The National Honor Society hosted their yearly Community Giveaway, and we were so thankful to have been a part of it. Community members were able to have a one stop shop with this event, as families could speak with Madison County Public health and collect clothes, food, and toys for their holiday season. We truly enjoy seeing the community come together each year for this wonderful day.

Your Madison Cafeteria and HUB was where the magic happened this month when we welcomed the Second Grade Class to test their culinary skills with cookie decorating. On December 18th approximately 40 students joined Ms. Bowen to participate in holiday cookie decorating. These little chefs were able to frost and decorate their own masterpieces amongst their friends. Once the decorating was completed, they enjoyed eating their cookies with cocoa all while listening to a holiday story. Building these holiday traditions within the school walls, we hope to foster so they are able to share with their families at home.

The Connected Initiative hosted it’s annual Community Elves Holiday Assistance project this month in preparation for the holiday season. Community Elves is an amazing collaboration with, local businesses, and generous donations from our community members to provide support and the opportunity for local families to ensure that their children have a joyous holiday. Over 100 of our stylized collection bins placed at local businesses were filled and returned to help ensure we were able to prepare for this year’s event.
This year, just over 500 Connected Rome families were able to come to the Connected Court on James Impact Center and “shop” our shelves that remained stocked from the 1st day on 12/15 through Christmas Eve on 12/24. Roughly 900 Connected Rome children ages birth through 20 were supported in a way in which parents are empowered to select the toys and gifts that they know their children will appreciate and benefit from.
