Dear neighbor, Strong communities don't happen by accident. They are built through the commitment of neighbors who care, volunteers who serve, organizations that collaborate, and supporters who believe in the power of collective action. However you partnered with the Concord Carlisle Foundation this year, your generosity helped strengthen the place we all choose to call home. In a year of dramatic uncertainty for our non-profit partners and for so many people in Concord and Carlisle, the commitment of YOU, our supporters, afforded us the resiliency and flexibility to meet this moment with care and with action. While we are proud of all that we achieved together this year, we are even more excited about what lies ahead as we near our 80th anniversary. With a new office staff in place, a committed and talented Board and a clear strategic direction, we are just getting started. We are creating innovative solutions to the most pressing needs in our communities by listening, connecting and responding in ways that only a community foundation can. We are so thankful that you have chosen us as your partner in local philanthropy as we seek to make meaningful change right here at home. With gratitude,

Ali Sullivan Executive Director

Ally Bailey Board President

Meeting the Need: Emergency Financial Assistance (WIN) & Camp Scholarships The Foundation often works quietly behind the scenes when a neighbor in Carlisle or Concord faces an unexpected challenge that public assistance and other resources can’t fully address. Our flexible funding allows us to respond quickly, alongside community non-profit partners, to meet urgent needs with compassion and care. When crisis hit closer to home this year, we were there.

$40,607 in Direct Aid to Individuals and Families Meant... Helping a young CCHS graduate purchase a used car so he could get to work and begin his career. Covering emergency dental care for a resident on Medicaid, support she said was “invaluable.” Stepping in with immediate relief when a gap in SNAP benefits left Carlisle & Concord families without a reliable way to put food on the table. Making it possible for a neighbor to send her child to summer camp with his peers, giving him a fun and enriching experience while allowing her to continue working without worry.

Voices from Our Community: Your Support in Action Nashoba Learning Group Creating Opportunities for Greater Independence For adults with autism and intellectual disabilities whose needs cannot be met in traditional adult day programs, highly specialized support can make a profound difference. This is Michael. With individualized support from Nashoba Learning Group, he has gained the confidence and communication skills to navigate challenging environments, participate in more community outings, and continue thriving at his part-time job. Michael’s progress is a powerful example of what becomes possible when adults have the right support to build on their strengths and pursue their own goals. Because the cost of providing this level of specialized care exceeds available state reimbursement, support from the Concord Carlisle Foundation helps ensure that local residents like Michael can access these opportunities—supporting fuller, more independent lives in their communities.

“

Thank you for partnering with us to provide life-changing support for individuals with autism and hope for their families. Together, we are making a profound impact. Liz Martineau Nashoba Learning Group

The Community Closet Neighbors Helping Neighbors Founded in 2024 by the Concord Carlisle Foundation in partnership with TriCon Church, the Community Closet provides free clothing and everyday essentials to residents facing financial hardship. By offering practical support with dignity, the Community Closet gives the Foundation a direct way to respond to local needs while providing community volunteers with a meaningful, hands-on way to help their neighbors. A special thank you to Juju, Fritz & Gigi and Happy On Main for their generous donations to the Closet. We are also grateful to those who hosted clothing drives this year, including Kerem Shalom, TriCon Church, The Prescott, and Concord Children’s Center.

Concord Council on Aging Finding Community Around the Table A shared meal is about much more than nutrition. Especially for our older adult population, regular opportunities to gather with neighbors can reduce isolation, strengthen friendships and help them remain active and connected to the community. With support from the Concord Carlisle Foundation, the Concord Council on Aging was able to enhance its weekly luncheon program by offering healthier, higher-quality meals. The impact was immediate. Attendance at lunches increased by approximately 60%, demonstrating how something as simple as a nutritious, welcoming meal can create meaningful opportunities to help combat social isolation. By supporting programs like this, the Foundation helps older adults in Concord and Carlisle age with dignity, independence and a stronger sense of belonging.

Community Servings Food is Medicine Program For someone managing a serious illness, a nutritious, medically-tailored meal delivered to their door is one less worry. This is what your generosity makes possible: 10 Concord and Carlisle neighbors are now able to move off Community Servings’ waitlist for services. By receiving 1,700 meals this year, these patients and their families will face less food insecurity and will be able to manage their illness with greater stability and dignity, while reducing the need for hospital visits and improving their overall health outcomes.

“

Community foundations have become increasingly vital as nonprofits navigate an uncertain funding environment. When public resources are unpredictable, they provide the flexibility, stability, and responsiveness needed to sustain critical services and meet changing community needs. Creating a Vibrant Society through Community Involvement A community foundation is only as strong as the community behind it. This year, 102 volunteers and Board members shared their time, energy, and expertise to help make a difference across Concord and Carlisle. Whether you gave your time, made a gift, or both, your support turns commitment into meaningful impact. Thank you for being part of it.

For the place we share

Concord Carlisle Foundation 37 Main St. Suite 3 Concord, MA 01742

For nearly 80 years, the Concord Carlisle Foundation has helped connect generosity with the needs and opportunities that make our community stronger. That work is only possible because of people like you — people who give, volunteer, and believe in the power of a community coming together. As we look toward the next 80 years, the needs around us will continue to change. So will we. But our commitment remains the same: to listen, to respond, and to help direct generosity where it can make the greatest difference. Thank you for being part of this work and for helping make Concord and Carlisle extraordinary places to call home.
