PY Chinese Writing Contest

Concordian International School successfully hosted its 12th annual PY Chinese Writing Contest in March 2026. The contest aimed to inspire a love for writing and foster student creativity. We take great pride in the outstanding writing skills demonstrated by all participating students from Grades 1 to 5. It was truly a wonderful showcase of their writing abilities.
The following are the writing topics this year. Out of fairness, the topics were announced to both teachers and students on the day of their contest.

On Friday, May 1st, 2026, four different awards were announced in each class and grade level.
• The Class Excellent Writer Award (1st place of the class)
• The Class Great Writer Award (2nd place of the class)
• The Grade Level Excellent Writer Award (1st place of the grade level)
• The Grade Level Great Writer Award (2nd place of the grade level)
Congratulations to all the amazing young writers. Let’s hear what they want to share with the school community regarding writing, winning, and learning Chinese at Concordian!

G1C Darlene: 我很兴奋，因为我得到第一名的奖 杯。我想感谢中文老师因为她教我怎么写作， 所以我得奖了。I am so excited that I won the first place trophy. I want to thank my Chinese teacher because she taught me how to write.
G1C Nicha: 我很兴奋，因为这是我的第一次写作比 赛，我也拿到奖杯。我想感谢中文老师，因为中 文老师教我怎么写故事。I‘m so thrilled because this is my first writing contest and I won a trophy. I want to thank my Chinese teacher for teaching me how to write stories.
G1I Nitee: 我很开心，因为这是我第一次拿到奖 杯。我想感谢中文老师，因为她教我中文。I am delighted as this is the first time I have won a trophy. I thank my Chinese teachers for teaching me.
G1I Plearn: 我很开心，因为我得到奖杯了。我要感 谢爸爸妈妈，因为他们照顾我，还有谢谢老师教 我中文。I feel great that I won the trophy. I thank my dad and mom for taking care of me and also thank my teacher for teaching me Chinese.
G1S Mason: 我得到大奖杯，我真兴奋啊！因为 Ms.Han 告诉我怎么写，我觉得我会得一个奖杯， 没想到是两个。 I won a big trophy, and I am so excited! Ms. Han taught me how to write in class. I thought I would win one trophy, but I never expected to get two!
G1S Nara: 我又自豪又开心，我没想到我会得到 奖杯，我要谢谢我的老师Ms.Han。I didn’t think that I would win any trophy. I feel so proud and happy! I want to thank my teacher, Ms. Han.
G1S Howie: 我得到了全年级第一名和班级第一名， 我又惊喜又开心。我非常感谢我的妈妈。她陪 我练习，才让我得到奖杯。I won 1st place in the entire grade and 1st place in my class. What a surprise and joy for me! I want to thank my mom for practicing with me.
G1D Claire: 我很开心今天得到我们班的第一名，因 为我很努力练习写长长的句子，还有我的妈妈帮 助我练习写汉字。I'm very pleased to get first place in my class today because I practiced writing long sentences very hard, and my mom helped me practice writing Chinese characters.
G1D Poh: 我很开心，因为在英文写作比赛我是第 一名，中文写作比赛是第二名，都拿到了奖杯。 明年的目标是都拿第一名。I got 1st place in the English writing contest and 2nd place in the Chinese writing contest. It feels amazing to win both. My goal for next year is to get 1st place in both.
G2C Cotton: 我又开心又兴奋，没想到我能拿奖。 为了这次比赛，我练习了很多超级词语，感谢我 的中文老师，教我们写作文的方法，让我拿到班 级第一名。I am so thrilled because I never expected to win an award. I practiced using many juicy words in my writing. I’d like to thank my Chinese teacher for teaching me how to write. and helping me win first place in my class.
G2C Nate: 我很开心能拿中文写作比赛的奖，如果 明年你们也想拿奖，那要好好写，标点符号写在 对的地方。也要谢谢我的中文老师，希望三年级 我还能拿奖！I feel really proud to win. If you want to win next year, make sure you write carefully and put punctuation marks in the right places. I want to thank my Chinese teacher. I hope I can win again in third grade!
G2I Bella: 我真的很高兴，因为我一年级只拿了班 级第一，但我今年不仅拿了班级第一，还拿了年 级第一，而且我在英文写作比赛也拿了第二名。 我要感谢我的中文老师和英文老师。I'm over the moon! In first grade, I only got first place in my class, but this year I got first place in my class and first place in the whole grade. On top of that, I also got second place in the English writing contest. I want to thank my Chinese teacher and my English teacher.
G2I Gina: 我感到又开心又自豪，当我听到我的名字 的时候，我觉得非常惊喜。这次中文作文比赛我 用了很多超级词语，希望明年我还可以拿奖。 My heart is full of joy and pride. It was such a surprise when my name was announced! I used lots of juicy words for the Chinese writing contest. I hope I can win again next year!
G2S Vivi: 我非常的开心，也很惊讶，因为这是我 第一次拿到中文写作的奖杯，我希望明年我可以 拿到年级的奖杯。This is my first time winning a Chinese Writing Contest trophy. This is a complete surprise and I am so delighted. I hope that I will get a grade-level award next year.
G2S Pim: 我很开心，我的爸爸妈妈也很开心，我希 望明年继续努力，也继续拿奖。I am so thrilled, so are my parents! I will continue to study hard and hope that I will win an award again next year.
G2D Layla: 我很开心，因为我得了两个奖。我很感 谢我的老师，因为她教我怎么写作。I am over the moon now because I won two trophies. I am very grateful to my teacher as she taught me how to write.
G2D Chun:我很开心，也很自豪。我的妈妈也很惊 讶，因为这是我第二次得奖。我希望我三年级的 时候，可以得第一名。I feel awesome and really proud of myself. My mom is also surprised because this is my second time I’ve won an award. I hope I will get first place in third grade.
G2D Aaron: 这是我第一次拿奖，我很开心，也很 兴奋，还有一点紧张。因为我没有想到自己会得 奖。This is my first time winning an award. I am happy and excited, yet a bit nervous, as I didn’t expect that I would win.
G3C Sanya: 当我知道我得奖，我兴奋地跳起来了。 我觉得我写作可以得奖是因为我每天都在家写日 记和看各种各样的中文书。希望我下次可以得年 级第一！I jumped up with joy when my name was announced. I won because I write in my diary every day and read all kinds of Chinese books at home. Next time, I hope to get first place in the grade!
G3C Vela: 很开心我能得奖，我想感谢中文老师教 我写作技巧，也谢谢妈妈和姐姐鼓励我写作时不 要紧张。I am so glad I won an award. I thank my Chinese teacher for teaching me writing techniques, and also thank my mom and sister for encouraging me not to be nervous when writing.
G3I Proud : 我兴奋极了！因为我第一次得年级第 一。我在写作前我会先在草稿纸上写下每一段要 写什么，这让我思路更清晰，写完后也认真检 查修改。以后我也要一直这样做。I was absolutely thrilled to get first place in the grade for the first time! Before writing, I drafted key ideas for each paragraph, which helped me develop the writing more clearly. After finishing, I carefully checked and edited my writing. I'll keep using this strategy.
G3I Naya : 我非常想感谢妈妈，因为刚开始我一直 担心我写不好，是妈妈的鼓励让我不着急了。也 感谢中文老师和我的奶奶帮我练习。以后有比赛 我觉得我不会那么着急了。I’d like to thank my mom for her encouragement that helped me stop feeling anxious. I am also grateful to my grandma and my Chinese teacher for helping me practice. In future contests, I won’t be this nervous anymore.
G3D Claire：我很开心得了第一名，我觉得每天上 课认真听课，认真完成功课很重要，我也希望明 年还可以得奖！但是我不知道家里还有没有地方 放奖杯了，因为有很多！I am so thrilled that I got 1st place. I think it’s really important to stay attentive in class and complete the home learning everyday. I hope that I will win again next year! I may need to find room at home to put another trophy I won!
G3D Ava：我觉得很自豪也很开心！我要谢谢曼 谷英汉国际学校和中文老师们！因为如果没有学 校和老师，我就不可能会读中文，写中文！我希 望明年我还可以得奖！ I am so proud and joyful! I want to thank Concordian and my Chinese teachers. Without them, I would never be able to read and write Chinese. I hope that I will win again next year.
G3S Ocean: 我真的太开心了！因为我一直很努力 学习，所以我觉得这次得奖对我来说是很大的鼓 励。明年我还会更加努力！我也感谢我的妈妈 的付出，还有老师们的付出！ This award is a great encouragement to my hard work. I will study even harder next year. I want to thank my mom and my teacher for everything they have done for me!
G3S Davin: 我很惊喜啊！我不知道我会得奖，我 想要感谢我的爸爸妈妈，还有所有教过我的老师 们！我想要继续努力！得奖的感觉太好了！ This award came as a complete surprise to me. I want to thank my dad, my mom, and all the teachers who have taught me. Winning a trophy feels amazing!
G3S Max: 我感到非常高兴！因为去年我只得了第 二名，而今年我得到第一名！所以我非常开心， 我也要谢谢老师的教导和妈妈的支持！Last year, I only got 2nd place, but this year, I won 1st place. This made me truly happy. I thank my teacher for her guidance and my mom for her support.
G4C Tyra: 我感到很开心，因为这是我第三次在中 文写作比赛得奖了。我想感谢我的爸爸妈妈和中 文老师们，因为当我有问题的时候，他们都会帮 助我。This is my third year of winning the Chinese Writing Contest. I’m really happy. I want to thank my parents and Chinese teachers, because whenever I have a problem, they always help me.
G4C Milyn: 我从来没想过自己能在中文写作比赛得 奖，当我知道得奖的时候，我又惊讶又开心。 我想谢谢妈妈给我的支持。I never expected to win an award in a Chinese writing contest. I was so surprised and delighted. I want to thank my mom for her support.
G4I Mook: 我很激动获得全班第一名和全年级第二 名，也想感谢所有中文老师的指导与鼓励。
I’m so thrilled that I got first place in my class and second place in the entire grade. I want to thank all my Chinese teachers for their guidance and encouragement.
G4I Punn: 我很高兴能得第二名，明年我要继续努 力。这次能得奖，我想感谢妈妈和中文老师的鼓 励。Winning 2nd place in my class brings me so much joy! I will continue to study hard next year. For this success, I’d like to thank my mom and my Chinese teacher for their encouragement.
G4S Patty: 我觉得非常开心，我要感谢我的中文 老师们帮助我，每次我有错误的时候都及时纠 正，让我取得好成绩。感谢我的爸爸妈妈每天 督促我学习，也建立了自信心。I’d like to thank my Chinese teachers for their guidance. When I made a mistake, they gave me feedback and helped me improve. I also want to thank my parents for keeping me on track with my studies and helping me build my confidence.
G4S Thanks: 我很激动，真的没有想到我会得奖， 我要感谢老师们和我的妈妈爸爸给我支持，也 感谢我自己的努力。I never imagined that I would win an award in this Chinese writing contest. I am so excited. I am thankful for all the support from my teachers and my parents. I also want to thank myself for all the hard work.
G4S Morris: 我要感谢我的老师们教了我很多知 识。我也要感谢我的妈妈给我买了很多书，让我 积累了很多好词好句，比如， “失败是成功之 母 ” 就是我在书上学到的，作文比赛才能获得成 功。I‘d like to thank all my teachers for teaching me so much. I also want to thank my mom for buying me so many books. Through reading, I learned many good expressions, such as “Success often grows out of failure,” and that helped me win this writing contest.
GG4D Kitty: 我要感谢我的老师和家人。我也非常开 心今年能得奖，希望我明年能够保持这个成绩。
I want to thank my teachers and my family. I am very happy to have won an award this year, and I hope I can maintain this result next year.
G4D Anya: 我很开心，我要感谢中文老师们和我的 爸爸妈妈鼓励我，我才能做得这么好。 Winning this writing contest makes me so happy. I couldn't have done so well without the encouragement of my Chinese teachers and my parents. I‘d like to thank them all!
G5C Fah: 这一次得奖是我在小学阶段得到的最后 一个写作比赛的奖项了，非常感谢我的中文老师 在写作上给我的帮助，我希望我以后也通过不断 的努力，再次获得成功。This is the final award I can get in PY. I want to thank my Chinese teacher for helping me become a better writer and win again this time. I will continue to work hard and hope to succeed again.
G5C Navin: 非常得难以置信我在小学最后一次写 作比赛中获得了第二名。我非常感谢老师给我 的指导和帮助。我为自己感到自豪，希望以后我 继续努力拿到更多的奖项！I can hardly believe that during my last year in the PYP, I won the 2nd place in the Chinese writing contest. I want to thank my teacher for the support and guidance. I feel so proud of myself. I'll keep studying hard and hope to win even more awards!
G5C Stephanie: 我很开心能够得奖，我自己非常的 喜欢写作文，虽然我拿到了奖杯，但是我不会骄 傲，我觉得在下一次我还可以进步也要感谢老 师对我的帮助和指导让我获得了这次的成功。 I'm absolutely delighted to have won the trophy. I really enjoy writing. Winning is great, but I will keep my feet on the ground and continue to improve my writing. I’d like to thank my teacher for all the support and guidance that led me to this success.
G5C Nico: 我感觉非常的开心和高兴，这是我第二 次拿到作文比赛的奖杯，我要感谢所有帮助我的 中文老师，也要感谢我的爸爸妈妈对我的支持， 我希望下一次可以更加的努力得到第一名。This is the second time winning in 2nd place in the writing contest. I want to thank all the Chinese teachers who helped me, and also thank my mom and dad for their support. I hope that next time I can work even harder and get first place.
G5S Anya: 拿奖真的是太意外了! 因为我只写了一 页半，其他人比我写得多。我学到了字数不表示 质量。我要感谢自己，因为自己非常努力地学习 中文，也感谢老师教我中文。 It came as a surprise that I won because I wrote only one and a half pages, while others wrote more. This tells me that quality beats length. I want to thank myself for studying hard and thank my teacher for teaching me Chinese.
G5S Nana: 我很开心今年是第四次在中文写作比赛 中得奖了。今年我觉得自己写得不太好，比如我 可以在写字方面进步。我想要谢谢爸爸妈妈和老 师对我的支持和帮助。This is my fourth time winning in the Chinese writing contest. I can still improve my writing by writing more correct Chinese characters. I want to thank my parents and teachers for their support.
G5S Runa: 这次得奖我非常开心、非常兴奋。在这 次比赛之前，我提前做了很多准备，一直在阅读 记叙文的文章，这样就可以在写作中用一些好词 好句。感谢妈妈，和我一起准备这次比赛，也感 谢自己的努力。I am so thrilled with this success! I kept reading narrative texts to prepare for the contest. I used more juicy words in my writing. I want to thank my mom for preparing for this contest with me, and also thank myself for my hard work.
G5I Hana: 我感到骄傲和自傲，没有想到自己会拿 到作文比赛的奖杯。希望我以后继续努力，写 出更好的作文，拿到更多的奖杯！I feel so proud of myself. I never expected to win a trophy in this writing contest. I will continue to study hard, improve my writing and hope to win even more trophies in the future.
G5I Nita : 小学五年，除了四年级，每年写作比赛 我都拿奖。去年我很失落，经过一年的努力，我 再次拿奖， 我真自豪啊！我感谢老师们耐心地 教导我, 以后我会更加努力，让自己变得更好， 让爸爸妈妈为我而感到骄傲。In all my primary years, I didn’t win the writing contest just in G4. I was sad last year, but I worked harder since then and won again this year. I‘d like to thank my teachers for their guidance. I will keep studying hard, improving myself, and making my parents proud.
G5D Patrick: 我有一点预感自己会得奖，因为我觉 得自己写得很好。我想感谢妈妈的帮助，因为在 比赛前她让我读中文的文章，同时也感谢自己的 努力。I had a feeling I might win because I thought my writing was really good, and I did! I want to thank my mom. She told me to read Chinese before the contest. I also want to thank myself for working hard.
G5D Nenae: 我觉得很开心，因为我没有很大的信 心会赢。今年是第三次在中文写作比赛中得奖 了，我非常感谢老师教我中文，也感谢爸爸妈 妈支持我。I wasn’t confident that I would win this year, but surprisingly, I did! This is my third time winning in the Chinese writing contest. I feel so thrilled and want to thank my teachers and parents for their support.
