The sun and so many families showed up for our first annual Back to School BBQ. We were excited to see the students, and they were equally happy to see the Elementary Principals and some of their teachers. Students chalked how they wanted to launch into learning this year, made bubbles, and played on the playground. Additionally, we served hot dogs, chips, yogurts, and water. Connected New Hartford gathered at Sherrill Brook Park's Spruce Pavilion for an exciting outdoor adventure- Connected Quest! Participating families turned a simple day at the park into a journey of connection and nature based curiosity. They worked together to stamp off their nature scavenger hunt boards, and students chose a prize as a reward for completion once they were done. Families also enjoyed tabletop games under the shade of the pavilion and the Connected New Hartford team enjoyed catching up with familiar faces and hearing about their summer vacations!

BASH BASH

This year’s Back to School Bash at MPS was one for the books! With over 200 attendees, the event drew the largest crowd the PTA has seen in years. Families, students, and community members celebrated the start of a new school year with games, activities, snow cones, and Kidz BOP music, chosen by our fabulous new Principal Mrs. Chrisman. Connected Site Coordinator Jesse, aka “Mr. Cheesehead,” led the fun with support from Project Manager Michele Bowen and Impact Coordinator Sasha Miller, while the colorful artwork on Connected’s box truck served as a lively centerpiece.

Community partners LIFEPlan, ICAN, Oriskany Falls Public Library, Waterville Public Library, and MPS’s PTA helped create a welcoming space for families to connect with valuable resources. The event perfectly showcased the power of community partnerships and was a FUN-tastic way to kick off the 2025-2026 school year in Waterville, concluding with a visit from our friend Valerie Webb from Reality Check at the Jr-Sr High Open House.

CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS

IINJULY NJULY

The Connected Team had a blast at the Boonville Elementary PTA’s Christmas in July event! Around 75 children and families stopped by our table to play a variety of large games with Site Coordinator Walker. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to connect, have fun, and learn more about community resources together!
