SILENT SILENT

As part of Franco’s Summer Lunch Program, Connected Central Valley brought fun and resources to families. While enjoying free lunches, students danced and sang at a Silent Disco, reconnecting with friends. Catholic Charities, the Neighborhood Center, and Excellus provided valuable family resources.

The team also hosted an Open HUB event, where families received food and hygiene items and connected with site coordinators. Community partners, including Remington Federal Credit Union, Bassett Healthcare, MVCAA, and Bridges Council, shared helpful resources. A special thank you to Franco’s for feeding our students and supporting these community events!

This year at our open House, the Dolgeville Connected Team welcomed several amazing community partners to share valuable information and opportunities with our district families!

Ms. Amanda Cowan from The Kelberman Center and Ms. Marina Bridgham from Cornell Cooperative Oneida County, joined us to provide parent support and share the importance of schedules, routines, and structure for children.

Mr. DuWayne Engram and Kevin Morales from the YWCA were also in attendance to chat with families about the new adaptation of the AMEND program—The Circle—bringing powerful education and support to our young men at DCS.

And thanks to our amazing local stylist, Ms. Lucinda Martyniuk-Davis, we had TWENTY free haircuts for our students!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our wonderful partners for making this event possible. It’s great to be Connected!

CARNIVAL CARNIVAL

The Herkimer County Connected Districts came together this summer to host a county-wide family carnival at the Herkimer ARC Park. It was a day designed to bring families together for fun, connection, and access to community resources. Staff from all four Connected Districts (Herkimer, Mt. Markham, Central Valley, and Dolgeville) collaborated as one team to plan and carry out the event. Their efforts created a welcoming and inclusive space where families enjoyed free games, food, and entertainment.

The carnival also featured over 26 local agencies, each sharing valuable information and resources with attending families. The event was a great success, and plans are already in motion to make it an annual tradition!
