Blue Earth
From the Blue Earth Chamber of Commerce and CVB: Our annual meeting to honor Business of the Year, the Rising Star and the Community Service awardees will take place on Jan. 21. Mankato
AMV Transportation recently received national accreditation from NEMTAC. AMV is the first Minnesota NEMT company to achieve national accreditation through NEMTAC. As a rural NEMT provider, AMV provides essential transportation services to Mankato and the surrounding communities.
Radio Mankato assumed management of the Southern Minnesota Home and Builders Show. The name of the show has been changed to the “Mankato Home Show.” The 2022 Mankato Home Show will be held at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center from March 11 to March13.
Radio Mankato named Brett Prescher as general manager, director of sales.
Marshall
From the Marshall Area Chamber: Marshall Public Schools and Murry County Central Schools are partnering to bring the Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities Program to junior and senior students, beginning in the 2022-23 school year. The CEO program is designed to utilize local business partnerships that provide students with an overview of business development and processes. Investors and mentors for the program are currently being recruited.
Marshall Public Schools is expanding its Career and Technical Education offerings. Marshall Public Schools has closed on its newest property, which will allow it to open the Marshall Career and Technical Institute beginning in the 2022-23 school year. The new campus will allow students to enroll in the Automotive Institute, Medical Institute and Construction Trades Institute to further their studies in those areas.

New Ulm
From the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center: Sarah Warmka has been named chamber president/CEO.
New chamber members include: O’rale Authentic Mexican Tacos & More, Foster White Insurance Agency, CorTech LLC, Sweethaven Tonics, B the Light, Redwood Valley Technical Solutions, NUMAS Haus and Caribou Coffee.
The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center’s annual women’s networking event, “Mingle With A Purpose Heels and All,” will be held on Feb. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Best Western. This year’s event features Holly Hoffman, the last woman standing on season 21 of CBS’ hit reality show “Survivor: Nicaragua.”
North Mankato
South Central College’s Customized Workforce Education department received a $49,998 grant award from the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership program to develop and deliver custom training for employer partner Precision Press Inc. The department also welcomed Cory Weston to its team. Weston is focused on developing and conducting workplace safety and health trainings for area employers, as well as
building new training programs like CDL, which is currently in development.
Spring semester at South Central College starts Jan. 10 and summer semester starts May 31. SCC offers everything from shortterm certificates to two-year associate degrees with a wide variety of agriculture, arts & sciences, career & technical and health sciences programs.
From the City of North Mankato: The Anthony Ford Pond Hockey Tournament will take place Jan. 29-30 at Spring Lake Park. North Mankato Taylor Library Edible Book Festival will be held in February.
New North Mankato businesses include: Frandsen Bank & Trust, Menari Body Works, Mi Pueblo Mexican Bar and Grill, The Beast, Mankato Med & Skin Clinic/The Skin Clinic MedSpa. Caribou Coffee will be coming soon to 1661 Commerce Drive.
Redwood Falls
Tech Unlimited opened an office in Redwood Falls at 414 East Bridge Street. Tech Unlimited works with both residential and business clients.
Sleepy Eye
From the Sleepy Eye EDA: The former Del Monte facility has been purchased by Chasing Our Tails and is currently processing pet treats.
A new shop called Serendipity Boutique is opening in November.
Sleepy Eye Brewing Company has seen so much success since opening that they have recently purchased an adjoining building and have added a deck and patio to the rear of the building and will be opening the new expansion in November.

St. Peter
From the St. Peter Area Chamber of Commerce: New businesses include The Wellness Nest and Smolder Cigar Emporium. Poshinte Kiddos opened a larger store at 305 S. Minnesota Ave.
Winterfest will take place Jan. 28 to Feb. 13. Events include the Medallion Hunt, Polar Plunge and more.
Waseca
First National Bank recently presented NRHEG Public Schools with $6,350 to purchase equipment and curriculum through their Panther Debit Card Donation Program. “During this season of giving, we are proud and honored to partner with area schools to positively impact the lives of our children,” said CEO and president of First National Bank, Bernie Gaytko.
From Waseca Economic Development: The Waseca Sleigh and Cutter Festival will be held on Feb. 2. Events include a Frosty the Snowman contest, medallion hunt, dinner/dance, snowmobile events, Farmamerica Winter Charm on the Farm and Flags for Veterans walk.
Winnebago
The City of Winnebago welcomes two new businesses to the community: Greenfield Global Winnebago LLC assumed a former manufacturing facility in late fall 2021 and Hideaway Pub LLC, formerly The Steel Wheel, reopened under new management on Main Street.
The City of Winnebago was selected as the site for the Faribault County Freedom Rock. Created by artist Ray “Bubba” Sorensen, The Freedom Rock was designed to honor veterans and provide a unique piece of art to each county.
