. The snowy mountain peaks, the dark and lonely valleys of despair, the flowers that brilliantly bloomed, the birds that sang a sweet morning lullaby, the tears of a broken heart, the smiles and Dreams of children... This addition of the Connie Maxwell Annual Report provides a glimpse of our past fiscal year—the most unusual and unprecedented year of our lifetimes. But for Connie Maxwell it is clear, the faithfulness of God and His servants remain steadfast and true.

As we cross the threshold of this past year and plunge heart-long into a bright and promising future, “A Decade of Dreams” stands before us. Head Clemson Football Coach Dabo Swinney recently said, “May your dreams be greater than your memories.” The road we have chosen promises to be challenging but also full of eternal glory, unspeakable joy, and lasting Dreams. We strive to make every child’s brightest future possible again. The kids who come to Connie Maxwell are in the midst of the most painful and confusing times of their lives through no fault of their own—and out of that comes a lack of hope, trust, and faith. We work to restore their faith in family, themselves, and in God and all that He can do to make their hopes, dreams, and aspirations for their future possible again.

Our vision is to become a national leader in healing and ministry for vulnerable children and families. Connie Maxwell has a long history of caring for children and their families, and has continued to develop new programs with individualized services that provide stability and Christ-centered support during their time of need. 7

Olivia’s Story Coming to Connie Maxwell is probably the best thing that could have happened for my brother, sister, and me. Though my older sister is currently enrolled in college now, thanks to Connie Maxwell, living here benefited all 3 of us. Connie Maxwell provides stability that we haven’t always had. While providing food and shelter amongst other things, Connie Maxwell has loved us while preparing us for life outside of living here. So, I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ for all of it because I don’t know where my siblings and I would be without you. 10

Connie Maxwell Children’s Ministries exists to restore the Faith, Family, and Future of vulnerable children and families through Christian services that emphasize ministry and healing. Each year, more than 200 children and their families participate in one of our core programs: Residential Care, Crisis Care, Foster Care and Family Care. 11

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS A young five-year-old in our Family Care program experienced a Christmas unlike any he ever experienced before. Arianna was placed into our care at the young age of 6 years old, and now at 18, she proudly crossed the stage just a few weeks ago with a high school diploma. She is the first in her family to receive this achievement and wants to become a Veterinarian.

Bryson received class winner at the Palmetto State Classic, Reserve State Champion Heifer, and then placed 6th in his division of a class of 80 animals at the National Cow Show Competition Church in mid-November. in Kentucky

Savannah found her “happy place” when she began riding horses and became part of the Equestrian Team.

Eli and many others caught a fish for the first time at Maxwell Farms. Okenvious has a rooster named Brownie and has become interested in helping raise other birds, such as chickens, quail, duck, etc., at Cooper Nixon.
