Chinese Writing Contest
Concordian International School successfully held the 11th “Wen Xin” Cup Chinese Writing Contest on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. The contest showcased students’ creativity and critical thinking through writing, while inspiring their passion for the Chinese language.
“文 Wen” means essay, literary. “心 Xin” means heart, core. “ 文心 Wen Xin” is also the first two characters of the famous Chinese literary critique “文心雕龙 The Mind of Literature and Carving Dragons” (AD 501-502) which first advocated for valuing both the content and text format in writing in Chinese history.
Concordian International School 于2025年4月1日（星期 二）成功举办第十一届 “ 文心杯 ” 中文写作大赛。
大赛展示了学生的创造力与思辨力，并激发了他 们对中文学习的热情与兴趣。
“ 文 ” 意为文章、文学； “ 心 ” 意为心灵、核心。 “ 文 心”也是中国著名文学批评著作《文心雕龙》（公 元 501—502 年）的前两个字，该书首次在中国文学 史上提出写作应同时重视内容与形式。

我写中文的时候，用了很多学过的词，比如用我 学过的发展词、安全词、挑战词等等。这些词我 以前学过但很久没用，所以现在用的时候有点 难。有时候我忘记怎么写，但是慢慢写就能想起 来。我也喜欢用简单的词，因为太难的话我会写 错。写作让我觉得中文很有意思，虽然有时候很 难。我希望以后写得更快、更少出错。

Wow! I am absolutely stunned by what I have accomplished. Coming into this test, I didn’t believe I would be able to win anything. But I challenged that doubt, and it turned out for the best. I truly appreciate my Chinese teachers, both from today and throughout the years, and I am also grateful to my mom for encouraging me to work hard on my Chinese every night.

I am honored and happy to win this year’s Chinese writing competition. By paying attention in class, applying key vocabulary, practicing sentence structures, and reviewing at home, I improved my writing. Winning the Chinese Writing Competition was an unexpected joy that boosted my confidence. Though I felt unprepared, effort and creativity still shone through. 大多数人认为，文心杯不过是一个普通的写作比 赛，其实不然。对我而言，文心杯更像是一位耐 心而睿智的老师。每一次参赛的过程，不仅锻炼 了我的写作能力，更让我在思维、表达和审美方 面都有了显著的提升。文心杯所给予喔的反馈与 启发，让我每一次参与都收获颇丰，受益匪浅。

Winning the Wen Xin Contest was unexpected but made me proud. Writing about my sister as a role model inspired me, and through this contest I improved my Chinese grammar and writing skills. This experience strengthened my confidence and ability to express ideas more effectively.
