PYP Book Week: Every Story Matters!

From May 11 –15 , 2026, PYP Book Week transformed the th

th

campus into a vibrant world where imagination came alive, and stories were not only read but truly experienced. Throughout the week, students celebrated reading, storytelling, and cultural diversity, bringing English, Chinese, and Thai narratives to life through creative dress-up days, interactive activities, and the Spring Book Fair. A special highlight was the visit from well-known children’s author Janice Santikarn, who shared her journey as a writer during an engaging storytelling workshop. Inspired by Thailand’s culture, animals, and environment, she introduced some of her books, The Little Blue Tuk-Tuk, The Giant Cabbage, and Nawin Saves the Elephants. Through storytelling and a lively Q&A session, she encouraged students to find inspiration in everyday life and see themselves as future authors. The celebration continued with three themed days that brought stories and cultures to life across the campus.

On English Day, “Storybook Stars,” students arrived as fairy-tale characters, pirates, and heroes, turning the school into a living storybook alongside the bustling Spring Book Fair. On Chinese Day, “Legends and Lanterns,” the campus glowed in red and gold as students explored myths and legends, from Mulan and the Monkey King to zodiac animals and dragons. The week concluded on Thai Day, “Tales and Traditions,” a joyful celebration of Thai culture through folklore-inspired costumes, traditional arts, and shared reading activities. The Spring Book Fair also enriched the PYP library with a wonderful selection of new books, offering the community more stories to explore, connect with, and enjoy. Across the week, creativity and storytelling filled every corner of the school. PYP Book Week was a powerful reminder that stories connect cultures, spark imagination, and inspire every reader to become a storyteller. Ms. Mharvie Romanillos, PYP Teacher Librarian
