When physical books weren’t getting us anywhere, we turned to the Biography in Context on our Digital Branch. The mom was especially impressed that we found four articles in about five minutes, and she and her son didn’t actually have to leave their laptop to come in to get the information,” Lissa said.

“Your library has been proactively addressing the e-reader learning curve, offering how-to classes and in-house demos,” Shari Schawo, librarian, said.

Most of the e-book titles electronically move onto the next customer after the due date – meaning you’ll never have a late fee because they return themselves. However, thousands of the classics that are out of copyright are yours to download and keep.

In this 1972 Pulitzer Prize winner, a wheelchair-bound retired historian sets out to write his grandparents’ remarkable story, chronicling their days spent carving civilization into the surface of America’s western frontier.

Cedar Crest Governor’s Mansion

Learn about the fascinating history of Cedar Crest.

Built in 1928 and bequeathed to the State of Kansas along with 244 acres in 1955, Cedar Crest became the governor’s residence in 1962. But the story doesn’t end there. Presented by Nancy Appelhanz, a local historian.
