LOYOLA LANDING Fantastic update! Business Services at Loyola Landing is booming and a big draw for the space. We’ve set up shop in a fresh new permanent office, strategically closer to the entrance. Starting December 4, we’ll be there five days a week, by appointment until the Holiday break.

Come January 8, services will resume and will be put into high gear with longer opening hours, promotions and partnering with the Student Success Centre and Campus tours!

NACAS | National Association of College Auxiliary Services. The largest professional auxiliary services support organization serving higher education such as food services, bookstores, housing, and transportation.

Melanie participated in the Nacas conference in Toronto, exploring new products and technologies, engaging with various vendors, attending conferences, and gaining insights into electric parking, carbon credits and other cutting-edge ideas.

She is on the lookout for innovative and revenue-driven concepts to implement in our operations, drawing inspiration from initiatives put together by other schools across Canada and the USA.

Revamped ID card corner The ID card area is set for a refreshed new look in preparation for the upcoming back-to-school season! A vinyl backdrop will be installed behind the counter, and a coroplast sign will be affixed to the front of the counter, mirroring the design of the Print Store’s counter front.

A photo shoot with UCS is also scheduled for November 22.

NACCU | National Association of Campus Card users Exciting news! We’ve entered the graduated ID card visual, designed by UCS, for the NACCU Best card design award. This prestigious award is presented annually, and the winner is decided by votes from NACCU member. Fingers crossed as we eagerly await the results in February!

NEW TO THE DPRINT TEAM Welcome to the new part-time DPrint Customer Service Representative Corey Bianchi, a JMSB student.

Teaming up with David, Corey is all set to keep DPrint devices in top shape. From adding paper and toner to clearing jams, cleaning devices, and ensuring everything runs smoothly, on both campuses.

Staff Spotlight Getting to know..

What is one thing you wish people knew about your job?

I handle a lot of customer service from answering questions, resolving issues over the phone or by emails to providing on-site support for parking and locker rentals. I also take care of the clerical tasks like accounting and statistics. I’m always keen on streamlining my work by automating processes, often creating customized Excel files to align with operational requirements.

What is your favourite holiday?

I love xmas! I’m the chef in charge, the mastermind behind all the family and friend’s gathering with good food, music, and drinks. I throw a sleepover trivia night with hot coco and Bailey’s. It’s always a blast!

What makes you laugh?

I’m a total goofball and laughter comes easy to me. I enjoy the silly things and I have no problem poking fun at myself. It’s safe to say that I find joy in the little things.

What motivates you?

My daughter Savannah was and is my biggest motivation. I hustled to provide her with the best, aimed to be a role model, and created a world filled with positive vibes for her.

What is one thing on your bucket list?

I’m into spirituality from tarot cards to candle wax reading. I’d loved to go to all places surrounded by healing energy like the Northern lights, the Arizona healing springs, or the mystical Stonehenge.

What couldn’t you live without?

Going to the material stuff, I’m all about online shopping. I can’t stand the whole in-store shopping scene, sifting through racks of clothes. I’ve been riding the online wave since the 90’s.

Favourite music? Soca music is my thing I even listen to it in the car! I’m also into reggae, anything that will makes you feel like dancing.

RECOGNITIONS s Joanna Baldwin and the Print Store team, Stuart O’Driscoll, Rita Goudreau and Liza Eidelman received thank you notes from both the English Department and Enrollment Services.

The English Department praised their assistance in coordinating signage, programs, and nametags for the Montreal International Security Summit.

Enrollment Services acknowledged their invaluable support in producing a wide range of materials, including programs, flyers, nametags, pocket folders, and meal tickets for the Canadian Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies 2023 Congress.

The Print Store and Print Advisory played a pivotal role in this year’s Open House from posters, volunteer t-shirts, event guides, postcards and handouts to roll-up banners, stress-balls, USB keys, reusable metal straws with carrying case and lip balms.

DPrint contest Until November 27, students can enter the DPrint contest for the chance to win one of ten $10 DPrint credit.

Locker rental news New lockers are now up for grabs on the 4th floor of the Hall Building. Plus, a winter sale promotion will start on January 1 and run until July 31.
