Rivendell Academy's Uniform Policy is founded in a desire to cultivate a professional culture that is neat, orderly, and honors God in our attire. This policy is based on the following principles:
Gentlemen
Hair must be kept in a traditional boys haircut, above collar and neatly groomed
No coloring or unnatural look of hair permitted. No distinctive lines or different lengths of hair
No chains, earrings, body piercing jewelry or visible tattoos
Watches are the only visible jewelry allowed for boys; they can not make noise, have smart technology, or be cumbersome to wear
If watches becomes a distraction the teacher has the discretion to request it be removed
Shirts must be tucked in
Belt must be worn
Ladies
Hair must be natural colors and feminine
Hair accessories must be fitting to the style of the uniform, which is modest and conservative
Primary students: no makeup or artificial nails
Nail polish is allowed as long as the colors are classy and fitting to the uniform
Earrings are allowed and must be classy and fitting to the uniform; no body piercing jewelry
Watches can not make noise, have smart technology or be cumbersome to wear
If hair accessories or jewelry become a distraction, the teacher has the discretion to request they be removed
Belts must be worn with khaki pants when shirts are tucked in. Shirts may be untucked with khaki pants when waistline is covered by shirt.

*Blue red plaid skirt/skort or pleated khaki skirt (as close to knee-length as possible) OR khaki pants (leggings are not a substitute for pants)
Skorts, shorts or spanx must be worn under under skirts for modesty;
Primary Ladies may also wear the plaid jumper.
*Girls can wear pants with their formal uniform on Dress-up day
Shoes may be black, brown, white, or grey (with no pattern/print or neon colors allowed, soles can be different color than top of shoe, but must be black, brown, white, or grey as well)
White Knee high Socks and/or white tights
Navy Sweater/ Navy Blazer/Navy Fleece Pullover No Hoodies
*Rivendell branded outwear can be worn over uniform
