EDITOR’S NOTE

And so restrictions and isolation continue in this crazy year we call 2020! The second half of the year is one of mixed feelings. Whilst our friends in Brisbane and Perth are slowly getting back into some sort of party norm, our friends in Victoria are not so lucky and NSW is most likely not too far behind.

And in these changes we have seen businesses become more creative and expanding their services. We have seen more DIYs and we have seen parties live on. And if you need some convincing my friends then this edition of our mini-mag is definitely proof that despite the craziness of 2020, parties live on.

Things continue to be tough for everyone, though we Remember #PartySmallerPartyHarder - because a small continue to seek comfort in that fact that things will get party can still be mega on style, as you will soon see! better soon.

A LAID BACK, RELAXED PICNIC FOR A LITTLE SURFER (AKA GROM) WORDS BY CHLOE – LUXE SOIREES NOOSA Concept + styling @luxe_soirees_noosa Grazing station @gatherbybonnie

For this picnic, Luxe Soirées designed three zones to ensure a relaxed but well-styled vibe. There was a picnic set up for the kids full of delicious and nutritious goodies from Gather by Bonnie. A cosy nook for the Mums and Bubs and a gifts and grazing station complete with little surfboard cookies as thank you gifts.

A standout feature was the incredible surf cake made by Sweet P Cakes and Cookies. On top there was even a little cookie clone of the birthday boy himself! There were beach games a plenty! And so much room for the little groms to play all whilst in view of a watchful parental eye. After the cake was cut, all the kids raced down to the beach to swim and surf the day away. h

Party Mums came to the rescue when they were asked to plan and create an intimate family birthday picnic for a quaran’teen’ager celebrating a milestone birthday during lockdown. The birthday girl’s love of lemons fit perfectly with the theme ‘When life gives you lemons, make lemonade’.

Party highlights included beautiful scalloped edged tableware with gold foil detail, a white mini drinks trolley serving fresh homemade lemonade, mini lemon balloon straws and a bespoke lemon shaped piñata. The party centrepiece was a vintage dressing table filled with balloons, flowers and eucalyptus, displaying sweet treats which included mini popcorn boxes, chocolate bars, push pop sweeties and personalised cookies. All perfectly matched to the party theme. h
