CONESTOGA COUNTRY CLUB Down the Middle
As summer winds down, September brings an exciting lineup of events and activities to Conestoga Country Club. As we celebrate Labor Day, I hope everyone has an opportunity to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. The holiday also marks the unofficial end of summer, and I would like to thank our entire team for making it such a successful season. Our year-round and seasonal employees worked incredibly hard to provide a great experience for our members and guests, and their dedication is sincerely appreciated. We are pleased to extend the pool season for one additional weekend. The pool will be open Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13, from noon to 5:00 p.m. Food will be available from the 19th Hole, along with bar service. Following this final weekend, the pool will be drained so renovations can begin. Our contractor will remove the existing plaster and tile and install new pool lights. The pool will then be refilled for the winter, with the new plaster and tile scheduled for installation in the spring. We are excited to complete these important improvements ahead of the 2027 pool season. September also features a terrific schedule of Club events. We will begin with Flavors at Sunset, followed by our Lump Sum Party, where we will celebrate and thank the Golf Members who supported the Club by paying their assessment upfront. Another highlight will be our always-popular Seafood Member-Guest, one of the most anticipated events on our calendar. We will close out the month with Oktoberfest, featuring traditional food, seasonal beverages and live entertainment from Jerry King’s Karnival Band. September is shaping up to be a memorable month at the Club. Be sure to review the calendar, make your reservations early and join us for these special events. SEPTEMBER AT CONESTOGA
This irrigation project is going very well. They did not encounter too many rocks which is great news, it was much lower than I expected. They are moving along nicely despite the weather in August and several tournament dates.As I write in this article, they got ten holes completed except for the greens loop. We can run 6 holes to troubleshoot the system. It is neat to see the new system up and running. As they complete a hole, they will immediately charge the hole. So basically, I have two irrigation systems running at the same time right now which is very strange to see! Once the new system is complete, they will shut down the old system and pull the old heads out. Everyday feels like Christmas with seeing the new system running! See you on the course! Matt

COOLER DAYS, FASTER GREENS & A NEW IRRIGATION SYSTEM Leaves are falling, football is on TV, and cooler days are coming! I love Fall season and golfing in the Fall is awesome due to fast greens; by turning the water off on the greens for the rest of the season.Speaking of water, this mother nature certainly is not helping us by dumping water on the greens. We got over 9 inches in 34 days. This makes the greens softer than normal, and it will slow the green speed down. Once the rain and humidity leaves, the greens will firm up and get faster.
