Clubs Chess Club
The Chess club began as a small idea I had in mind when the Chess craze took over the world last December, but has since grown to unimaginable heights! Thanks to our advisor, Mr. Vijay, and his constant support, we have held several meetings which have helped our players improve exponentially! In particular, special events such as the simuls game against Ninja, or the upcoming simuls against Mr. Vijay are events we all look forward to and have the most fun at, so I encourage everyone to join the chess club so they can partake in such fun activities! Not only does it aid one’s application, but it also serves to provide fun and learning opportunities so that people can improve alongside their peers!
Biotech Society
Tsheyang (G12) Chess Club President
Welcome to another academic year! This year, a brand new club that is available for all students has opened up! Bio-Tech Society is not only a club that entertains the most fascinating ideas about future prospects in human biology, but a club that will bring individuals who share the same passion together to achieve excellence. As a discussion-based club, we host meetings to discuss the purpose, function and ethicality of various technologies. However, the club is also insanely fun, with activities like games in each meeting to ensure everyone has learned something new! Biotechnology is one of the most intriguing branches of biology, and it has become a very real possibility for it to become even more prevalent. So, what is stopping you from learning more about it? You don’t need to be extremely passionate about biotechnology, because anyone with a curious mind and thirst for knowledge is welcome in our new club! 50 52 CONCORDIAN IMPACT - ISSUE 38
We will be discussing three topics this year, including: biosensors, genetic engineering, and 3D bioprinting. However, you are always free to explore whatever you want! Moreover, our officer team is planning some upcoming conferences, so stay tuned! Now, what are you waiting for? If you are currently in Grade 9 or above, come and pop in; we’d love to have you! Hope to see you there! Sheen (G10) Bio-Tech Society President,
Crisis Relief Club
Our first project was a big success, and it was all thanks to the
wonderful support from our school community. We managed to collect 145,526 baht to help people in Turkey who were affected by the recent earthquakes. But we're just getting started! We have big dreams. At Crisis Relief Fund, We want to help the people that had the rug pulled underneath their feet, those who lost everything in an instant, and those who seek the most support. We hope the community will be more active and engaging when it comes to helping the less fortunate. We believe that when we all work together, we can really make a difference and help communities heal and grow stronger!
