Welcome Back Members!

I’mthrilledtowelcomeyoutothereturnofDowntheMiddle,ourclubnewsletter designedtokeepyouinformedandengagedwitheverythinghappeningatConestoga CountryClub.Asweheadintoanexcitingyear,I’dliketotakeamomenttosharesome updatesandplansthatarealreadyinmotiontoenhanceyourexperience.

Ourteamhasbeenworkingdiligently,usingvaluablefeedbackfromtherecent membersurveytoidentifyareasforoperationalimprovements.We’recommittedto deliveringthebestpossibleexperience,andI’mpleasedtosharethatdepartment actionplanswillbesharedwithyoustartinginMarch.Theseplanswillhelpusfine-tune ourservicesandamenitiestobetteralignwithyourexpectations.

Oneexcitingupdateisinourdiningexperience—Chefhasbeenhardatworkcreating all-newmenusforthePubDiningRoomandthe19thHole.Wecan’twaitforyoutotry thefresh,innovativeofferingsthatshowcaseChef’screativityandcommitmentto deliveringexceptionalcuisine.Whetheryou’restoppingbyforacasualmealor celebratingwithfriendsandfamily,we’reconfidentyou’lllovethenewselections.

Onekeyareaoffocusthisyeariscommunication.Weunderstandhowimportantitis formemberstostayinformed,andwearedevelopingacomprehensivestrategyto ensureyounevermissoutonclubnews,events,andupdates.Whetherit’sthroughthis newsletter,ourwebsite,socialmedia,ordirectcommunications,ourgoalistokeepyou connectedandengaged.

Asweeagerlyanticipatethearrivalofspring,Ilookforwardtothereturnofgolfandthe beautifulweatherthatcomeswithit.Ourcommitteeshavebeenhardatworkplanning anexcitingseasonahead,andIwanttoexpressmygratitudetotheBoardofGovernors fortheirleadershipandstewardshipinguidingourclubforward.Theirdedication ensuresthatConestogaremainsaplacewecanallenjoyandbeproudof.

Behindthescenes,ourteamhasbeenbusyorganizing,cleaning,andmaking improvementstovariousareasoftheclub.We’vemadeenhancementsinthebusiness officeandinstalledanewsodamachineintheserverstationtoimprovediningroom efficiency.Additionally,ourleadershipteamisalreadylookingaheadto2025, strategizingwaystofurtherenrichyourmemberexperience.

Thankyouforyourcontinuedsupportandenthusiasm.Ilookforwardtoseeingyouall attheclubsoonandenjoyinganotherfantasticyeartogether.

SNOW SNOW, GO AWAY!

HappyNewYear!Welcometo2025!Thereareseveralthingsthatare happeningonthemaintenancedepartmentsidethatwewishtosharewith youwhileyouarewaitingforthesnowtomelt.

First,the6”layerofsnowwasablessing.Itprotectsandinsulatestheturf fromextremelycoldweatherthatwehadduringtheweekofJanuary20th. Theairwouldbeinasingledigitorbelow0degreeswhiletheturf underneathisatabalmy30to32degrees.

Lately,wehavebeencuttingdowntreesthroughoutthegolfcoursethatare eitherdamagedordeadbeforeitbecomesaliabilityforourmembers. Nothingmajorordrastic!

Wehaveremovedthealleywallwherethetrafficgoesfrom5Greento6 Tee.Thiswallwasinbadshape,withrottenwoodandpanels. Inmy19years tenurehereatConestoga,Ihavenotseenanyonehitthatwallornetfrom#1 tee.Whatreallyhelpsisthatwenowhaveagreenteefurtherupfromthe teeboxesforbeginners.Inthepast,weplantedbutterflybushesbetween1 teeandthewalltohelpsoftentheboundaryandperhapshelpblockan errantshot.

Duringthecoldspell,wehavebeenupkeepingthecourseaccessories(tee markers,garbagecans,ballwashers,bagrack,cups,etc).Wealsohavebeen cleaningandperformingpreventativemaintenancetoourfleetof equipment.

AsIwritethisletter,itisbalmy38degreesandthesnowisbeginningtomelt. However,duetothestubbornsnowandcoldtemperaturesitmaytakesome timeforthecoursetoopen.Pleasedonotgooutonthecourseuntilyou hearfromthemanagementteam. Wearereadytogetbackonthecoursetodomoretreeworkandfinishthe fenceprojectaroundtheshop.Only31daysuntilMarch1st!!

The2025MGADeepinplanningstagesfortheupcomingseasonandthe2025 MGAScheduleshouldbefinalizedinthecomingweeks.TheThree-DayMember Guestwillhighlighttheyear’sscheduleonJune12th,13thand14th.Wewillhost2 onedayMember-Guests,thefirstinMayandsecondinSeptember.Theschedule willbesentoutandpostedonthewebsiteinearlyFebruary.

Belowareafewhighlightswearepreparingfor:

JUNIORGOLF:

JuniorGolfscheduleforclinicsandplaydateswillalsobepostedonthewebsite andemailed.Wearelookingforwardtobuildingonlastyear’sprogramwithmore gamesandcompetition.Also,intheplanningstageisaninterclubserieswith LancasterC.C.,BentCreekandMeadiaHeights.StaytunedforMoreInformation.

MEN’SLEAGUE:

WewillwelcometheleaguebacktoThursdayNightsstartingwitha5:30pm shotgunstart.WewillbepostingtheschedulebyMarch1stwithastartdatein May.FormatswillvaryandChristianwillbeofferingfeatureditemafterwardsin the19thholeorpub.

LADIES5ANDDINE

Wednesdaynightwewillofferthe5anddineeventsforbeginnerladiesandgive everyonetheopportunitytomeetnewmembers.Thiswillstartat5:30withtee timesanddrinkandappetizerfeaturesavailableinthePubafterwards. RegistrationwillbeintheProShopandwillstartinMay.

IlookforwardtosendingyouacompleteactionplaninMarch.

CCC Women’s Golf Association

TheConestogaWomen’sGolfAssociationisopentoallwomen‘golfmembers’,regardlessof yourability.Whetheryou'reaseasonedgolferorjuststartingout,you'rewelcometojoinusfor aseasonfilledwithcamaraderie,competition,andfun.Thisyear,wehaveexcitingeventsand tournamentslineduptomakeyourgolfingexperiencememorable.

Youcanjoineitherthe9-holeor18-holeleague,orboth.TheleaguesoperatefromApril1to October1.

The9-holeleaguemeetsonTuesdaymorningsat9a.m.andprovidesafunandsocial environmentforwomenofallskilllevels.

The18-holeleagueschedulesweeklytournamentsonbothweekdaysandweekendsto accommodatedifferentschedules.WeeklytournamentstakeplaceonWednesday morningswithteetimesstartingat8:30a.m.,andadditionaltournamentsareorganized fortheweekends.Thereareseparateflightsbasedonhandicap,andprizesintheformof ProShopcreditareawardedforgrossandnetscores.Variousindividualandteam tournamentformatsareplannedthroughouttheseason.

Themembershipduesforthe18-holeleagueare$85ifpaidbyMarch12.AfterMarch12,the dueswillincreaseto$95.Therearenomembershipduesrequiredforthe9-holeleague.Please filloutthe2025registrationformandspecifytheleague(s)youwishtojoin.

PleaseNote:Thisyear,theregistrationinformationfortheWomen’sCentralPennsylvaniaGolf Association(CentralPenn/WCPGA)isnotincludedontheWGAregistrationform. Membershipduesandtournamentsign-upswillbemanagedthroughGolfGenius.Further detailswillbesharedwhenavailable.
