K3 & G4 Field Trip to Sea Life Bangkok
O
n Friday, May 15th, 2026, the K3 students were excited to take a trip to Sea Life Bangkok located in Siam Paragon. The students had the opportunity to explore a variety of fascinating underwater habitats and observe many different sea creatures up close. One of the highlights that the students kept talking about was walking through the underwater tunnel, where sharks, rays, and colorful fish swam all around and seeing so many new animals that they had never seen before.
The K3 students enjoyed observing different marine species, including seahorses, jellyfish, starfish, penguins and a variety of sharks. Many students eagerly shared interesting facts they learned throughout the day and tied their experiences back to their learning in the classroom. They had a fantastic time learning about and experiencing life under the sea. The visit to Sea Life Aquarium was not only educational but also a fun adventure that sparked curiosity and appreciation for the amazing world beneath the ocean’s surface.

Grade 4 visited the magical underwater world of Sea Life Bangkok for their field trip.
It was an educational and inspirational experience that took us through shark tunnels where we met Susie, the 30 year old sting ray, who looked like a shark. We spotted a few black tip reef sharks and were amazed to learn that when their teeth fall out, they just rotate one forward from the back row.
The penguins were a huge hit but most didn’t want to swim despite our encouragement, as they were waiting for their morning snack and knew we had no tasty treats for them.
Jelly fish, pot- bellied sea horses, sea dragons and sword fish were just some of the amazing creatures that we observed and learned about from our knowledgeable guide.
After a tasty lunch in Blu O, we finished up our field trip with a 4D movie, “The bear and the Squirrel” which was the highlight of the day for many students and a super connection with our current UOI on ecosystems.
Grade 4 were models students the whole day, funny, interested and full of gratitude for their fun day out.

G7 Field Trip to Museum Siam
As part of the Grade 7 Quarter 4 Thai unit on Mom (มอม), the short story by M.R. Kukrit Pramoj, students explored the historical and cultural context behind the story through both performance and experiential learning. Students first watched Mom the Musical, which helped bring the emotions and realities of World War II to life.
The learning experience continued with a field trip to Museum Siam, on May 14th, where students visited the “Decoding Thainess” exhibition. Through interactive exhibits and historical displays, students learned about the lives of Thai people from the past to the present. The trip helped students better understand the social context reflected in Mom while also encouraging them to reflect on their own identity as Thai people today.
After the trip, students completed thoughtful “See–Think–Wonder” reflections. Petra reflected on “how Thailand changed through the generations,” while Yang Yang connected the exhibition to the idea of Thai “soft power.” Proud reflected on how war could completely change a person’s life, and several students wondered how “Thainess” may continue to evolve in the future.
Overall, the field trip successfully connected literature, history, culture, and self-reflection into one meaningful learning experience.

Rehearsals, Culture, and Connection
The Association for Music in International Schools (AMIS) hosted this prestigious event at the Korea International School – Jeju Campus. Under the baton of internationally renowned conductor Ms. Maria Ellis, students immersed themselves in an extended weekend of intense rehearsals, community activities, and cultural exploration.
The event kicked off with a vibrant welcome showcase featuring various Korean school and community groups, introducing the visiting musicians to the beauty of Jeju Island. From there, the hard work began. Students spent hours refining their repertoire, honing their musicality, and building deep connections with fellow performers and teachers—all centered around the undeniable power of shared song.

Beyond the Sheet Music

However, it wasn’t all work and no play! Between rigorous rehearsal blocks, students experienced the best of Jeju. They explored the nearby Shinhwa World resort for local shopping and cuisine, visited the stunning beaches at the Jungmun Tourist Complex, and let loose at a student-organized “K-Fest” evening packed with Korean street food and activities. These moments allowed our students to embrace cultural diversity, bond with new friends, and unwind after long days of rehearsal and preparation.
A Brilliant Finale
The final gala concert was nothing short of spectacular. Grounded in the theme “Connection through Music,” the repertoire showcased incredible international diversity.
Performances ranged from the spirited Latin rhythms of Domine Deus to the haunting beauty of Mozart’s Lacrimosa, exploring classical expressions of human connection.
Meanwhile, contemporary pieces like Connected and I Dream a World offered moving visions of modern freedom and hope.
A standout highlight was the breathtaking performance of the Korean composition Golden Field, which featured traditional Korean instruments. The evening concluded with a powerful rendition of Let Everything That Hath Breath, filling the auditorium with an electric, joyful energy that united performers and audience members alike.
Looking Ahead
This unforgettable experience was truly life-changing for our students and marks an exciting milestone for the vocal and choral program at Concordian. Our singers returned home with fond memories, sharper skills, and a lifelong bond with the global music community. We look forward to offering more of these magical, transformative opportunities in the years to come!
