Building Connections Through Family Literacy Connected Herkimer has collaborated with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County’s Child Care Council, Healthy Families, Herkimer Health Net, Help Me Grow, and the Frank Basloe Library to create a series of events designed for parents and their children. The first event took place during midwinter break and had an excellent turnout, with a focus on literacy and family engagement. Families had the opportunity to sign up for library cards, listen to a story, connect with community organizations, and create their own bookmarks. The next event in the series will be held April 9th from 2–4 PM at the Frank J. Basloe Library.
