Federal court dates set for 3 killings UIR By the CUJ

MISSION – Three enrolled members of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) will soon face trial for federal charges in three killings that have taken place on the Umatilla Indian Reservation since January 2021. The three alleged crimes took place on the Umatilla Indian Reservation and were initially responded to and investigated by the Umatilla Tribal Police Department (UTPD). UTPD was the lead investigative agency in all three deaths and was assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The US Attorney’s office later indicted Tom Redhawk Tias, Skylar Crowe, and Kawlija Scott in all three events.
