Eric Roberts Stars in Gemelli Film’s “Holiday in the Hamptons” By Jules Lavallee

“Holiday in the Hamptons” Starring Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts, “Royal Runaways” Starring Eliza Roberts (National Lampoon’s Animal House) and featuring Mark Cuban (Shark Tank).

©Red Silk Carpet™ November 2023

Roberts is an Academy Award nominee for his role in Runaway Train, and a three-time Golden Globe nominee for Runaway

Train, Star 80, and King of the Gypsies.

In addition, Roberts received acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival for his role in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and It's My Party. He also starred in La Cucaracha, which won Best Film at the Austin Film Festival, and for which Roberts won Best Actor at the New York Independent Film Festival that same year. Other notable performances include his roles in The

Dark Knight, Final Analysis, and Paul Thoman Anderson's Inherent Vice for Warner Bros., Millennium Films' Lovelace, and The Expendables for Lionsgate. On television, Roberts' memorable recurring roles include USA's Suits, CSI and Code Black for CBS, NBC's Heroes, and Crash for Starz. He has appeared in guest star roles on ABC's Grey’s Anatomy, NBC's Will & Grace, Fox's Brooklyn Nine-Nine, CBS' Hawaii Five-O, HBO's Entourage, and so much more. Red Silk Carpet had the pleasure of speaking with Eric Roberts about his new

film, from award-winning screenwriter/director Candice Cain with a Christmas story that surpasses time and embraces tradition.

You star in Gemelli Film’s “Holiday in the Hamptons.” What captured your eye about this script?

Roberts joins the cast as Arnold Lewis, a loving grandfather living alone in the Hamptons, who seeks to teach his granddaughter Jade (Ashley Brinkman) the true meaning of the gift of love. The film also stars Naomi Matsuda (Bold and the Beautiful), Noah Mendes (The Blacklist), and Monika Mannix (Welcome to Hope). Brett Kroh is executive producer, Michael Mossallam is cinematographer, and the original soundtrack will feature music by Alan Shapiro and Serina Marshall.

Holiday movies are a secret passion of many. Including Eliza and I and our family. Keaton Simons, my bonus son, often does songs for those movies. My bonus daughter, Morgan Simons, does the catering. We love working with Candice Cain. And I love the chance to do charming, feel good things that feel real.

2023 has been an incredible year for the entertainment industry. How have you kept your creative juices flowing?

There is some synergy between all my characters and my real life. But most of it is imagination.

Well, it’s touchy to talk about. But basically, here it is. I am Financial Corp and I appreciate the guilds and unions immensely. But there was enough sanctioned work for me to have a fairly busy 2023. And I am so grateful.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

Is there synergy between your character Arnold Lewis and your real life?

When you were younger, what was your favorite holiday film? Hmmm…I think it's a classic. IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE!!!

What made “Holiday in the Hampton’s” so special?

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

©Red Si lk Ca rpet™ December 2023

Candice knows what she wants. I love that about her. And her sense of humor is immense. Her intelligence is even more immense. And it’s just a blast to get a call from her, inviting you to show up. Also, she brings together the sweetest, most talented cast and crew. It’s life affirming.

Candice Cain: What made “Holiday in the Hampton’s” so special? “HOLIDAY IN THE HAMPTONS is near and dear to my heart because it is set in the area where I grew up and currently live. People know the glamorous side of the Hamptons during the summer, so it was fun for me to show what it is like during the off-season,” writer-director Cain explained. “Arnold Lewis, expertly played by Eric Roberts, is an absentee father who pretty much shaped Jade’s life. He is more focused on business than family and felt his daughter should be independent from a very young age. Since Jade lost her mom when she was 10, Arnold essentially leaves her to grow up only with teachers and staff as her role models. I grew up without my father, so his attitude towards Jade really hit home for me— Especially with how Eric played Arnold.”

Eric: How do you switch gears from “Holiday in the Hamptons” to your Christmas Eve Horror Movie, “Down Below?” Switching gears appears to be my specialty. And it’s a mystery. Even to me!

As we wrap-up 2023, what advice would you give to aspiring actors? Create an Actors Access profile and start submitting yourself inside and outside every box. Be disciplined about it and be your own advocate. Post on social media things you care

about. And be sure it’s all positive.

You just shared thrilling news about the Eric Roberts Youth Center in Greenville, South Carolina to ignite the city’s creative scene. What excites you the most? I’m really excited about collaborating with Evolution Creator Studios. When young people are teaching their peers, they learn so much themselves. And it settles them. I’m embarking on a new opportunity for the youth in

Greenville, South Carolina. And we will be involving the kids in really fun work and real-life experiences in a totally positive context. I can’t wait!

Located in the heart of Greenville, the Eric Roberts Youth Center is poised to become the epicenter for young talent seeking to explore their creative potential. Eric and Eliza Roberts, with their extensive experience in the film and entertainment industry, will serve as the center's esteemed mentor and advisor, providing invaluable guidance to aspiring artists and content creators. There will be exciting events for their non-profit The Natural Child Project. Crowd funding is live at IndieGoGo.com https://www.indiegogo.co m/projects/eric-robertsyouth-centers#/

What’s next for you? I play Santa in a movie mostly crewed by film students in New Mexico! Eliza plays Ms. Claus. And I got to participate in Candice’s project that has Eliza, Carly Bondar and Jason Frederick in it. WRATH & RITUALS, a series. Boy, that was something!

Award -Winning International Actor and a Martial Artist Alan Delabie with the Release of his New Film,

"The Shepherd Code,“ S c h e d u l ed f o r Ear l y 2 0 2 4 By Jules Lavallee

From a very young age, Alan Delabie has always been drawn to the audiovisual field and more particularly to cinema. Seduced by Bruce Lee, he began his career as a martial artist. Alan practices martial arts, more particularly Karate, Kickboxing and artistic nunchaku, disciplines in which he was European champion. Attracted by martial arts exhibitions, he provided more than 500 galas in Europe as well as televised appearances on France 3, France 2 in the program "C'est Heure" by Jean-Luc Delarue, on the channel of Belgian television, RTBF in Carlos Vaquera's program “La Bande à Carlos” as well as appearances on Eurosport, on Paris Première TV for the famous

judo gala at Paris Bercy in 2011 in front of an audience of 15,000. Comfortable in front of audiences and cameras, Alan is interested in acting. He auditioned and landed small roles in TV films such as "Ten minutes from nowhere", the series "Right or wrong" and also in independent feature films such as "JCVD“. But Alan didn't stop there, he was spotted by Canadian producer Jalal Merhi and appeared in Toronto on the

"Road to Hollywood aka Master of the Arts" TV show.

Inspired by the world of cinema, Alan set out to direct his first short film "Die to Love" with actress Catriona MacColl. With this great experience, he

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

embarked on the writing, scriptwriting and directing of a first thriller, an independent feature film "8 hours". Internationally oriented, he had the opportunity to be a guest on the American television channel KUSI NEWS in the program "Good Morning San Diego". He also had the chance to broadcast "8 hours" in preview in the famous "Ken cinema" in San Diego, California. This is how his American adventure began. Alan subsequently landed a role in director Chris Power's "Bloodslinger" in which he played the role of Officer Gallant. Impressed by his talent, Chris Power wrote a bespoke screenplay for Alan "The French Dragon", an action comedy.

Encouraged by these wonderful experiences, Alan decided to write

"Anatomy of An Antihero", a first film which will eventually turn into an action / drama trilogy.

He co-starred there with Eric Roberts, academy awards nominated and Bob Wall, Bruce Lee’s legendary opponent in the movie "Enter the Dragon" to name a few.

“Anatomy of An Antihero” was a success. Alan won several international awards including the Los Angeles films Awards, New York films Awards, Las Vegas movies

Awards, Istanbul film Awards. He also won the best actor award for the Actors Awards 2019/2021 festival in Los Angeles., and the famous AOF megafest Action on Film 2021 best male performance and nomination for best actor. Alan didn't stop there and wanted to explore the story of the main character in his film in depth. He continued with the writing of a second film in the trilogy, “Borrowed Time” in which he costarred with Costas Mandylor (Saw franchise, Cosmic sin

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

with Bruce Willis), Louis Mandylor (Debt collector

1 & 2, Rambo: last blood) and Mohammed Qissi Aka Tong Po (Kickboxer). The third and last part of the film is in progress. Alan is still concluding beautiful collaborations as with Patrick Kilpatrick, renowned Actor producer writer (Death

warrant, Minority report), David Worth,

director of the famous film "Kickboxer" who set out to direct the American part of his 3rd film. Alan draws on the great experience of David Worth. He's like a mentor to him

Tell us about your career as a martial artist and how it became a catalyst for your acting success. I started early, at the age of 10, with karate, earning a black belt, and later ventured into kickboxing. Bruce Lee inspired me to master the nunchaku, becoming the European champion. The desire to become an actor date back to my childhood, watching TV series and action films featuring Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Van Damme, as well as renowned actors like De Niro, Pacino, Marlon Brando. This deep passion led me to choose this career path. As a demonstration artist, I performed in numerous TV shows in France and Belgium, familiarizing myself with cameras. Subsequently, I auditioned, landed a few roles, and ventured into independent cinema. Martial arts were the essence of my beginnings.

What was it like working with Eric Roberts in “Borrowed Time?” Working with Eric was an unforgettable experience. He is very professional, punctual, but most importantly, being in front of an actor like him spared

me from stress, knowing I could approach my acting work seriously. The scenes flowed naturally, without any time wasted. Eric is very friendly, and once the filming was over, we laughed and passionately discussed cinema. I had the opportunity to work with him twice in

"Borrowed Time: Falling Apart" (I won't spoil it for

those who haven't seen it yet, but my scene with Eric is intense). David Worth was also present to supervise, as I wanted to give 100% in my acting. I have been a huge fan of Eric Roberts since Runaway Train and of course Best of the best.

2023, has been a whirlwind for you. Tell us about your current projects. I just finished "The Shepherd Code" with Don "The Dragon" Wilson, a childhood dream to work with him. I'm really happy with the result. I also have my beard oil in partnership with Lusso Sapone from Fort Worth, Texas, a product that reflects my image. We will release a special limited box for the promotion of "The Shepherd Code," but the oil and cream will be permanent. I'm also

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

working on writing a sequel, but I won't reveal more.

Tell us about your projects/events for 2024 and your ambitions. I continue to promote "The Last Nosferatu," and I would like to make a sequel. There is an interesting role in preparation in Georgia, but I won't say more. If all goes well, the sequel to "Shepherd Code" and the show "Everybody with Angela" on Klcs PPBs TV Los Angeles in March. There are a few proposals that I'm considering, but the most important thing is to stay healthy and keep up the morale. This is crucial as the artistic industry can be voracious and very challenging, and it's important to keep your head on your shoulders. I will be in Atlantic city at the end of January for the Action Mega week Alan Goldberg's event for promote my new movie. This is a big event for Action Martial Arts. https://www.imdb.com/na me/nm3715496/ https://www.youtube.com/ c/AlanDelabie

The release of his new film, "The Shepherd Code," is scheduled for early 2024. He recently released the “Shepherd’s Code” beard oil, Beard Balm, Shepherd Code Bar Soap, Double Sided Wood Beard Comb in a Special Limited Edition Wood Box found exclusively on Lusso Sapone. www.lussosapone.com

Owner/Founder of Little MS.Runaround Nashville’s Premier Party Decorator & Planner By Jules Lavallee

“LMR specializes in all thing’s events! We are the perfect match for you if you want to dazzle your guests, are looking for Instagramable moments, but you don’t have the time or are not the craftiest person. We are a local fullservice event decorating and party supply company serving Nashville and surrounding areas. We take your vision and turn it into your reality!!”

“Our Event Planner specializes in everything party- bachelorettes,

birthdays, baby showers, bridal celebrations, business launch parties, and any type of celebratory worthy events. We believe special days are meant to be shared. We make planning your next event stress-free, fun, and easy by facilitating a one-of-a-kind event design. We also offer itineraries tailored to your event.”

When did party planning begin for you? I started my company in the beginning of 2021 in Nashville TN. I’ve always hosted parties since I was in high school. I tend to have a natural act for hosting, coordinating, and making sure everything runs smoothly. I have an

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

extended background in customer service, so I work great with others and can problem solve quickly.

What gave me the idea was one year for my birthday, which was out of town, I had to spend about 3 hours shopping for food, drinks, and decorating where I was staying. I thought to myself “I could have spent this time seeing the city.” Then I thought about all the parties that come into Nashville and thought people need this service so they can have fun and I can do the work for them. Convenience and simplicity are what clients want when they travel. So that’s how Little Ms. Runaround was born.

Tell us a bit about your upbringing. I was born and raised in a small town in Southern California. I come from a low middle-class family and neither of my parents graduated high school. I made it my mission to get the most education that I could. With that said I do have a Master’s degree in business. I’m a mut, my mother is French; my father is Mexican and Filipino. I am the middle child/ favorite of four girls (1 is my bestie but she’s family). My sisters are going to kill me when they see this. When I was in school, I was always into some sort of sport, or academic group, which to be honest kept me out of trouble. My favorite sport that I was part of was running, which I continued into adulthood until I had my meniscus repaired two years ago. My plan is to get back into running and hopefully my surgeon doesn’t read this LOL.

Childhood to adulthoodHow was your transition from childhood to adulthood and what are the bad and good things you remember?

I had a good childhood; I remember always having family and friends around. We were either at someone’s house or we were hosting a party. There was always a birthday or something going on, a reason to have a party. I had plenty of cousins to run around with. I had typical fun with my school friends. Walked around the malls, movies, and sleepovers. There were a handful of us that were close throughout my childhood. I had a neighborhood friend just a few doors down from my childhood home. We would walk to each other’s houses and hang out listening to music and play dress up. Going into adulthood I lived life as much as I could (I still do). I was working in the restaurant industry, so my schedule was VERY flexible. Anytime a friend wanted to go out I was sure to join. I made several trips to Vegas since it was only a 2-hour drive. That fun was great, and it was a wonderful time in my life, but I also felt I wasn’t going anywhere in my life. I was stuck in the same routine. I

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

remember feeling like I was going nowhere, and I needed a change. Moving to Nashville was that change and it taught me so much. I learned who I was and the type of woman I wanted to be in the world. I stayed in Cali working in the restaurant industry where I became a corporate trainer. I trained and opened restaurants for a company. One restaurant was here in Nashville. I fell in love with Nashville and realized there was nothing back home in that small town I grew up in that was now or ever going to help me grow. I finished my lease and moved to Nashville with just me and my dog and I’m still here today.

What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life? Well, I can’t tell all my secrets lol. However, I love to add special touches to any of my events. I also do not tell my clients, I wait until they see it for themselves, I love surprises!

What are your upcoming major events Unforgettable Moments or products/services that you want to promote/inform? Recently I have added two new services to LMR. Since I have several connections and work with many partners, I have decided to add event coordinating to our services. I mean think about it, weddings have a coordinator so why wouldn’t any other event have a coordinator? Second, since I work closely with several Airbnb hosts. I have added a property concierge. I can help the host make sure their property is taken care of when they are unable to get to the property. I can stop by the rental to make sure there is no damage, surprise drop ins after the cleaner, and even set up appointments with

handymen if needed. Also, I do have plans to expand to another city which is super exciting.

Your love life, relationships, and family? I’ve been with my funloving husband for eight years, married for three. We love the auntie/ uncle title, no tiny humans for us, just pups. Traveling and hanging with friends and family is our jam. I have tons and tons of friends that I call family. I’ve met great people since I moved to Nashville ten years ago. Most of my family still lives in Cali but they usually make it here once a year. My oldest sister, brother-inlaw and nephew live in Knoxville, she couldn’t live far away from me, so she moved here about eight years ago. I told you I’m the favorite LOL.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

I’m very close to my sisters and my bestie who I consider my third sister.

What expert advice would you like to give? Take the road less traveled on! It is scary and nothing goes as planned but you learn about yourself, you learn to love yourself and work to get everything you want. Life lessons like this cannot be found in a book. Some things you must experience on your own. I wish this was something I did when I was younger.

Film Premiere of Documentary “Hollywood Town – The Harriet Schock Story” To Be Held in Hollywood on December 19th. By Jules Lavallee Photographer Mark Giffin

To Be Held in Hollywood on December 19th at the Celebrity Centre Garden Pavilion, 5930 Franklin Avenue in Hollywood. Doors open at 6 pm. Harriet Schock was born in Dallas, Texas, where her father taught her to play the piano by ear at the age of 4. She studied piano privately through grade school and high school, and she wrote her first song in the seventh grade. She received a B.A. in English and continued writing songs, mostly special material for skits and school events. Shortly after college, Harriet moved to Los Angeles, signed a contract with Colgems-EMI as a staff writer. In 1973, she recorded her first album for 20th Century Records, containing her song, "Ain't No Way To Treat A Lady," which became a hit for Helen Reddy and was later nominated for a Grammy. She recorded two more albums for 20th and then, in the nineties, recorded “American Romance,” and “Rosebud,” produced by the legendary Nik Venet.

She performs regularly, and her sixth album, “Harriet Schock, Live from Fairfax to Pasadena” was released in December of 2001. Her seventh album, “Breakdown on Memory Lane” was released in 2013. Her newest CD, “Paintings” was released in October of 2023.

Her songs have been recorded by Smokey Robinson, Roberta Flack, Helen Reddy, Lee

Greenwood, Johnny Mathis, Syreeta, Carl Anderson, Gloria Loring, Vikki Carr, Manfred Mann, Vesica Pisces, Mireille Mathieu, Letta Mbulu, Nancy Wilson, Simon Lynge, Elaine, Lambert & Karl, Jeannie Kendall, and many others. She also wrote Dreaming which was recorded by Jodi ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

Benson (The Little Mermaid), a favorite among Little Mermaid fans. In the eighties, Harriet signed with Jobete Publishing and wrote under the direct supervision of Berry Gordy. With Misha Segal, Harriet cowrote First Time on A Ferris Wheel for the Motown film, & Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon, & “Ferris Wheel” has been performed or recorded by over thirty singers to date.

Harriet co-wrote all the songs for The New

Adventures of Pippi Longstocking, the animated Secret Garden and Universal’s “The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus.” Her songs have also been featured in numerous other films and TV shows, including the current Emmy-winning PBS series,

“Jakers!

The Adventures of Piggley Winks” for which Harriet

co- wrote the theme song with Geoff Levin.

Another career highlight was when Herb Alpert produced Letta Mbulu covering "Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady" and she sang it at an A&M records concert. When I heard the first verse sung in Xhosa, I burst into tears. It's such a beautiful South African language and to hear it against my melody was wonderful.

You’ve had an impressive career, including works such as Grammy nominated #1 hit “Ain’t No Way To Treat A Lady,” which was recorded by both you and Helen Reddy. Can you share some of your favorite moments during your career? Early in my career, shortly after the release of my first album, "Hollywood Town,” Helen Reddy flew me to Las Vegas where she introduced me from the stage. The radio stations had decided to play the title cut off her "No Way To Treat A Lady" album, even though it was not the single, and it became a hit. On her "Music Music" album, she covered my song, "Mama.” We became friends and stayed friends for many decades. Ironically, on my newest album "Paintings," there is a song called "Because You Lived," written from the viewpoint of Helen's close friend and fan club president, Jim Keaton. As a young man, he wrote her a very despondent, near suicidal, letter never dreaming he'd hear back. She responded effectively by saving his life and he went on to help others in a crisis hotline career. So, my friendship with Helen Reddy came full

Another special moment was when Johnny Mathis recorded my song, "Ooh What You Do." He didn't quite know it yet, so I got to sing with him in the vocal booth when they recorded the track. As a child, I would walk around with his albums pressed to my cheek so meeting him and having him cover my song was more than a thrill. In the eighties, I collaborated with a brilliant composer, Misha Segal, and we were signed to Motown's Jobete Music working directly with Mr. Berry Gordy. Misha and I also wrote all the songs for "The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking" and many other films and TV shows. In 2016 and 2017, Pat Whiteman performed 3 shows of my songs with me and my band. It was an amazing experience hearing her interpret my songs and talk about their places in her life.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

Tell us about the Documentary “Hollywood Town – The Harriet Schock Story” and how you joined forces with Director/Producer Tom Solari (whose credits include writing and coproducing the feature film ‘In Search of Liberty’ and the documentary ‘The Measure of America’). Tom Solari came to a show I did at the Coffee Gallery Backstage, owned by Bob Stane. Bob started my career at the Ice House where I got my first 2 record deals. I performed at the Coffee Gallery a lot and it was at one of my shows that Tom got the idea to make the film. He said he wanted others to experience what he had felt that night at my show. So, the very day L.A. closed down for Covid, he launched the first of four Indiegogo fundraising phases. We reached our goal for each phase, thanks to generous fans and friends. First, he shot an entire concert with my band with five cameras. Then he interviewed pivotal individuals who started or advanced my career as well as my family and fans. Then came the long process of editing. A documentary is made in the editing. It's not like a fictional film that you shoot according to the script.

I had seen other films of Tom Solari’s, so I knew the film was in good hands.

What have you enjoyed most about the documentary? I most enjoyed hearing what my colleagues and family said. You know you never really get to have these kinds of conversations with your family and people who have started your career. But when someone interviews them, you hear all sorts of things you might never hear otherwise. I loved that facet of the filming.

Preview audiences say that they are moved by the emotional depth of your lyrics and melodies, and enjoyed the various interviews, clips, and memorabilia of a career spanning more than 50 years. Who have been some of your musical influences? I've been asked about my influences a few times, as you can imagine, and I always mention that Ray Charles was one of my first and foremost influences, musically mostly. Lyrically, I always loved Lorenz Hart of Rogers and Hart. I might also mention songwriters like Hugh Prestwood, Bob Dylan, Carole King, Stephen Sondheim, Steve Wonder and Elton John.

In the film, I love that Tom incorporated my family. They're interviewed but also there are old videos of my parents and Earnestine Jefferson, my nanny (or other mother). I hold it together pretty well until I see them and then I sorta lose it.

Can you believe it’s been 50 years? What does it take to have longevity in the music business? I always loved Desi Arnez's answer to how to make it in this business. He looked right at the camera and said, "Live long enough." That's also the answer to having longevity in the business, I guess. But instead of reinventing myself, as I've been accused of doing, I actually just kept doing the same thing I've always done. I still write what I call "Updated seventies pop." In other words, I still write songs that have melodies you can sing and that stay in your head, lyrics that make sense and (hopefully) have emotional impact. There isn't a lot of endless repetition, and the chords try to be inevitable without being predictable. All of this was also true of the seventies, so my writing is a little like my fashion sense. I'm not trendy in either one.

What do you want people to take away from your film? ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

I hope the people who already know me will know more about my work and my intentions. And those who don't know me will know something about me, even if it's just that I care tremendously about the art of songwriting.

What’s next for you? One of my favorite endeavors is writing songs for film, solving a problem for the filmmaker with the song or expanding the meaning of the film. Whether I'm tasked with writing all the songs, as in a musical film, or simply the beginning or end title song, I enjoy that a lot. I started out planning to be a script writer and I did that briefly, so I get to use my storytelling talents in songwriting, careful not to step on the toes of the actual storyteller--the filmmaker. I plan to do more of that. I'm looking forward to performing the songs from my new CD. Shortly after the release concert of "Paintings," I got involved with interviews for the release of the documentary. I'm also looking forward to an upcoming Zoom interview with Harvey Brownstone where I'll have a chance to discuss this "Paintings" CD as well as the CD, "Present Schock" an album of my songs beautifully sung by Gary Lynn Floyd.

The Iconic Actress Louise Sorel: Notably Her Theater Work Had Inspired Accolades from the Likes of the Legendary Tennessee Williams By Jules Lavallee A flashy, aggressive, cold, and calculating villainess and eternally hopeless meddler on a number of daytime soap operas, Louise Sorel has given her opulent, show-stopping characters major doses of humor and grit that have allowed her to become one of daytime's more popular figures for over six decades. Louise, whose roots are in theatre, was born on August 6, 1940, in Los Angeles to entertainment professionals. Studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, she made her Broadway debut playing a teenager in the 1961 comedy "Take Her, She's Mine" starring Art Carney and also had subsequent roles in "Lorenzo" (1963) and "Man and Boy" (1963). Her initial interest obviously was sparked by her actress/concert pianist mother Jeanne Sorel, and father Albert J. Cohen, who produced films in the 1940s and 1950s. Louise went on to co-star on Broadway with Rita Moreno in "The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window" in 1964 and appeared with George C. Scott and Colleen Dewhurst as Princess Alais in the 1967 Bucks County Playhouse production of "The Lion in

Winter.“ Given a bit part (billed as Jacqueline Sorel) in the exploitation teen film Eighteen and Anxious (1957), Louise, in 1964, married comic actor Herb Edelman, best known for his recurring role of Bea Arthur's ex-husband Stan in The Golden Girls (1985). Around this time, she began setting her sights on TV drama, appearing on various dramatic shows including "Dr. Kildare," "The Defenders," "The Trials of O'Brien," "Route 66," "The Rat Patrol," "The Virginian," "Run for Your Life," "Star Trek," "The Big Valley," "The Fugitive," "Night Gallery," "The Bold Ones," "Banacek," "Hawaii Five0," "Owen Marshall," "Kojak," "Hart to Hart," "The Incredible Hulk," "Ironside" and several episodes of "Medical Center," as well as a recurring part on the shortlived nighttime soap opera The Survivors (1969) starring Lana Turner and George Hamilton. In a change of pace, Louise turned to comedy as Don Rickles' wife on his poorlyreceived series The Don Rickles Show (1972). Though she divorced Edelman in 1972, Louise nevertheless co-starred with ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

him again in the failed sitcom Ladies' Man (1980). She met second husband actor Ken Howard in 1972 while appearing with him in a Philadelphia stage production of "Volpone." They married a year later but divorced a couple of years later in 1975.

Appearing in support in the films Plaza Suite (1971), Every Little Crook and Nanny (1972), Airplane II: The Sequel (1982), Where the Boys Are (1984), and Crimes of Passion (1984), Louise moved quite steadily ahead not only with a regular role in the shortlived comedy series Ladies' Man (1980), but with costar/featured roles in the TV movies The Girl Who Came Gift-Wrapped (1974), The Mark of Zorro (1974), When Every Day Was the Fourth of July (1978), Mazes and Monsters (1982), Sunset Limousine (1983) and A Masterpiece of Murder (1986). Various daytime soap operas reinvigorated Louise's career tenfold in the late 1980s. She began her road to sudsy infamy in 1984 as the eccentric archvillainess Augusta Lockridge for the entire run of Santa Barbara (1984).

From there she was given recurring roles as Judith Sanders on One Life to Live (1968) and as Donatella Stewart Port Charles (1997). In 1992, Louise joined the cast of Days of Our Lives (1965) as the manipulative Vivian Alamain. By the time she left in 2000, she had won five Soap Opera Digest Awards.

Her return to Days in 2023, created a gasoline accelerated fire throughout the press and landed her in over 35 industry related media, as well as livestreams and podcasts.

You are one of daytime’s most popular figures for over six decades. What intrigued you about acting? I grew up with a father who was a motion picture producer and a ravishing mother who was declared the new Garbo- what’s a gal to do? I enrolled in theater at Hollywood High School and was lucky to have a teacher who was passionate about theater and threw me onstage doing John Millington Singe - Medea, Serafina in the “Rose Tattoo.” I was hooked went on to LACC and the theater dept. there -Playing Cleopatra - Signora Frola in a Pirandello play - ad infinitum. I was a mime and worked at the Hungry I in San Francisco and finally

got on a plane, after auditioning for the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. (With a mime piece which I thought was pretty funny since I didn’t speak whew.

Your roles have been flashy, aggressive, cold, and villainous. How did you prepare for these roles? I just look at the characters' needs and where they seem to come from. - I don’t believe in playing “evil.” no one who is evil thinks they are - it’s about the need of the character if that makes sense- if the material is good, you can find a lot of your work from the Information and story line moods - humor complications - sense of entitlement - ad infinitum

Can you share a funny moment on set? Funny moments. on sets that’s a tough one - more in theater than on sets. - I do remember in a Medical Center when I was a nurse in a scene with Chad Everett when we were operating on an actor who was transforming into a woman and of course certain parts had to be removed. Chad loved to fool around with jokes, and he palmed some steel balls in his hands as we were ah ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

hem removing obvious male parts and he dropped them in a dish at the appropriate moment - well I lost it and so did the rest of the crew!

Your return to Days in 2023 was phenomenal and created a lot of media attention. Tell us about what moved you the most about your return. I returned because I love to work and feel protective of whatever. I create and that’s what actors do - it also helps with insurance!!!!

Can you share advice to actors about what it takes for longevity in the entertainment business? I’m hesitant to give advice I do believe in working at your craft either in class or with a coach and then there are the instinctive Actors who just exist and have the gift.

Reflecting on your career, what was your proudest moment? When I look back, I’d have to say, I didn’t realize how lucky I was to get a Broadway show at twentyone with a famous director George Abbott and it sent me on my way. I didn’t even realize how important that was, Now I do!!!

Please share your background. I came from a modest background growing up as an only child in a small town. My dad's parents were farmers and owned a dairy farm while my mom's father worked as a machinist for a local industrial company. My father was an automobile mechanic and an avid stock car driver, maker, and fan. My mother made all of my clothes and she worked for the local dress shop. We had the best time picking out patterns, fabrics and finishings together and creating our own clothing. This gave me a perpetual love for design, style, and fashion. I had the quintessential small-town experience. I grew up with and graduated with the same kids from kindergarten through high school. I knew I needed to grow and get out of my comfort zone. I fell in love with one of the first places outside of Gardner, Kansas, that I experienced, which was Scottsdale, Arizona. As soon as my feet touched the ground in Arizona, I fell in love with it. I spent my 20's and much of my 30's in Arizona and California learning about the game of life and how to best play it. I had the opportunity to learn how to sell and to also work with entrepreneurs. I

was naturally good at math and had an incredibly strong work ethic, so I advanced in any endeavor I took on. When I moved back to Kansas City to settle down and start a family, I also knew that I wanted to get into finance, this intrigued me as I love working with numbers and love entrepreneurial stories. This is when financial success became a reality for me and my career in finance has provided a launch pad for my other endeavors.

Childhood to Adulthood How was your transition from childhood to adulthood and what are the bad and good things you remember? I love this question. For me, my early 20's were difficult and I did not allow for an easy transition from childhood to adulthood. At that time, it felt as though I needed to learn many lessons the hard way. I believe I was around 28 or 29 before I truly started listening to my wise inner voice and learned that while I couldn't control the world around me, I could control my response to every experience, positive or negative, and that happiness was a choice that I could make for myself. This time in my life was not

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

easy but I also learned my superpower, I could work longer and harder than anyone I knew and my tolerance for pain, or hard work, was high. It was not easy and there were many times I wished I were one of the "lucky ones" that came from wealthy families or found the love of their life in college and that was not me. I was out in the world fighting, working, and taking 2 steps forward and one step back. It was a grind. This time in my life was also beautiful as I had the opportunity to have so many amazing experiences and I met so many interesting and wonderful people. This part of my life shaped who I am today, and I contribute these experiences to my successful career in finance and having the wherewithal to launch my own clothing and lifestyle brand. This was also a time of immense transformation of being able to see the positive in most any situation, being resourceful without a lot of resources and thinking on my feet.

What hardships have you gone through in life? When I was in Junior High, I was diagnosed with Scoliosis, which is a curvature of the spine.

I wore a back brace beginning in 7th grade for nearly 23 hours per day. It was metal and plastic from under my chin to down below my hips. It was incredibly uncomfortable and not attractive. I look back and realize how supportive my friends, family and teachers were at that time and I am sending out love to them right now as I am writing this. I still have the curvature. I keep it maintained through managing my weight and exercise as these factors help to mitigate the daily chronic pain the curve causes. As I mentioned, it was in Arizona and California where I learned that I could actually choose happiness, it wasn't something elusive, I had the choice. I also mentioned my superpower was working longer and smarter than anyone I knew, so fast forward to my career in finance, I added to my motive of operation, working smarter than anyone I knew. I put all of these together, surrounded myself with talented people and built a very successful career in the financial services industry. What I did not do was take care of my mind, body, and spirit. I plowed through my days and nights, as a single

mom, taking care of my daughter and building my career. I didn't sleep well or eat well and in 2010 I was delivered the news that I had breast cancer. I was fortunate in that this was a slow-moving cancer, I had an early detection so I could make choices that I may not have been able to make had I not gotten myself checked out as soon as I found a suspect spot on my right breast.

I have given several talks on this experience, and I must add that I had the beautiful opportunity to fully experience the visceral feeling of the power of prayer from my family, friends, colleagues, and clients. This experience changed my life forever and for the better.

Due to the location of the cancer, I had to have a mastectomy, which was also, a blessing since there was another suspect spot that may have remained if I had not had to have the entire breast removed. As it turns out, that suspect spot was also cancer. I chose to have a double mastectomy at that time with full reconstruction in a few months to follow. This was also a time of transformation for me total transformation. I had been fighting my way through life, using nearly 100% masculine energy, and not allowing my feminine side to flow. I learned this through my energy healer, Ursula. I met Ursula through my Doctor at the time. I continued working with Ursula beyond my recovery and have worked with her to deepen my spiritual journey ever since then.

I believe the difficult experiences that I had during my early years is part of what gives me a competitive edge in my businesses. I enjoy working and creative things of value and quality. That is one of my passions. For Hadobody, I wanted to create a clothing line with meaning, something that has a greater purpose beyond simply being a different choice of undies or active wear. With my breast cancer diagnosis, which began my wellness and healing journey I finally understood the Mind, Body, Spirit connection and how powerful it is and how powerful we are. I also understood that oftentimes we don't realize how powerful we truly are and how our environment can zap some of that power.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?

Hadobody was built on the concept that Water is an Intelligent Being and a carrier of information, therefore, if our bodies are nearly 70% water, wouldn't it make sense to imprint positive affirmations onto our body, literally programming the most powerful computer that we have access to, which is our mind, body and spirit and specifically being able to affect the neuroplasticity in our brains. This is why Hadobody features powerful I AM statements, playfully and tastefully placed on the clothing in the form of a sacred chakra symbol and or the I AM Affirmation on its own. Hadobody is clothing with a purpose - our time and our resources are limited; shouldn't our clothing provide so much more than simply covering our bodies? Hadobody helps to program positivity into our daily lives, a living I AM

statement worn on your clothing infusing our mind, body, and spirit with that positive statement.

made with petroleum-based fibers that emit forever chemicals into our bodies, through our skin.

Hadobody is made of luxurious plant-based fabrics like Micro Modal, made in an environment that provides living wages and dignity to the manufacturing team all made in Los Angeles, California. We also align each affirmation with the 7 Chakra System. With each of the 7 Chakras and Affirmations, we have aligned an Impact Partner where a percent of the profits goes to that aligned charity.

Many performance-based fabrics that make up most of our workout wear are made with just these chemicals. What do we do when we workout, we get warm or hot, right? That heat makes those chemicals more powerful, and the heat allows these forever chemicals to seep into our

CEO/Owner of Lily + Miel of Beverly Hills By Jules Lavallee Rachelle Carson, a v isionary entrepreneur, and the driv ing force behind LILY + MIEL, embarked on a mission to revolutionize the world of skincare formulation.

Fueled by her deep-rooted passion for skincare, Rachelle seized the opportunity presented by the pandemic-induced downtime to transform her dream of owning a skincare brand into a tangible reality. Her unwavering commitment to creating products that cater to people of all ages and skin types became the catalyst for her remarkable journey. Dedicating countless hours to meticulous ingredient research and collaborating closely with a team of expert chemists, Rachelle successfully crafted a skincare brand that not only delivers remarkable results but is also accessible and visually stunning. In the process of creating LILY + MIEL products, the team closely adhered to the stringent "clean at

Sephora" guidelines, ensuring that every product is crafted with utmost care and consideration. What truly sets LILY + MIEL apart is its unwavering emphasis on harnessing the power of natural ingredients, including nourishing nut and flower extracts, minerals, and vitamins. This unique approach allows the brand to offer products that are not only highly effective but also boast naturally beautiful scents, all wrapped in an aura of luxurious elegance, and at an affordable price point.

Please share your background. I was born in Germany to military parents and ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

experienced a lot of movement growing up. Being raised predominantly by a hardworking single mom, who simultaneously pursued her nursing degree while caring for 3 kids, instilled in me a strong sense of work ethics. My most impressionable years were spent in a small town in Indiana where people were humble and generous, teaching me the value of having a sense of community.

Childhood to Adulthood - How was your transition from childhood to adulthood and what are the bad and good things you remember?

I always loved the idea of being independent. As a kid, I remember being on my bicycle riding around the neighborhood for hours, exploring on my own and having such a curiosity of the world around me. I secured my own apartment at a relatively young age. Although learning the balance between work and play as a young adult was challenging for me, I wouldn’t change anything, as these experiences served as valuable life lessons, contributing to my personal growth and development into a (mostly) responsible adult.

What do people usually not know about you? One thing many may not know is that it has always been a dream of mine to become a business owner. Today, that dream is a reality with LILY + MIEL, and I feel so

fortunate and proud to have a company built on unique formulations and sustainable packaging, one that caters to people of all different backgrounds.

Tell us about your successful skincare brand. LILY+MIEL is not just a skincare brand, but a manifestation of a vision to revolutionize the beauty industry. As the founder, my mission was to create a skincare line that seamlessly integrates nature, science, and ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

mindfulness.

What is important to you when developing products? When developing products for LILY+MIEL, the core principle that guides us is a dedication to naturally driven skincare. We prioritize clean formulations that are free from harmful toxins and chemicals, ensuring that our products not only enhance the skin's appearance but also contribute to its overall health. Sustainability is another cornerstone of our development process, with a focus on ecofriendly packaging.

Sandra Rodriguez, Professional Image, and Style Coach By Jules Lavallee

Sandra is a professional image and style coach with over fifteen years of luxury fashion experience. She has worked for iconic brands such as Fendi, Prada, and Versace to name a few, where she sharpened her clinical eye for detail and learned about the power and value of a refined personal image and how to “dress for success.” For Sandra, the business of fashion goes beyond trends and simply getting dressed. Her mission is to help both women and men bring forth the best and most confident version of themselves and articulate their unique personalities while achieving personal and professional goals through

style. She is the founder of Style & Grace, a multifaceted retail, styling services, and educational portal which she launched in the fall of 2023.

You are a well-known professional image and style coach. Share your background and what led to your panache for fashion? Thank you for the high compliment Jules. I love this word "panache" it encompasses everything I love about style and fashion! The Fashion industry is extremely exciting and interesting as a whole, and everyone is a

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

player in an intentional or passive way. The fact that we all get dressed every day of our lives as it's the norm in our society implies that we are all making conscious choices in the way we show up in the world. Since the age of seven, I've had a fascination with fashion. You see, my mother Maria had an excellent seamstress in El Salvador who crafted some of our clothes from pictures of models in magazines wearing beautiful designs or she would describe to the seamstress an idea of a design she wanted and we chose the fabric and color we wanted, and the design was brought to life.

Making our own clothes was more affordable than buying ready to wear clothes. This always stood out to me, how fashion and personal style is a choice, and you make it work to your advantage. As I grew up, I became more in-tune with fashion and style. I noticed how certain choices I made in outfits stirred different reactions from people. I watched and studied trends, read books about fashion history, biographies of designers, paged through countless VOGUE and ELLE magazines (and still do to this day) and I mastered the ART of dressing well / "dress for success" on any budget.

What is a fashion alchemist? Great question! Alchemy as defined in the MerriamWebster dictionary: Noun, 1: a medieval chemical science and speculative philosophy aiming to achieve the transmutation of the base metals into gold. 2: a power or process that changes or transforms something in a MAGICAL or impressive way. As a fashion alchemist, I transform people's lives for the better. Gemstones such as diamonds are more beautiful, shine and delight more exquisite when they are polished and shaped to enhance their natural

beauty, same with people, together we make magic! My clients are happy with their transformations, sometimes head to toe makeovers for better opportunities in their career, love life, health, emotional and spiritual growth.

What are some of the iconic brands you have worked with and who do you admire most? Wow! This is a tough one! In my professional fashion career, I have been blessed to have worked for powerhouses such as FENDI, GIORGIO ARMANI, PRADA, and VERSACE for many years in each. I respect them all and continue to promote them as they are all unique, their DNA and values all align with my persona and all of these iconic fashion houses have a special place in my heart. The brands are merely institutions with a hierarchy of individuals with different roles. The individual people who work for the companies is what makes the difference. I had great mentors in all of them, especially the passionate store managers who coached me and taught me to be more poised, more assertive in my sales technique, trained me to pay meticulous attention to the details of styling, and who cared about the team and gave me the opportunity to work alongside them. ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

Jewelry Designer Alexis Hunter of Palm Springs Shares Hot New Year’s Eve Collection By Jules Lavallee

When Alexis Hunter conceived of her distinctive line of jewelry and accessories, it was merely an outgrowth of the painting and other visual art she’d engaged in for decades. But several years ago, something happened to shift the trajectory: the distinctive bracelets, necklaces, and earrings hand-made in her Palm Springs home were increasingly being worn by a diverse swath of celebrities. Steven Tyler, Shari Belafonte, Liv Tyler, Chandler Leighton, Marilyn Michaels, Joanna Cassidy, Gail O’Grady, and Ruta Leeare all enthusiastic patrons of Hunter, who is also an author and retired model. The list keeps growing, expanding to Victoria's Secret /Cosmopolitan model Virginia Shaddick MacGregor, and

Roman Wadsworth. Alex Hunter jewelry is affordable for the masses. Many styles are offered in inventory and custom designs are available this holiday.

Alexis has also written the captivating book about Joi Lansing who may have been the last of Hollywood’s blonde bombshells, who was also victim to its vile, indeed murderous system of control. With Joi Lansing: A Body to Die For, Alexis, herself a victim of studio “indentured servitude” and Lansing’s partner during the starlet’s final years, offers the tell-all now available in a new, frank edition set for these post #MeToo years, and just in time for the tenth anniversary of marriage equality on June 24th. More so, the author is currently in

Tell us about your New Year’s Eve necklaces. I love creating theme necklaces for my amazing clients. New Year's Eve is one of the most fun themes I love! Whimsical creations are my favorite. I design each piece with my client in mind. I want it to be so special, something that will make the evening joyful and memorable. It's not just a necklace, it's wearable art.

I have celebrity clients who have asked me to design something special for grand parties all over the world. I'm not at liberty to divulge their names, but I can tell you they're absolutely elegant women and men.

Share some of your creative pieces. My favorite theme at this time is Peace and Love. It's my way of making a statement. Each charm or pendant I add to the necklace has a meaning and message. I know that the person who wears it resonates with the theme I've expressed in my art.

Christmas is another whimsical and fun necklace I delight in creating. Doing the research to find unusual and delightful charms is one of the most timeconsuming aspects of the process. It can take hours or days to find exactly what I want. Many times, I'll go to vintage stores to find just the right piece to make the design come together.

You recently designed several Peace and Love custom pieces for clients. What makes these so special? I think Peace and Love are a universal message. I hope through my work, those who see it will think about the importance of compassion and kindness toward all inhabitants of our planet.

Art can evoke emotion, and I sincerely hope mine will make people who see it feel a sense of hope for our future, and that of all the children who suffer in war.

We are working with many charities on silent auctions to bring awareness and love around the world.

What’s next for you in 2024?

I am working on having my book made into either a feature film or limited series. Things are getting very exciting for me in the near future. My book is doing very well, receiving two awards; the Irwin Award by the Southern California Book Publicists for Best Entertainment Book of 2018 and most recently the Lesfic Award for Best New Author of

Brett Cassort International Award-Winning and Published Landscape Artist By Jules Lavallee

Photo Credits: Nathan Quinton Sebakijje Instagram @nqsphotos Website - nqspix.com

Brett Cassort is an International AwardWinning and published landscape artist who has covered the U.S., growing up in the Northeast and now calling Southern California home for over a decade. Living in the southwest has given Brett access to the wealth of natural beauty that surrounds him. The beaches, mountains and desert can all be experienced within a couple of hours’ drive and provide so much inspiration for his work. One of his favorite drives is through the desert. There’s a solitude about it which provides a natural meditative experience, but at the same time it’s bursting with life and color in not so obvious ways. It’s calming, peaceful, vibrant, and dangerous all at the same time depending on the time

of year. Cloud structures that form over distant mountains can catch sunrises and sunsets at different angles. Often times those angles change the narrative by the minute giving the eye little time to differentiate. It’s in those moments that new ideas are sparked, captured by a dash camera and conceptualized into a composition for new work. Having a very artistic mind from a young age grew over the years to experimenting with different mediums. As a kid Brett started drawing the animals from the family Outdoor Life Magazine. Everything from deer, elk and moose to hawks and eagles.

That drawing at an early age merged into abstracts experimenting with house paint from the basement. ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

House paint gave way to acrylic that became oil paint when he began studying under the graceful eye of Cheryl Kline at the Kline Academy of Fine Art in Culver City, California. There’s nothing more magical than when a student finds his teacher. It was five years of immersive study at Kline Academy that he learned the skills and techniques that you see in his work today. Trained as a classical fine art oil painter gave him the tools and skills to adapt and find his own style. His love of the natural world and the grittiness of life’s adventures on the road helped form his road trip landscape combination. His Road Trip Series has been showcased in juried gallery shows in Los Angeles, Dallas, and San Francisco.

Most recently Brett was showcased Internationally at the famed LA Art Show in 2023. In the media world you can find Brett in the September 2022 issue of American Art Collector Magazine’s (Landscape Collector’s Focus), the March 2023 issue of VoyageLA Digital Magazine, and April 2023 Influential People Magazine.

The Road Trip series has taken Brett on a journey reflecting on the commonality that we share as people. Many stories and experiences that show up in everyday interactions are portrayed in his work. Composition that is heavily guided by light. Using unusual angles and dark shades to allow a more surreal narrative to be formed as the barren expanse lingers in the mind’s eye. The creation of space and distance at the intersection of landscape and abstraction gives the work so much depth. It allows for a more ethereal quality to permeate the senses. Wherever you find yourself on this road called life, the many twists and turns that are steered through, hills that are climbed, storms that are weathered, bridges that are crossed, we search for those moments of peace and calmness in such a tumultuous world. As time passes, we experience all

that life has to offer, adventure, challenge, hope, excitement, sadness, resiliency, and so many more. Brett leaves plenty of room for interpretation in his work allowing the viewer to create their own narrative. Wherever you are on this road of life, just know that you’re not alone. You grew up in the Northeast and now call Southern California your home for more than a decade. Tell us your backstory as an artist.

My journey as an artist started as a kid in the small town of Louisville, New York. Growing up my creative outlet started with drawing the animals from the family Outdoor Life Magazine. Everything from deer, elk and moose to hawks and eagles. The area I grew up in was mainly dairy farms and woodlands near the St. Lawrence River so outdoor activities were very common. Being surrounded by nature was a big influence on my work then, just as it is now with my road trip landscapes. Drawing later turned into painting using house paint from the basement for mainly abstracts. Eventually I added spray paint and acrylic paint as I tried whatever new ideas and techniques that came to mind. I very much followed the logic that you never know how an idea is

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

going to develop until you get it out of your head. Once it’s on paper, canvas, or whatever material you’re working with, then you can decide where it goes.

You started with oil paint when you began studying under the graceful eye of Cheryl Kline at the Kline Academy of Fine Art. What skills and techniques did you learn that we see in your work today? Yes, within about 30 seconds of meeting Cheryl she started finishing my sentences. I had gotten to the point where I didn’t have the skills and techniques to quite get the ideas out of my head and onto canvas. If I wanted to study with her, I needed to strip everything down and master classical foundation first before I could go on to my own ideas. I had to go back to basic skills before moving on to reproduce two master works, a Rembrandt, and a Caravaggio. It was within that training that I learned how to deal with light, shadow, angles, glazing, edges, and transitions. I studied with Cheryl for 5 years and I’m very fortunate to have her as a mentor and a friend. All of those skills you now see in my work today and I continue to learn and evolve with every painting.

You were honored in February 2023 in the International Open Competition, “BREAKTHROUGH” Where you won the Artist "X" Choice Bronze Award. What does this mean to you? I’ve been fortunate to be honored a few times for different paintings on the international level and I’m very thankful to be recognized for my work. There’s so many great artists out there that I’ve done shows with that I’m always impressed with and humbled by. Seeing their amazing work drives me to be better with every new painting. So that recognition is very validating and a reminder that I’m on the road I’m supposed to be on.

“This road of life that we are all on has so many peaks and valleys, twists and turns, darkness and light, and obstacles that present themselves.”

Your Road Trip Series has gained global attention. Who is this series for? There have been a few stories that people have shared with me over the years about how my work has had an effect on them personally, and how it offered them hope in different ways. From processing the grief of

losing a loved one, handling mental health issues, dealing with self-doubt and fear, or any of several other issues we all deal with on a regular basis, people have found comfort and hope in their own way within my work. I always strive to leave room in my paintings for the viewer to form their own narrative. I’ve dealt with many of those similar issues so to hear those stories of resilience gives me some confidence that I’m doing something good in this world. We’re all on a road going somewhere so wherever you find yourself on that road hopefully you keep moving forward with a sense of adventure and curiosity.

You’re also known for your abstracts. Tell us more about them. They’ve been a lot of fun to do and have allowed me to explore creatively in a different direction using mainly concrete tools and pallet knives. It was more free form and spontaneous than the Road Trip Series at first until I decided to start exploring the combination of the two styles. You can see different aspects of merging those styles in “9 Saguaros”, “Breakthrough”, “Beach Cruiser”, and “Passing Storm”. That idea was a perfect example of not knowing how it would work until trying it out. If it works, great, if not then I’ll

continue to explore in new ways. It’s nice to jump back and forth especially if I’m going through a little slump of any kind, it’s a good wake up exercise.

Tell us about your SUPERFINE SF exhibit. My first showing in San Francisco was a wonderful experience. It’s such a beautiful city and the show was with Superfine @ Fort Mason overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge so you can’t ask for much more than that beautiful setting. Several originals and Limited-Edition Prints went home with new collectors, and I was able to connect with so many people that wanted to chat about my work. It definitely refilled my creativity tank to get back in the studio and prepare for the next show. You can also connect with me on social media. Dr . M a r k V a l i n s k y Fine Art Captures the Beauty of Hollywood By Jules Lavallee

Dr. Mark Valinsky spent his career as a surgeon. His passion for photography led him to launch Mark Valinsky photography. From Hollywood, Classic Cars, Rock & Roll, and Landscapes, Mark Valinsky Fine Art is a global sensation. “Photography has expanded my awareness and Beingness and my appreciation for being alive. I love capturing the beauty of people, nature, and life. I am in constant fascination. Photography is my passion.” My photography has taken me around the world from across the United States to the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, Japan, down to Australia, and across to Spain.

Photography has given me

an acute awareness and insightfulness into people and situations. I shoot with the eye of a hunter. Patient, quick, accurate to capture the moment the subject reveals its unique beauty. I strive to capture the life, the beauty, the art, and the truth in people and situations. I’m friendly and professional. I like to bring out and capture the best in people. Get them to express themselves and bring out their ability to look at themselves with respect.

Parts of my portfolio contain vintage photos of Classic Rock and Roll Bands including the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Jethro Tull, and others.

You began your career as a surgeon who has traveled around the world to help others. Share your background and what led to your passion for photography? I never really had any formal training as a photographer. I learned by doing and reading, and self-study and doing more. I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was a ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

teenager. I guess I started to take pictures by infusion. I come from a big family. My mom was always taking pictures. I never considered myself a photographer. It just became something I liked to do, so I did it. I took pictures in high school, college and into medical school. Decades of taking pictures just because I enjoyed creating the images. In the mid 1970’s, after graduating from medical school and actively developing my surgical practice, I would go to concerts of the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Jethro Tull and more. I would bring my camera and get right up to the stage and take photos of the classic rock bands in live action. I worked to get every shot. At that time, I was one of the few people shooting color slide film instead of black and white. I developed the film myself. Again, just having fun experiences and a few great stories. I put them away for years. You can see some of them now at https://RockTheArtWorld .com .

As a surgeon, I took thousands of photographs documenting pre and post op. Many of those turned into lecture presentations. Speaking made me a known medical authority. That led me all over the country speaking and ultimately, I became a member of the 1st Surgical Team to the People’s Republic of China to teach foot surgery. Which also allowed me to take pictures around mainland China as early as 1983. I returned 4 more times, then Spain and Australia. About 25 years of being a surgeon I wanted to change my life and career from being a surgeon to acting, so I moved to L.A. I went to acting school and would take photos of my classmates doing their acting scenes. The students started asking me if I did headshots. So, I said yes! The instructors and students saw more of my scene study photos, headshots and event photography of A-list celebrities and more students asked for more headshots. That’s when people started to tell me, “You’re a good photographer!” Almost 40 years after I first picked up a camera is when I first realized, “I am a photographer!” I just always just liked taking

pictures of people and bringing out their best and that made people happy.

"I've captured the essence of life's beauty. You share it with the world." ™. Tell us about Mark Valensky Fine Art, and your Hollywood connection. I like to believe my images speak individually for themselves to the observer. But a little more on the Hollywood Connection – When I was still a podiatrist in Chicago, I had taken acting lessons and would also fly into Los Angeles and became a member of Leaders in Film and Entertainment – L.I.F.E. When I finally moved to Los Angeles, I started contacting the various organizations / people producing Hollywood events and red carpets and offering my photography skills. I started getting jobs and opportunities. That led to more and more significant Hollywood events. Although an established agency picked me up, I found that more demanding of my time and effort than I thought it was worth and although I went back to working more independently there came a time where I realized that despite all the glitz,

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

glamour and fun of going to these events as an event and red-carpet photographer I came to L.A. to act and produce and be on the red carpet, not take pictures of others on it. So, I continued to develop my “Hollywood Connection” as an actor, producer and even for a while a publicist.

You have worked with the American Film Institute, Screen Actors Guild, Golden Globes, Hollywood Film Festival, LA Fashion Week to name a few. What have you enjoyed the most? I have enjoyed meeting people of great accomplishment and fame, but what is more important to me than their accomplishments and celebrity status, is "Were they a good person and respectful, not only to me but others." I am very glad to say the great majority were.

The most memorable was Tom Cruise. I met and talked with him a couple of times. Once, when I was working on the set of “War of the Worlds.” It was very cold, rainy, and about 1AM.

He and Spielberg were the hardest workers on set. No whining, no complaining, just pure professionalism. Another time was when he was attending another person’s red carpet and film debut. He was very giving and social to all people both times. On set of War of the Worlds, to the cast and crew and at the redcarpet event to the fans lined up along the street behind the barriers. Cruise went to the people in the crowd and took selfies with the fans. Later inside the movie theater Tom left his handlers and security people to take time to talk to me one on one. We had a great 5-minute face to face talk in the middle of the lobby. I told him it was fun and a sincere pleasure to talk with him, but I had to go and meet my date and take our seats in the theater. He said to go get her and bring her over to him, he’d love to meet her. As we were walking towards him, he actually walked across the lobby to meet us. He is a real person and a class act!

Your popular photography includes classic cars, Take us through your collection. Most of my classic car

photos were taken at one of the most prestigious car shows in the world, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Others from the Beverly Hills Concours. I love and appreciate the beautiful and unique art the various car designers created over the years. I usually don’t speak of “top sellers” because I want buyers to buy my art because it speaks to them in some way, to judge my art for its individual beauty and importance it represents to them and not because it's popular with the opinions of others. The significance is simply in their individual beauty and how it speaks to the viewer.

Tell us about sunsets, landscapes, and flower collections. Can you share a few popular pieces? All my images, sunsets, landscapes, flowers, classic cars, people and places, etc. are of what I have seen and experienced both local around Marina del Rey, California to as far away as the People’s Republic of China, but no matter where I am they have to inspire me before I click the shutter. I just capture what I believe is beautiful and /

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

or interesting to me. I like to document life and my experiences. In regard to notable people, although I have met and taken photographs of many famous people. I respect their privacy regarding sales. Mostly, I hope that my images sell themselves because they speak to and inspire people to buy them for the sake of art and not notoriety.

What’s next for you? What’s next? Whatever I can create – I am always creating new images. I don’t think life is going to run out of beautiful images to capture and share. I’m looking to travel the world and document in photo images and stories. Presently I am developing a number of photography books, lectures, on-line courses and always, expansion. I am focusing on expanding my on-line sales of my images and books worldwide. https://markvalinsky.com/ https://www.markvalinsky photography.com/ https://www.imdb.com/na me/nm1828054/

Sonderwunsch is German for “special wishes”, highlighting the high degree of customization available via this program. This highly exclusive, unique car visualizes how a totally personal dream sports car could look for a

Sonderwunsch customer. ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

Shanghai individuality is a particular form of modern luxury. Which is why the new Panamera

is available from the factory with a broad selection of colors, upholstery, decors and accentuating details. For those with even more individual and highly exclusive expectations for their personal dream car, Porsche offers its customers the Sonderwunsch program. This includes consultation, planning and expert execution of custom color and material wishes and

even the creation of customized one-offs. Porsche will be presenting the vast array of options of the Sonderwunsch program during the world premiere of the new Panamera in Shanghai. “Our customers value the option of adding their personal touch to the design of their car. The Panamera Turbo Sonderwunsch based on the new Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid shows how

flexibly and precisely we can fulfil these wishes as a vision of a customer’s dream. Specially created color tones, individual accents, and planning down to the last detail have transformed the Panamera into a genuinely unique car,” says Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing. ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

“The exterior of the car has been designed by experts from the Style Porsche and Exclusive Manufaktur units. This oneoff car will inspire people to make their own very personal dream of a highly individual Panamera a reality.” Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur has painted the inspiration model in a two-tone finish centered around the specially created color tone Leblon

Violet Metallic. This violet color tone has a hint of chestnut. Using an elaborate production technique, the experts from the Style Porsche and Exclusive Manufaktur units have the striking color fade into a solid black in the lower third of the car. The doorsills and front and rear spoiler lips are in solid black. Tinted headlights, taillights and windows continue the theme,

and the tailpipes are in Bronzite.

The clear coat of the Sonderwunsch Panamera Turbo contains flakes vaporized with real gold, creating a premium look with depth effect. The exterior also features pinstripes in the also

newly developed color Avium Metallic with an integrated Sonderwunsch logo. ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

The face of the 21-inch center-lock wheels and the side window surrounds are also finished in Avium Metallic. Craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident in the meticulously finished logos on the rear.

About Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and Porsche Classic enhance and restore unique sports cars with a combination of skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. As part of its Co-Creation strategy, the sports car manufacturer is reinterpreting its legendary Sonderwunsch program from the late 1970s, which will enable it to

design individualized, one-off cars – co-created by the customer and professionally produced by Porsche.

This range of services encompasses the areas of Factory Commissioning for individual customer

color and material requests directly in production, as well as subsequent Factory ReCommissioning, and Factory One-Off after vehicle delivery to the customer. ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

Whereas Factory Re-Commissioning is all about individual colors and materials, the Factory One-Off service is a systematic new technical development. Depending on the vehicle’s age, the technical experts at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur or Porsche Classic manage

implementation.

The Panamera Turbo Sonderwunsch was created in the Factory Re-Commissioning process in order to showcase this process in an actual project. Customers can contact the Sonderwunsch

Team in the Exclusive Manufaktur unit via their Porsche Center and order the subsequent Factory ReCommissioning of their car directly with Porsche Cars North America. The car is then transported to the manufacturer where it will be customized according to the customer’s wishes. The market-specific transportation and registration prerequisites will be agreed with

each customer individually in each case.

Katherine Winter -Sellery, CEO of Conscious Parenting Revolution Sh a r e s V is ion for Conscious Parenting TV Series in 2024 By Jules Lavallee

Katherine Winter-Sellery is one of the creators of the Guidance Approach to Parenting, a program that applies conflict resolution skills to communicating more effectively with children. Through her popular workshops, TEDx talks, and her book, she has taught thousands of parents (and educators, social workers, medical professionals, and anyone else needing to converse with 5-year-olds to 95-yearold children) in a half dozen countries and cultures. Her aim is to minimize misunderstandings and melt-downs and communicate with more

collaboration, cooperation, and consideration. Her methods have positively influenced relationships for generations and brought about healing and reconciliation in families that were suffering from disconnection. Passionately committed to healing intergenerational dysfunction, Katherine has recently launched a 90 Day Parenting Reset Mastermind. It is for anyone who is committed to creating transformation in their family. The program supports people by providing the community around them to hold the container to learn a

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

combination of mindset shifts and the tools to implement day to day conflict resolution that doesn’t generate resentment or further isolate them from the family members. Among other things, everyone learns to understand their own triggers, so that they may better understand their own needs, and be open to understanding the needs of the people around them to create safe and stable homes and families. Children who know their inner voices and can speak up while also being concerned about the others in the family and their feelings and needs.

You have helped thousands of parents create stronger relationships with their kids with strategies that create deeper connections. Share your background. As a little girl I wanted to grow up and be the first female President of the United States. My parents nickname for me was The Little General. Born under the sun sign Leo I fit my astrology to a tee! I was student body president and chosen to represent my great state of Colorado at Girls Nation and had so many other leadership roles. I was good at it and I loved it. There was something internally tricky about it though, a niggling feeling that clouded it inside. Looking back on it now I understand that that was actually the thing that was seeking clarification, and it was that which, although seeking clarification unsuccessfully then, has actually defined my life's work, the work of hearing from the inside.

The ethos of the family, things I can recall, were comments often stated to get us to look a certain way on the outside. Like, “what will the neighbors think?” Somehow the impressions others had of us were important to take into consideration. Now I put all this kind of thing in the category of the “external

locus of causality” and it is so ingrained in most of us because so many of us grew up in families where the overriding theme was not to upset the adults around us, to behave, be a good girl or boy (which meant don’t upset the adults around us). I’m not advocating to upset the adults around us, however, if it's a choice between being true to yourself or betraying yourself in order to create false harmony to those around us, I’d like to say it’s better to rock the boat. I’m also keenly aware that safe passage through childhood may require focusing on those adults around us to keep them calm in order to keep ourselves safe and that may require silencing ourselves. Now looking back, I can see that those siblings that were the “problem children” in the family were the ones doing the work to separate and individuate and to have their own voices and experiences acknowledged, recognized and reflected back to them. I went the other way; I was hyper focused to be sure the parents were deferred to and made to feel they were great and wasn’t it horrible that so and so was so selfish. The environment wasn’t conducive to allowing others experiences too, especially that of children, the only experiences and

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

voices that were legitimized were that of the adults and now I know that that was born out of adults who also were not seen, heard and understood from their perspective either as children. So, the pattern repeats, this is the transgenerational wounding that I got to experience and decided would not happen again, that it would stop in my family with me. The Conscious Parenting Revolution has garnered global attention. Tell us about the Guidance Approach to Parenting. Parents usually use rewards and punishments (a behaviorist approach) in order to achieve the end to a disruption. The Guidance Approach challenges the behaviorist effectiveness to raise children that can problem solve and demonstrate “self-started behavioral change” and also highlights that a behaviorist approach gives rise to secondary problems called the 3Rs (retaliation, rebellion and resistance). By its very nature the behaviorist approach depends on children being both dependent and afraid of their parents.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

Therefore, these parents are more likely to raise kids that lie and hide everything but the behaviors parents like. These are not the cornerstones of a strong foundation for parents to gain influence and access to their children's innermost world. Eventually these parents are fired.

The Guidance approach achieves much more than ending a disruption, it is geared toward preventing disruptions before they occur and ensuring in the process of resolving disruptions when they do occur that something positive happens, such as how to resolve interpersonal disputes or regulate emotions - not how to avoid detection, tell lies to get out of trouble, deny responsibility or blame someone else. With a guidance approach there must be no unintended emotional sideeffects on the children whom we discipline, such as feeling intimidated or fearful, or being seen by peers as troublesome and therefore as someone to avoid or victimize. Also the surrounding children must continue to feel safe about how they would be treated

if in future they were to make a mistake. Our disciplinary methods must preserve our warm relationship with our children. Children should be equally willing to interact with us after a

corrective intervention as they were before, not least because we can have no influence on them if they avoid us. We have to feel as parents that we are abiding by our principles and doing a good job. That the methods we are using convey our values, such as respect (for both children and adults) and fairness of treatment. We believe children will develop a healthy attitude to authority when parents use guidance instead of rewards and punishments. Over 50 years of robust research has compared these broad outcomes of parents’ disciplinary styles. Of these many studies, every single one has shown a guidance approach to produce superior results to controlling discipline, across all domains of children’s development. This research has demonstrated that, of all the influences on children’s outcomes,

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

parenting quality is the most powerful.

Conscious Parenting Revolution is one of the leading solutions helping parents to minimize misunderstandings and melt-downs to communicate with a more collaborative and cooperative approach. Take us through the process of working with you. I created a 90 day parenting reset program that curates the parents' journey each week. It is a mixture of short, pre-recorded training videos, coupled with reading and exercises from our workbook, weekly recap emails and over zoom coaching calls every Monday night as well as some 1:1. K a r en R o b i ns on , Founder & CEO of Heal Thrive Dream, LLC

By Jules Lavallee

Karen Robinson empowers survivors to heal and recover from childhood abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, toxic work environments and all traumatic events. Karen has extensive experience working with military sexual assault survivors, combat veterans, and those with moral injuries. Karen has served as a case manager, advocate, mental health therapist, service chief, and department chief of emergency services, inpatient psychiatry, medical social work, and for a behavioral health liaison & consultation service. Her work ethic is strong, service driven, and mission oriented. Karen is genuine, authentic, and a compassionate provider. Karen earned both her Bachelor’s (1996) and

Master’s (1998) Degrees in Clinical Social Work at the University of Maine in Orono, Maine. She served in community mental health in Washington, DC; as a school social worker; adoption services (primarily home studies); emergency services, mental health therapist, and a federal government social worker (17 years).

You know what it is like to feel as if everything in your life is working against you. Share your story and what led you to Heal Thrive Dream. This is such a loaded question for me. I grew up in a dysfunctional family that included childhood abuse, domestic violence, and poverty. I wore a mask on my face daily for school ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

and I believe my disposition is naturally positive, but I really was struggling inside. I was anxious, depressed, and at times, hopeless. I hid razor blades in the pockets on clothes hanging in my closet. I was too scared to use them, blood freaks me out. The truth is, I didn’t really want to die. I just felt defeated with the constant abuse. I hated the way my family lived. I was tired of being called every name of the book. The constant misogyny wounded my spirit. I don’t remember what the last straw was, but at 12 years old, I took a handful of no name brand Tylenol and went to sleep that night praying God would take me.

I woke up feeling annoyed but then assumed God wanted me around. I spent more and more time at my best friend’s house. At 14, things were so bad at home, our medical doctor became involved. He informed mom that if she didn’t move out with her children, he was informing social services. With the help of my aunt, we relocated, and I could not have been happier! I was able to participate in school events and watch hockey games. It was too good to be true. Mom and I had a horrible fight as she was going back to dad. I refused to go. Since I didn’t have a choice as I was too young to pay rent, I ran away. Long story short, my aunt and Uncle became my guardians and my life stabilized. I finished high school with high grades and received scholarships. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from the University of Maine. I then created a beautiful life for myself.

Skipping ahead, once I had a healthy partner, three beautiful children, an amazing home, a six-figure career, I believed all of my dreams came true. I then saw an advertisement for Dream Builders program by

Mary Morrisey. I attended her event and learned that I could have even bigger dreams where I could truly make a larger impact on the world. I then created a mission to empower more women in their healing and thus Heal Thrive Dream, LLC was born. I selected the name as it describes what I offer. I empower women to heal from their childhood wounds, thrive in their relationships, and dream about their futures.

“Like any other woman who’s experienced trauma, I’m a beautiful blend of hot mess and amazing effectiveness.” Explain. Despite 25 years of clinical experience, I often struggle practicing what I preach in regard to self-care. I’m frequently trying to improve my routines and then selfsabotage by emotional eating, staying up too late or getting derailed by the most recent crisis. It could be a crisis in my family or a client’s. I often use external events to dictate how I should feel and behave. Like most survivors, healing has been a slow progression for me. I have witnessed both personally and professionally that avoiding our wounds does us no service. It is critical we learn how to regulate our emotions, heal in all realms

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

(spiritual, physical, emotional, mental, relational, energetically) in order to truly thrive. I am very effective or I’m a mess also means I tend to overwork until I burn out. It has been a cycle that I am actively trying to break. I’m happy to report that I no longer try to do things perfectly in order to feel valued. I assume now that I will be messy, make mistakes, and I will just keep trying to make progress. I am fortunate enough to work with other survivors who understand that if they need a perfect seeming therapist, I’m not a good fit for them. My clients love that I am honest, genuine, compassionate, and a fierce advocate for them.

You empower survivors to heal and recover from childhood abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, toxic work environments and all traumatic events, what do you offer? I offer a weekly podcast, “The Heal Thrive Dream Podcast.” We recently hit our 100th episode! I absolutely believe that telling our stories is incredibly healing for both my guests and my listeners. Each month, I offer a free healing coaching intensive for one hour.

I also offer a free Facebook group and I see three clients a week pro bono. Two other women and I facilitate a free grief and trauma group at Grace Community Church in Arlington, Virginia. We will be offering holiday workshops for survivors in our community. I will be offering the same workshops for the community either in my free coaching intensives or as a longer workshop with a small fee. My paid offerings include individual therapy for clients residing in Virginia. I offer 1:1 trauma recovery coaching to women worldwide virtually. I offer courses and workshops on Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Healing despite not receiving an apology and other topics. My online boutique offers inspirational jewelry, clothing, mugs/tumblers, blankets, totes for survivors that want to be surrounded with uplifting affirmations. My team and I empower women who want to become entrepreneurs set up their own ecommerce store. In my copious free time (lol!) I offer virtual assistant packages to empower women in their businesses. I manage a team of virtual assistants who design logos, graphics,

manage social media and so forth. We specialize in working with survivors by assisting with planning and organization. My favorite offering is my group membership which you will learn more about below. Tell us about your Five Hour VIP Day: Uplevel Your Mental available by Zoom.

I just said my favorite offer or program is my membership, but I do geek out over my VIP days too! I work with clients of all genders during my VIP days which take place during one block of time, up to five hours. Traditional therapy for many, especially survivors, is challenging because they barely warm up or feel comfortable working on something painful and then the session is over. Clients need time to feel safe, secure, and to build trust with their provider. Traditional therapy with sessions once or twice a month is not effective for everyone. Progress is often slow, or clients give up on their healing too quickly. This program is incredibly effective for survivors or for anyone desiring to work through a big hurdle. I

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

start with a thorough assessment of any new client, and I share with them the areas I see being valuable to work through. If they have a preference or already have a problem area in mind, we address that area. I use a mixture of top-down and bottom-up therapeutic approaches. This basically means we don’t only work on processing through emotional pain. We utilize self-care practices to regulate emotions throughout, so the client isn’t flooded emotionally and feels empowered to work through painful steps. We finish the session with a concrete action plan with steps for continued healing. Each VIP experience has been different and powerful.

The Heal Dream Thrive Podcast is making a huge difference in people’s lives. What can we find on your podcast? Podcasting is an incredibly powerful platform for survivors to share their stories. Feeling silenced, minimized, oppressed are common experiences for survivors. Sharing about their wounds and their healing journey is healing for them as well as our listeners.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. One of the podcast episodes featured is about a woman with an alias whose husband abused her and trafficked her. Her face won’t be shown due to safety, but she courageously shares her story with us. I have also invited her and other survivors during a summit I am hosting in October (details/logistics forthcoming). Please consider listening to my podcast and leaving a review. This helps my show grow and reach more survivors!

The Healing from Trauma Together Community is rapidly growing. What makes this community special? I feel a gush of warmth when thinking about the women in my membership! They would also describe themselves as successful but messy inside. We have a mixture of professional women and women on the rise. I offer bite size coaching at the beginning of each session based on a monthly theme. We then transition into peer support where women can share how the coaching topic impacted them or discuss anything else on their minds/hearts. The women

in the group are often surprised on the issues they have in common post trauma (family cutoffs, shame, low self-worth, addictive tendencies, perfectionism, etc.) Healing in support groups offers a compassionate community where members can share, connect, and find solace. The women feel validated and inspired. I offer three coaching sessions a month in the membership to accommodate women living in different time zones. I provide co-working sessions the first Saturday of each month for them to organize and plan out their month. I provide a list of options to include meal planning, errands, projects, self-care, writing, organizing, etc. Each month, members receive a workbook/planner to track their progress. It includes journaling prompts, affirmations, and selfdiscovery exercises. The women in the membership also get my courses and workshops without additional charges. One of the exciting offers we have is the ability for the public to sponsor a survivor at the insane low cost of $28 a month. One of our sponsors purchased five scholarships! This happened after I spoke at her conference (Connie

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

Ragen Green, a successful entrepreneur) and she blessed both me and FIVE other women with this life changing gift. We recognize sponsors in our newsletter (or they have the option to be anonymous). We will feature them on our website (building the page now!). Of course, there are tax advantages for individuals and businesses who are givers. You are often asked to speak at conferences. Share your topics.

In September 2023, I presented at the Swiss Resort on the topic of SelfCare, Self-Love with Dr. Ambia and three four other women in the wellness field. Most of my speaking has been on virtual summits, podcasts, schools, hospitals, and Department of Defense personnel. I have a variety of mental health topics I’m comfortable speaking about and training others. My true passion is speaking about the importance of empowering survivors and addressing how trauma is impacting our schools and communities both short and long term. www.healthrivedream.com

Childhood to Adulthood How was your transition from childhood to adulthood, and what are the bad and good things you remember? Looking back on this transition, I can honestly say that I had my share of challenges. I grew up when we didn't have the internet or social media. We had each other. We weren't flooded with information at our disposal. We had three Television networks, CBS, NBC, ABC, and a PBS channel, and radio, no cable TV. Life seemed more straightforward then. My immediate family, teachers, and some television shows influenced me. I was slow to change with the times. I faced different challenges as I grew from a child to an adult. I remember researching by going to the library and asking adults questions about what I needed to know. It was somewhat flawed because it was limiting and often left many unanswered questions. I remember the joy of togetherness with

family and friends, holiday events, and the one-on-one interaction you experience when there are no other options. I remember believing in myself very differently, where I didn't need validation from anyone outside of myself.

Struggle - What hardships have you gone through in life? One of the hardships I faced was not understanding or knowing who I was but knowing deep inside myself that I was more than I was led to believe. I had gifts inside of me, waiting to be explored and shared with the world, but I did not fully understand how to travel that journey with enough confidence to be my authentic self. I was also homeless at a time in my life and had to humble myself to find my way back after making some turns in my life that led me to some life-changing realities. It's hard to explain the truth of having nothing but also having everything at the

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

same time.

What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and life? I must admit that we are all somewhat affected by the competition around us. As I grow, I've become very comfortable in my skin and life purpose. What others do and experience in their journey is for them and has nothing to do with me. I send love and encouragement to all because what I do as an individual creator has nothing to do with them (my competitors). So, I look at competition very differently. I hope all will find their reason for being and do their thing like no other. It's the same in your personal life. You are who you are, born for this time to do what you do. That has nothing to do with the choices I make and the challenges I face in my growth and development. If it is for you, it will be yours, and if it is not for you, it won’t. All that stuff in between wastes time and energy for you to worry about.

What are your upcoming major events Unforgettable Moments or products/services that you want to promote/inform? I'm excited about my new book release, "It's Your Time to Shine." The balance between spirituality and creativity is now available on Amazon and wherever books are sold. It's an eye-opener and very different from what I'm used to sharing with the world. The read will get your motors running. I love the audiobook version very much because I narrated it myself. I believe the words are received with something extra special when I speak to them with my voice. It's also available on iTunes, Audible, and other audiobook outlets.

Also, I have a new Pilot TV series titled Sura Khan's The Chambers – In God, We Trust that I wrote & directed about the other

side of the judiciary system and what might be happening behind the scenes that makes that entire operation move. It has won 46 Film Festival awards, including Best New TV Series, Best New Pilot, Best Original Story, and Best Direction. The two-episode pilot is now airing on TUBI TV, Reveel TV, Prime Video, and Fawesom TV and movies. I'm seeking private funding & investments to get a season and more of the series produced in early 2024. I also have merchandise available on Amazon, Shirts, Bags, etc. – ShopSurakhanstore

Angela Duncan Host of Empower HER Money Podcast, Speaker, and Best-Selling Author By Jules Lavallee

Raised in Section 8 housing, relying on welfare, and working from a young age, Angela Duncan’s journey has been marked by resilience and determination. With 25 years of personal finance study, past Co-Owner of a top 10 RE/MAX office, built and sold an insurance company, a Dave Ramsey certified Coach, Host of Empower HER.

Money podcast, speaker, and best-selling author, Angela has honed her expertise to inspire hope through financial literacy. Graduating with a Finance Degree from California State University San Marcos, she embarked on a diverse career as a serial entrepreneur. Now, Angela is committed

to closing the poverty gap by empowering women to change their financial future, firmly believing that no matter where one starts in life, they have the power to shape their own destiny. Empower HER Money is one of the fastest growing Podcast Interviewing Entrepreneurs who help provide a roadmap to financial independence. Talking about all things business and money with women from all different industries. My mission is to Empower WOMEN through financial education as we all have a story to share.

Please share your personal story. I am a survivor of childhood abuse and ©Red Si lk Ca rpet™ December 2023

trauma. My mother was an alcoholic and my stepfather abused me. We moved more times than I can remember and lived in poverty. I remember one Christmas as a child, I wanted Christmas so badly even though we were living in a motel room with no money at the time. I took out a sheet of paper and drew a Christmas Tree on it, stuck it to the wall in that motel room. No presents, no real Christmas tree, just that piece of paper on the wall. My mission now is to help ensure no woman ever stays in a relationship due to lack of financial education. Perhaps if my mother knew more about money she would not have stayed with that man; I would not have endured that abuse.

Childhood to Adulthood How was your transition from childhood to adulthood and what are the bad and good things you remember? I moved out as soon as I was 18 and able to sign a lease. I had so much to learn and figure out, I was truly clueless. But I thought college would help me, so I would never be in poverty again. I remember my 1st investment. I walked into the bank and spoke to a nice lady, told her I had $100 to invest and wanted her help. She handed me a pamphlet and I mailed in my check. By the end of the year, I had lost $20. I knew I needed to learn more about investing. I worked many jobs, 7 days a week and finished college in 5 years. I started my career at Bank of America working with a team of financial advisors. I learned so much about the stock market and investing, which was awesome. But it wasn’t the right field for me.

I moved to Florida when my daughter was 3 and got my real estate license in 2007. If you remember, that was just before the worst real estate market we have seen. Great timing because it taught me

hard work and how to build a successful RE/MAX office during an economic downturn. I co-owned that office with my ex-husband and it was in the top 20 in the country for many years. We were great at building companies together but not at being married. We are still friends today. It’s so important to stay friends when co-parenting, I think our society misses that and the children suffer the greatest. I moved to Miami and built an insurance company. Sold that. I learned it still was not the right path for me. I believe God has a plan for all of us and when we get off that path, you feel it in your heart that it's not the right place for you, just a step along your journey.

Today- Empower HER Money was born. And I know I am finally in a great place mentally too. Many years of therapy from childhood trauma to today to help me love myself 1st. You cannot love others truly until you can love yourself first.

What do people usually not know about you? I love to collect old U.S.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

currency…big shock the money podcast host likes paper money collecting! Did you know the only woman to appear on paper currency in the U.S. was Martha Washington on the $1 silver certificate in 1886.

What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life? I am a heart-centered person and everything I do starts there. I focus on others first and help them grow, which leads to my own personal growth. Reminder too- small drops of water consistently can create an ocean. Be the small drops and contribute to others, together we will be the ocean of change to the world with financial literacy.

And I do not have a 2nd or 3rd gear. I am either idle or full speed ahead. It can be tiring and exciting at the same time. Jump on board and massive success or failure is just ahead.

What are your upcoming major events Unforgettable Moments or products/services that you want to promote/inform?

Loving the Podcast Hosting life! First, Empower HER Money podcast is available on all podcast platforms, YouTube, ROKU, and Amazon Fire. I am SO blessed to interview female entrepreneurs and together we teach money and business to females worldwide. My goal is to be #1 female business podcast! I also had the opportunity to write and publish a #1 best-selling book Empower YOUR Money on Amazon this year which I am turning into a course where I dive deep into each concept.

Your love life, relationships, and family?

I have a beautiful and intelligent 20-year-old daughter currently enrolled at Florida Atlantic University as a marketing major. Plus 2 rescue dogs that keep me happy at home. Miami is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and I am blessed to call it home. What expert advice would you like to give?

LOVE this question!!! I have several. First, showing up plus mindset is 100% of the business game. You have full control over BOTH. Second, cancel out the noise that is not helping you personally and professionally grow. It’s not worth your time and time is your MOST

valuable asset, stop giving it away. Next, charge more. Charge more for your services, as women we tend to under charge and leave money on the table that can better serve your family and community. Finally…you are 1 connection, 1 idea, and 1 implementation away from massive success. Sharon Brown, Founder of The Book Chief ‘Book Publisher of the Year 2023’ By Jules Lavallee

Originally from Glasgow in Scotland, Sharon moved to England in 2003. After a wide-ranging career in Event Management, Marketing, Project Management and board level support in various industries, Sharon started an Events Agency in 2015.

After realizing that business was heading more towards the online digital space, Sharon subsequently launched four online platforms, the first being a Women in Business platform in 2018 called Revival Sanctuary with a mission of creating a ‘Collaborating over Competing’ environment. Two further projects were launched during lockdown with the aim of helping small business owners raise their profiles through speaking, writing, publishing and collaborative

working and one of these was MO2VATE Magazine (now MO2VATE Media) which was born in six weeks from concept to implementation. MO2VATE has a fantastic following through its subscribers, supporters and is now a membership driven business and information hub online.

The Speaker’s Index was the third platform to be launched as Sharon saw a gap in the market around Speaking Agencies and the lack of promotion towards their speakers. The Speaker’s Index is an online directory which also houses a quality Speakers Magazine highlighting the speakers’ talents. This platform is currently merging with collaborative partners and will be relaunched nearer the end of 2023.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

The Book Chief Publishing House is Sharon’s latest business, launched in 2021 and already with an impressive resume of clients and Authors. The Book Chief has just been awarded ‘Book Publisher of the Year 2023’ and has published over 250 Authors to date including the youngest known author ever to be published at age just 4. The company has a global reach with clients in the US, Canada, India, and Europe and is continuing to grow exponentially. The latest personal project Sharon is undertaking is a collaborative book incorporating 99 Female Authors called ‘The Secrets of 99 Successful Women’ which focuses on everyday successes in life and business. The second volume will be launched on International Women’s Day 2024 with applications now open.

©Red Si lk Ca rpet™ December 2023

You are a serial entrepreneur in publishing and speaking. Tell us about your background. My background is mainly in Marketing and Events, but my reasons for starting both The Book Chief and The Speakers Index, is my mission to help small business owners become more visible.

I realized how hard it was to do this when I started out and so ALL three of my businesses concentrate on building credibility, authority, and exposure mainly through social media channels. The Book Chief was the last business I started in 2021 during lockdown and this had been sitting with me for over a year. I knew I wanted to publish lots of my own collaborative books and so I retrained, launched and to date we've published over 250 Authors from over 20 Countries.

Today, The Book Chief Publishing House has an impressive resume of global clients and Authors. Is there at least one book in everyone? I would say absolutely

YES!!! We've all lived a life. We all have knowledge on various topics we've learned during that life, and we all have an imagination. AI has also made things far easier now in terms of helping you come up with ideas and research so there is no excuse, especially if you're a business owner, to start aligning your book around your business. This instantly creates a perspective of influence and authority and lets people know that you have something to say on your subject and that you have enough to say that can produce a stunning book full of valuable insight.

How do we get started? Write down five things you could talk about a lot. From those five, choose the one that gives you goosebumps. The one that you could talk all day about and not worry about coming up for air. Once you've decided what that is, create a 'mind map' and list out all the areas within that topic that you could talk about. That's your chapter headings! You can do this for any genre of book whether it be a business book or novel. That's the easiest way to get started in terms of writing. If you've

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

already written your book and you want to publish through an Award-Winning Publishing House, then obviously I'd say contact us, regardless of where you are in the world. We publish books from Authors worldwide with the best guidance and advice and after care to make sure you're doing everything you can to make your book a success.

You were awarded ‘Book Publisher of the Year 2023’ and have published over 250 Authors to date including the youngest known author ever to be published at age just 4. What does it take to be a bestselling author? The one thing we don't do is guarantee anyone a 'bestselling' spot. This might be controversial, but on Amazon, if you apply some loopholes, you can get that status, but it doesn't actually mean that you're a best seller in that sense of the word. The ones to really go for are the New York Times Best Seller and The Sunday Times Best Seller. These require you to sell between 5000 and 10000 books in a week which I feel is more a TRUE account of the term.

We don't offer a guarantee, but we do give advice on how you can get up the rankings in Amazon in terms of categories, keywords, and reviews. Authors need to constantly be pushing their books out there and making it known and that gives it a very good chance of rising high on the selling list.

Tell us about your collaborative publishing and the book series ‘The Secrets of 99 Successful Women’. The purpose was to bring 99 women together, supporting each other, connecting, and sharing how they've had success in various areas of their lives and not just around business. So many women forget and have low selfworth because they think they haven't succeeded in life, but this book opens that up to every aspect of a woman's life including motherhood, friendship, trauma, illness, challenges of any kind that they've succeeded at. It's a truly powerful book and the event was amazing on International Women's Day 2023. We've now opened it up for Volume Two in 2024.

Women from many countries have taken part and we're looking for a diverse range of women again.

The second volume will be launched on International Women’s Day 2024 with applications now open. What will be unique about this second volume? Each woman makes it unique. Although the concept will be similar, the book gains its power through the individual stories that each woman tells. Their experiences, like all of us, are totally different and each story brings new perspective, new motivation, and inspiration to anyone who may be needing to hear it at that time. Anthologies of books are never the same as the women are different. The personalities are different and most importantly, the energy is different.

What makes The Book Chief Publishing House a winning combination for authors today? We provide a step-by-step

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

process guiding each Author through the Publishing process. Writing a book is a daunting thing to do and publishing it is even more daunting as you're opening yourself up to criticism, judgment and much more. The Book Chief provides that motivation and confidence to push ahead in the right way. Authors can also leverage our communities to gain support. Our brand reputation speaks for itself and although anyone can self-publish, there is a massive difference in having someone to 'hold your hand' and give you the right advice and guidance throughout and afterwards. That's what we do and we're always there to lean on before, during and afterwards. There's also a real 'status' value when people announce they have a book and a 'Publisher' as opposed to just uploading it themselves. Much goes into creating a beautiful looking and professional standard of book and I would advise anyone thinking of it to do it through a reputable Publishing House. www.thebookchief.com

Ryan Turkmen 13, An Elite Competitive Soccer Player, Published Author & Celebrity Podcaster Releases New Book “THE GAME” By Jules Lavallee

Ryan Turkmen, a remarkable thirteen-yearold talent in the world of competitive soccer, has added another feather to his cap with the release of his exhilarating new book titled "The Game.” A fictional thriller. He has an impressive resume that includes being a soughtafter athlete, competing in 2023 World Cup Soccer in Italy, as well as being an accomplished author and celebrity podcaster where he interviews Russel Horning (aka Back Pack Kid) from Saturday Night Live. Turkmen once again proves that age is no barrier when chasing dreams and achieving greatness. "The Game" takes readers on a thrilling ride through the captivating world of a fictional soccer tournament. Drawing inspiration from his experiences as an elite player and beloved host of the celebrity podcast 'Turkmen Live' (www.turkmenlive.com) It with Ryan,' Turkmen weaves together an intricate web of suspense and excitement that will leave readers breathless until the final whistle. I got inspired to write a second book after

my first one, "The Journey."

Please share your background. Growing up in Toronto, Canada, all I could think about was soccer. It consumed my thoughts and fueled my every move. At just five years old, while other kids were playing with toys and games, I focused on training and honing my skills as if it were my sole purpose in life. My dream of becoming a professional soccer player ignited within me like fire, driving me to pursue greatness with unwavering determination. As I took on this thrilling journey of chasing my dreams, I soon realized that it wasn't only about dribbling the ball or scoring goals; it required discipline, sacrifice, and focus both on and off the field. While attending grade school as a student-athlete striving for excellence in everything I did, there was no denying that maintaining good grades posed challenges, with many hours dedicated to perfecting my sport. Little did I know back then that these struggles would become an integral part of

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

shaping my character and developing my future career awaiting me in professional soccer – where hard work meets triumph!

Childhood to Adulthood How was your transition from childhood to adulthood and what are the bad and good things you remember? As a young child, I was more than just a dreamer; my imagination soared higher than the clouds, and I believed I could accomplish anything I set my mind on each day. From morning to night, achieving my goals inspires me to push boundaries and pursue greatness. As if guided towards success, as I entered my early teens, which I am today, those dreams began to manifest into reality. But there were some obstacles along the way. Growing up in a rough neighborhood meant constantly choosing between the streets and bad friends or focusing on what matters. Yet every step forward fueled determination and an unwavering faith in myself.

Struggle - What hardships have you gone through in life? Growing up with a single mother holding two jobs and no father forced me to become independent at an early age. While my friends still relied on their parents for guidance and support, I had already mastered the art of self-sufficiency. From morning until nightfall, my days buzzed with endless responsibilities that seemed to multiply before me. I fearlessly balanced schoolwork, household chores, and my future goal of soccer. It brought out strengths within myself that I never knew existed.

What do people usually not know about you? When they look at me, most people see me as a normal thirteen-year-old. Which, for the most part, I am.

That is until they see me on the soccer field. I am no longer an average teenager but a force to be reckoned with.

What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life? Competition is my life. As a thirteen-year-old competitive soccer player in one of the top teams in Toronto, my achievements speak for themselves. While most teens my age focus on school and their sport of choice, I have hosted my celebrity podcast, Turkmen Live, and have two books published by True American Publishing. I am presently represented by a brand management company that brings on sponsorship opportunities.

What are your upcoming major events ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

Unforgettable Moments or products/services that you want to promote/inform? One of my most recent unforgettable moments was playing in Italy at the World Cup Soccer tournament in June 2023 and winning the silver cup.

What expert advice would you like to give? If I were to pass on advice as a thirteen-year-old, I would tell people that failure is only the experience of success and that if you can dream it, you can do it no matter your age.

The 21-Day Gratitude Challenge journal is offered as an educational tool to inspire readers to reflect on gratitude and create peace in the world. The journal includes art and writing prompts and is offered as inspiration to increase one’s awareness of gratitude and appreciation. In addition to the 21-Day Gratitude Challenge, Dr. Amy Backos has further enriched the lives of countless women through her role as the creator of the Modern Creative Woman Membership Program. This exclusive program, detailed on ModernCreativeWoman.co m, offers a platform for women to connect, rediscover their creative genius and embark on a collective journey of personal and creative growth.

How are you pairing personal growth with the creative process so women can live and love with purpose? Creativity is a vital part of humanity and an essential way of knowing ourselves, others, and our communities. Yet, it often gets socialized out of us in exchange for a focus on logic and external success. Creativity and selfexpression offers a world view for optimal satisfaction, success, and

fun. It's about how we approach our work as well as how we think, speak, move, dress, make love, and connect to others. Creative thinking also informs our career success and our satisfaction in relationships. As women, we often get so wrapped up in caring for others and achieving at work, that we forget about our natural gifts of intuition and creative thinking. Women often recognize they have been striving for inner and outer approval, even following dreams that don’t really suit them. I noticed many women struggle with knowing what to do with this awareness and in taking the next step towards their happiness and authentic lives. It takes a lot of courage and a whole new set of tools to transform frustration, sadness, loneliness, and resentment into a life well lived. I have worked with thousands of people in my career and the one common thread for lasting healing is creative thinking and personal expression. We have over 6,000 thoughts a day, and science estimates 80% are negative thoughts. Furthermore, 95% of our thoughts are repetitive! No wonder we have trouble finding solutions to negative self-talk and impostor syndrome! I teach women how to

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

expand their mind, overcome repetitive negative thoughts, and completely change their relationship to thoughts and feelings. I get so much pleasure from coaching women and seeing how their careers and love lives transform. I use a sciencebacked approach to teach the art and science of creativity. It is my passion and I love being of service to women all around the world.

Tell us about The Modern Creative Woman. The Modern Creative Woman empowers women to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and empowerment using the art and science of creativity. The platform serves women at all levels of their journey towards authenticity. I teach science-backed procedures for change and neuroaesthetics, which uses neuroscience to understand our experiences of art, creativity, and beauty. Researchers agree that 7090% of our communication is non-verbal, so successful communication at work or with our loved ones includes attention to these important ways of knowing. I facilitate women reacquainting with their creative, intuitive selves.

Women who work with me find themselves happier, more satisfied, and better able to make powerful decisions.

A bespoke coaching package offers a fast-track VIP experience for clarity, purpose and focus for career excellence, harnessing strengths, and working in your zone of genius.

For women who are craving friendships and connection, I offer international excursions. Our Paris trip brings together five months of individual and group coaching and cumulates in a powerful five day intensive in Paris. This will be my 6th international trip for women and this time The Modern Creative Woman is partnering with Aurora Devoli from Girl Boss Paris for a unique Parisian experience. I also offer monthly group classes for education and accountability. This membership is a powerful tool for women who are self-directed and dedicated

to their creative routines.

In the spirit of the holiday season, you are generously gifting everyone a free 21-Day Gratitude Challenge workbook using art and journaling. Tell us about why this gift can make a lasting impact? Making gratitude a core strength can change your life…and I know! When I first started using strengths-based assessments with my clients over a decade ago, I discovered gratitude was at the bottom of my strengths! I reviewed the research on how gratitude truly makes our lives better. The

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

evidence was robust! Gratitude improves our mental health, increases our happiness and empathy for ourselves and others, and even brings us closer to the people we love. The Modern Creative Woman 21 Day Gratitude Challenge emerged after talking with a group of inspiring women. I am so lucky to be a part of an antiracism group and I have been collaborating with some of these women for almost 30 years! We encourage each other to make our contributions wherever we can, even when it feels insufficient.

After one of our meetings where we discussed current events, I asked myself how I could contribute to a more peaceful world using my talents, gifts, and blessings. I thought of all the women I admire and how much I appreciate that each of them allowed their light shine so others could benefit. And the Gratitude Challenge began to take shape. Just imagine if everyone woke up tomorrow with a focus on gratitude and inner peace…the world would be a very different place indeed! The Modern Creative Woman 21 Day Gratitude Challenge is unique because in less than a month, you learn tools to

with a Treasure Hunt in Paris. Why is Paris the perfect place?

Being away from our usual routines makes the creativity flow.

It is a rare woman who takes time to curate her creative life. And when she does…watch out! Paris is the perfect place for a transformation. History, film, and literature are full of tales of women becoming their true selves in Paris. The City of Lights offers creative inspiration from what I consider to be a uniquely feminine perspective. Women describe the feeling of freedom in Paris – and that is central to cultivating our authentic selves. My first solo trip was at the age of 19 and I went to Paris for New Year’s Eve.

What can we look forward to?

cultivate gratitude (recognizing that good exists and it comes from outside of us), appreciation (using creative thinking to integrate the good into your life), and visual self-expression (a daily drawing to capture the nonverbal experience of gratitude). I made the workbook free on my webpage and it is copyright free so everyone can share it with friends, family, students, and clients.

I was struck by the beauty and understood the importance of being in environments I personally found beautiful.

You are offering a oncein-a-lifetime experience in 2024 for women to ignite their creativity and revolutionize their artistry

Retreats have become an essential part of my selfcare and business planning, as well as for writing my books and making art.

Furthermore, the pace of Paris inspires self-reflection and creativity as well as the potential for external transformation through a personal style rebrand. Retreats have a long history as powerful, sacred times of reflection, insight, and transformation.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

This Paris Retreat is ideal for a woman looking to elevate her authenticity who is ready for elegant guidance on her next evolution, who is craving a little luxury, and an intimate community. Before you even step on the airplane, you will know your personal strengths and your style brand. Each day in Paris begins with an exquisite petit déjeuner in a luxury hotel with community, art, and aesthetics at the forefront. Women will learn and grow through five intimate workshops on style, art, creative expression, and branding. We are looking forward to a delightful culinary experience with a master chef, professional photo shoot, and a celebration cruise on the Seine. There will be plenty of time to take in Paris at your own pace, socialize with your new friends or enjoy the hotel’s incredible spa. I also offer bespoke individual coaching packages in Paris for women looking for a curated and private experience.

Share your mission for the trip. The women on my trips always return home transformed! Women will emerge from Paris experiencing themselves as worthy, creative, intuitive, decisive, empowered, and fun! They clarify their creative vision (no art skills required)!, eliminate confusion in values and brand, solidify their authentic style and cultivate their unique voice. Women become mistresses of their strengths and truly captivate themselves (and others too!).

As we close 2023, what is

your vision for 2024? I believe women can increase their presence and power in the world by mastering their creative thinking. It is my dream to see creativity take a stronger role as a tool for healing, recovery, empowerment, and personal development. I believe 2024 is the year for women to release what no longer serves us and speak with our authentic voice.

In 2024, I am happily working inside The Modern Creative Woman – it’s my dream job after all! You can find me each week on The Modern Creative Woman

“RESILIENCE & FRIENDS: THE CYCLES OF NATURE” IS A SUSTAINABLE HOLIDAY OPTION Jessica Jane Robinson’s New Graphic Novel Inspires & Educates By Jules Lavallee

San Francisco Bay Area environmental leader and performance artist Jessica Jane Robinson has released a new children’s book titled “Resilience & Friends! The Cycles of Nature” to support her work with elementary school kids in schools all over the west.

Robinson, who studied drama in college and has an acting background, created an alter ego graphic comic book hero named Resilience, and a graphic novel series called “Resilience: Birthright,” to help reach people through artful storytelling and to inspire cultural and social change. She created an entire K-12 school program around this “environmental superhero” and has become a hot commodity for cities

and schools all over the San Francisco Bay Area as well as southern Colorado. “I want to inspire a new generation of potential environmental leaders to take their place in protecting the future of the planet,” says Robinson, a former Miss Alameda (20102011) and founder of the non-profit organization Resilience Birthright.

In 2020, the world came to a screeching halt. Tell us about how this time was the catalyst for your children’s book, “Resilience with Friends.” I have been a zero-waste practitioner and an active, impactful environmental

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

leader in the Bay Area for over a decade. I have served as President of the Northern California Recycling Association since last year (and Vice President from 2016-2022), and treasurer from 20132016. I used my platform as Miss Alameda (2010-2011) to showcase sustainability and climate issues by creating a character I played called “Recycle Woman,” complete with a costume and superhero cape. The character evolved into an imaginative story, and I renamed her “Resilience,” and a graphic novel series called “Resilience Birthright” was launched in 2018.

©Red Si lk Ca rpet™ December 2023

In my hometown of Alameda, I used the Miss Alameda platform to launch a grassroots program called “Miss Alameda Says Compost!” (MASC), which helped the city address the Climate Protection Plan it adopted in 2008. MASC was crucial in assisting Alameda to work toward reaching its diversion goals by 2020. I have developed innovative programs for school districts in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and implemented recycling and compost programs throughout the Bay Area. I work with businesses, community organizations, school districts, and individuals on engagement projects that help achieve zero waste and climate protection goals. In 2012, I got involved with former Vice President Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project and quickly became an “Al Gore Climate Leader” by August of that year. Among the 19,000 climate leaders from 154 countries around the world, I am ranked by the organization in the top 50 and top 1% for the impact I have had since becoming a climate leader. In 2019, I made presentations 110 times and reached over 27,000 people. In 2020, the world came to a screeching halt. All the schools I supported and worked with for over a

decade shut their doors. The teachers and principals I have known for years were all thrown online to teach the children without prior preparation for any scenario or situation we experienced from 2020 to early 2021. I witnessed everyone scrambling to figure out how to teach the children under dire circumstances, and my green team parents desperately needed entertaining environmental education for their children online. As a zero-waste advocate, problem solver, and passionate artist, I always seek ways to create and share meaningful content with my audiences. I recognized the need for more environmental educational content and sought grant funding to meet the demand. I received a mini grant to write an environmental literacy book that could be a hybrid for online teaching, in the classroom, or for homeschooling; this was the humble beginning for "Resilience & Friends: Cycles of Nature."

What is your vision when it comes to educating children about zerowaste? When it comes to educating children about zero-waste, my goal has always been to inspire them and empower them to grow as responsible

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

members of our global community. I hope to influence the children to grow into adulthood fully recognizing their individual impact on the world, and then to choose to respect and honor the planet, our natural resources, and our natural habitats. My dream is that even if they all pursue different life paths and career choices, they understand the importance of sustainability and do what they can to help us clean up and protect our planet.

Tell us about The Resilience Birthright Saga Season One and your inspiration for this book. The Resilience Birthright Saga Season One is a thirteen-chapter story about Resilience, an Evolusarian from Planet Terravitae, raised on Earth as an earthling. Her destiny is to stop her nemesis, Apophis, from destroying the planet. The Saga reveals Resilience’s internal challenges as she breaks through her mental blocks and insecurities to fulfill her destiny and become a hero. The friends Resilience makes through her journey also have stories of personal truths that shed light on how individual choices and daily actions contribute to the planet for better or worse.

©Red Si lk Ca rpet™ December 2023

Once she accepts her calling, she finds herself thrown into a war between the forces of good and evil as Apophis’s army looms closer. Will she be able to stop Apophis’s nefarious plans in time?

humans can also help heal the planet. By the end of 2013, I took all my research, and passion, and started to write the 13-chapter saga.

The inspiration behind the Resilience Birthright Saga: Season One began after I shared my short film "Recycle Woman," with one of my advisors Vince DeQuattro who used to work for George Lucas at ILM, in April 2012. Vince liked the messaging behind "Recycle Woman," but felt something was missing and he gave me some feedback and suggestions to help me move forward with the project. One suggestion was to create another name for my character. He felt Recycle Woman was limited, and he was right. I started to do intense research on environmental challenges that year, and by October 2012, I changed my character's name to Resilience. In early 2013, I came to the conclusion that what is happening to the planet with regard to environmental problems is caused by human activity. I felt at the time that with proper guidance, education, and awareness,

Resilience: Birthright encourages fans to become leaders who actively reduce climate change, pollution, and the depletion of natural resources.

How is Resilience: Birthright is different from other comics?

These stories are based on real heroes who help restore our planet and address actual environmental challenges through fictional storytelling and characters.

What are some of the takeaways? I believe that with patience, understanding, education, and increased awareness of the central issues, we can guide the future generations toward a brighter and healthier future and planet.

Can you share the proudest moment of your career? Many moments in my

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

career have brought me joy, and it's hard to identify one specific moment. What I can say that remains consistent for me are the moments when people share how much they appreciate my work and books. I am reminded why I do what I do every time I meet another person who is enthusiastic and inspired by what I am creating.

What is next for you? In the next year or so, I will be releasing another edition of "Resilience & Friends," producing an online show called "Storytime with Resilience," Chapter 2 of my graphic novel series, and a few more projects. I’m also in the process of expanding my school's program to Colorado and want to eventually take it national. I keep myself pretty busy!!! https://www.resiliencebirt hright.org

Kenny Wilkerson of Nova Rex: New Cookbook, “Rockin” Re c ip e s for A u tis m ” By Jules Lavallee

Photographer Monique Tedesco

Kenny Wilkerson is the bassist and co-founding member of Nova Rex and has spent more than 36 years in rock 'n roll. Wilkerson’s artifacts – including clothes, instruments, posters, and recordings - can now be seen on display at the Hard Rock Café, The Smithsonian National Museum of American History, and the Indiana State Museum. Since the 1980’s, Nova Rex has released seven albums and was listed as one of the top 50 heavy metal bands. Wilkerson recently released a new cookbook, "Rockin Recipes for Autism," to raise funds and awareness about autism. His only son is autistic and as Wilkerson is quick to point out, the numbers keep rising. A portion of the proceeds of the cookbook are donated to charities dedicated to research and music therapy. The 127-page, Rockin’

Recipes for Autism features recipes from members of Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Stone Sour, Poison, Evanescence and more. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 1 in 36 children in the United States has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in 2023, a rate that has tripled in the past decade. www.rockinrecipesforautis m.com

What is it like to have dinner with a rock star? Everyone loves music and food. Both unite us as people and families so there's nothing better, especially during the holiday season. It's funny because rockstars are just like ordinary people......well, maybe we're a little bit more out there. Most businessmen don't jump around a stage for hours at a time or go on the road for months... But we all want the same things in life.... We want our ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

families to be happy, safe, and healthy. So - I guess having dinner with a rock star is pretty much the same, except it might be a little louder.

Tell us about your son. My son is my hero. I love him with all of my heart. He's so smart, but he just thinks differently than most people. When I was a kid, my hero was Jimmy Paige. His hero is Elon Musk. When I say my son is my hero, I'm not joking. Life is much more of a struggle for him with daily activities yet he's a genius. They say Beethoven and Einstein likely had some form of Autism. That's my son. He's super smart. He's verbal, but if he doesn't want to talk about something, he just won't answer. I feel like his brain is a computer.... he just is constantly computing numbers and ideas. I tell parents who have children with autism to have patience.

When you first get the diagnosis, it's both scary and can be devastating because you feel like you failed. You want to give your child the best of everything, and you still can. It's just different. For instance, my son attended 3 elementary schools, and 2 middle schools, and it was really hard. But he's doing great now. He's 22-yearsold and I'm just so proud of him.

Tell us about your cookbook. This is a passion project of mine. It took me three years to put it together and we were delayed with COVID so I'm super pumped to finally get this cookbook out. It's not just about great food, but also about awareness for autism. There are some awesome recipes in the book and obviously, it's for a great cause. But it's not just the recipes. Each rock star also shares a story about the recipe and some photos so it's personal.

Do you have a favorite dish? There are so many great recipes, but one of my favorite stories comes from

Joey Allen. He's the guitarist from Warrant. Joey shared a marinara sauce recipe that had been in his family for 100 years. I just think that's so cool, plus it tastes great.

What did you learn about the meaning of friendship? Well, this is a time of giving and I have to say a lot of my rock star friends gave of themselves. I didn't have to ask twice. When I said I wanted to do a cookbook to raise awareness about autism, they all lined up. The rock and roll community is a tight-knit group and we all pull for each other.

What Foundations do you support? A portion of the proceeds go to Foundations that specifically provide music therapy or do research. Some of the Foundations we support are We Rock for Autism and Autism Speaks. I'm thinking of starting my own Foundation so we can provide music therapy for schools that can't afford it. There's been a lot of research that shows kids with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can benefit from music therapy because

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

many of these kids are nonverbal.

What's Next for Kenny? I'm always busy with something. The Indiana State Museum just put some of my artifacts on display to show what fashion was like in the 80's. The Smithsonian and Hard Rock already have a lot of my stuff on display. I'm still playing gigs, so the band is still going after 35 years. We have a new documentary, Ain't Easy Staying Cheesy Nova Rex: It Ain't Easy STAYING Cheesy - Official Trailer YouTube. But my passion will always be raising awareness for autism. The numbers are crazy.....when I was a kid, there was maybe one kid in a class that was a little different. Now - 1 in 36 kids in the U.S. has autism spectrum disorder. I wish I could collect all these kids and have them work for NASA or work on a cure for cancer. Seriously, some of these kids are so smart. But for right now, I'll take my cookbook and hope it makes a difference by raising more awareness and a few more dollars for autism research and music therapy.

Currently streaming on all platforms. Bringing the Joy back to the Holidays. When you stream this song, you will bring the Fun back through a dynamic parody “The Day the Turkey Fought Back.” After watching a Kung Fu marathon, the turkeys decide to seek their revenge. Your tummy will giggle in delight as you watch the cartoon music video via YouTube. This song will have you dancing through the kitchen and living rooms or even in your

pickup truck. Reminds one of the old classic Grandma got run over by a reindeer. - Uncle Ryano The Turkey fought back is a Smash.”

— Billy Ray Cyrus

Born to Major league pitching star Archie Reynolds, and Texas Actress/singer and beauty queen Theresa Reynolds, Ryan R. Reynolds aka Uncle Ryano was born July 7th, 1971. His career started in 1993, Over the next 15 years Ryano wrote several memorable songs for other artists, movies, and TV shows. His major hit on imprint record was “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind,” “Cowboy Up,” was the first official PRCA (Pro Rodeo Cowboy Association) album and also the anthem for the Boston Red Sox. ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

2003-2004 Abel Kane was born. Founded by Ryano and fellow musician Jamey Perenot (Leeanne Rhymes, Stevie Nicks, Taylor Swift), they began the molding and reinvention of their favorite grooves. Pete Iannaconne (Barry White, Joss Stone, Shakira) joined the team in 2004, a world class bass maestro of the highest order. The three of them began the process of honing their sound and began playing venues in Nashville where the biggest acts in rock, pop and country were often spotted in the crowd. In 2008 Due to the loss of family Ryano decided to step away from the music and focus on the meaning of life. For 15 years, Ryano and his amazing wife Melissa “baby” and daughter lived a simple life.

2021-2022, Ryano was informed that Billy Ray Cyrus wanted to connect with him about some old songs he had written. The two connected and through the process of retooling the old songs with replacement lines, it was decided that one of the replacement lines would make a great song by itself. And just like that “Twerkin’ With a Twang” was born. Ryano reconnected with his dear friends Bryan Austin Cuevas, Renee Truex, and Ira Dean (Trick Pony), and the music started rolling! Joining the team was Mark Nemer (Whitney Houston), Kim Keyes (Lionel Richie, Joe Cocker, Peter Cetera), Dane Bryant, DJ A\Villain, DJ KO, Jason Parfait (Harry Connick Jr), and before they knew it, they had cranked out (2) 12 song albums. The “Voices in My Head” Includes the hit “The Turkey fought back” and “New West,” which were the first albums recorded in 18 years Under his Record label Bottle Rocket Records. In 2023, most recently joined Hope4Maui and Stormsar

foundation in a benefit concert series to help those who were displaced in the Lahaina, Maui, HI fires Both albums are available on All streaming platforms.

Fame and entertainment run in your family. Share your background. "I had an uncle (Roscoe

Anderson) who had achieved regional success, and my father was a sports star, my mother was an actress and incredible singer. That said, nothing was offered or suggested that I should pursue music, it was quite the contrary. Music was what we did for fun, but it wasn't a viable way to make a living. Still, I pushed forward and was in several bands starting out from the age of 17, until I left for Nashville at age 22. I grew up working hard strenuous jobs on the family farm and for other people, I tried to focus on other ways to make my money, but every wrong turn kept leading me right back to music."

You have faced many losses, how have your experiences translated into your song writing? " Loss is part of living, and you won't be much of a writer until you have lived quite a bit.

The old ones taught me the power of hard work. They also taught me there is no "safe" and there is never enough time, so spend it wisely. I began learning bass guitar at 16 and singing at 17. I began learning guitar that same year, I sat in with my first band just before my 18th birthday, was doing shows by the age of 19, pretty much filled the space ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

and hit the ceiling by 21 and moved to Nashville at 22. I've learned there is never a "right time" for anything, and time is ticking away, always.

You either start trying or don’t. If it's meant to happen it will, and everyone needs to identify for themselves what quantifies success. For me it was validation that I was good enough to stand next to the most celebrated on a stage, or to write regularly with award winning songwriters.” Your newly released album “Voices in My Head,” has a new holiday hit record, “The Turkey Fought Back.” Tell us about your inspiration for the song and the dynamic parody “The Day the Turkey Fought Back.” "I was flipping through the news channels when G.W. Bush was holding a Turkey, and the news anchor was asking if he planned to pardon it. The turkey’s expression was like "I'm innocent".

I was thinking it's a rigged system and how funny would it be if the Turkey broke out some Cobra Kai moves there on live TV. It also made me remember a memory from childhood, when my uncle's boat house was constantly ransacked by raccoons and Nutria (water rat).

My grandfather told him to leave a radio playing loud country music and that would scare them off. When my uncle returned to find the same thing once again, he called my grandfather and told him. Grandaddy asked if he'd had the local country station goin, and my uncle said he had, but the Raccoons and The Nutria had come in anyway, and changed the station to rock, and it was plain Run DMC when he walked up to the

boathouse!! It was a story that was retold a hundred times, but it gave me a fun idea of how the Turkeys in my song could get their dojo training!! "

new listeners. This was a chance to tell a story and twist out some unexpected laughs.

I love making people smile and laugh with an unexpected twist or turn. I grew up when there were more story songs in music. Now they are mostly nonexistent. I not only fuse different styles together into new sounds, but I also love to resurrect old styles for

" Yes! I grew up with an amazing family! Great aunts and uncles, 2 great grandmothers, both sets of living grandparents and cousins everywhere! We would have to eat Thanksgiving at 3 different houses when I was younger!!

Have the holidays always been a special time for you?

Same would go for Christmas and Easter. Tyler Tx, Chapel Hill Tx, and Swinney Town Tx is where I was built! I have carried every one of those people and places with me, all across the world. I will forever be grateful for who and where I am from. The holidays were a magical time where we all gathered at the home of an "elder" and relieved every shenanigan and funny story that made us family.

"Billy Ray Cyrus has said that “The Turkey fought back is a Smash.” How has Billy Ray Cyrus inspired you? ” Billy is amazing and he gave me the last little nudge to see if I was still good enough, one more time! My wife and daughter had asked me for a while, but it didn't feel like the time. Then, with the introduction of Billy and myself writing, reconnecting with. Bryan Austin Cuevas, Renee Truex, and Ira Dean...it felt like a cosmic thing was happening, and I needed to stop questioning and get my butt to work! “

Tell us about your song, “New West.” I had been in Alberta Canada for the Bicentennial celebration. I had written several songs with top Canadian artists and was going to meet up with Paul Brandt and we had a writing appointment after

the show. While there, I saw their Calgary signs saying welcome to the New West. I loved that. However, it was actually the old west, in a new place. I kept thinking there was a better place to apply that phrase and while spending time in Las Vegas, it just clicked. It's the modern Babylon built by outlaws and carved out of the desert, into a city of sin paradise. At that point it was easy. I just wrote what I saw......and I saw a lot...but I'll never tell!!! Vegas rules!!!! Shhhhhh!!

In 2023, you launched your own company, "BOTTLE ROCKET RECORDS LLC" and your new store. Share your vision for your company in 2024. Well, everything is growing in all directions, honestly faster than we expected. In the first 5 months we have passed 400k streams on Spotify without any official promotions. I politely declined some invitations to perform last summer and haven't been pushing for bookings, but it currently looks like we may have 4 big shows coming up in the first 3 months of 2024. My dear friend is retiring from a city official position, and I will do a small thing with them for the night, and we have dates shaping up in Atlanta GA, San Antonio Tx Las Vegas NV, and who knows what else. ©Red Silk Carpet™ The store is alsoDecember slowly2023

taking shape. We have been focused on acquiring quality material for the shirts and caps and we have been working with our supporters to find out what kind of swag they would love to see beyond the standard shirts, caps, CDs, koozies, 8x10 photos, we are actually envisioning this being quite a big inventory of items once it's all built up.

I really want to ask everyone to check out the music on iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, SoundCloud, Apple Music, Panorama, and share it with all of your friends and family. You guys are my rock stars! These songs were written for you! In my tribe we never use the term "fans"! We have supporters and investors! You become both with every song you stream and every album you download!! Risin g Star Sin ger/ Son gwriter Kelsie Kimb erlin : Powerful Tribute to Ukraine By Jules Lavallee

Kelsie Kimberlin is a 24year-old singer-songwriter who has been involved with music her entire life, starting with children’s and church choirs and then recording her first song at age eight for Yoko Ono’s Peace Project, which won first prize and a $5000 award. She spent all of that money on music lessons and started recording her own music in the studio at age 12.

Over the past several years, she has recorded more than 100 original songs. Since June 2020, she has released a dozen songs on YouTube and worldwide music platforms, working with top producers on three continents, including a number of multi-Grammy winners and nominees, including Liam Nolan (Adele), Simon Gibson (Beatles, Paul McCartney), Michael Brauer (Coldplay, ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

John Mayer), Greg Calbi (Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga), Joe Laporta (Shawn Mendez, Lizzo), Brent Kolatalo (Kendrick Lamar, Eminem), and Stuart Hawkes (Amy Winehouse). Kelsie has spent literally thousands of hours in the music studio over the past ten years, and currently spends at least two days per week recording new original material.

Her music has received worldwide radio play and was in the top 20 on the radio charts in Ukraine for three months prior to the war. She is UkrainianAmerican and is very outspoken in her support of Ukraine. In August 2023, she traveled to Ukraine where she engaged in humanitarian work and filmed three music videos about the effects of the war on Ukrainians. The filming occurred under martial law with air raid sirens blaring and attack drones and missiles being shot down overhead. She is the first artist to be granted permission to film in the locations of the worst atrocities in Bucha and Irpin.

The first video, “Armageddon,” was released in September to rave reviews and has garnered close to a million views, plays, and streams. She received a commendation from the Armed Forces and a gift from an aide to President Zelensky for her support of Ukraine. Her second video, “Another Chance To Live Again” was released on October 16 th and is already going viral.

You recently went to Ukraine to share support

for your homeland. Matter of fact you were the only artist who has been given access to film in the locations of the worst atrocities around Kyiv. Why was it so important to you to not only inform people globally about Ukraine, but also be there physically?

What are your memories of Kyiv before the war? Yes, my mother is from Ukraine, and I spent all my childhood summers there, so it is like my second home. I love the people and the country. I used to walk with friends and family in her small village surrounded by miles of sunflower fields, and visit the Azov and Black Seas to fish, camp, and swim. Everyone was so gracious and friendly. The war actually started in 2014 when Russia attacked Donbas and seized Crimea, so I knew people who were injured and living in occupied areas. But then the big war started in February of 2022, and it was really awful. Friends and family fled the war zones, and my family in the United States sponsored more than

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

a dozen refugees to come here and live with us. In fact, we still have refugees living with us and with my grandmother here. At the beginning of the war, I wanted to go to Ukraine and do whatever I could to help, but it was just too dangerous, so I waited until July 2023, when I traveled there with my dad to engage in humanitarian work and film three music videos about the war. It was quite an experience. It took us three days to get to Kyiv because there are no air flights to the country and the entire country is under martial law with a 10 pm curfew.

While there, I visited a shelter for animals displaced or injured in the war. I went to the largest military hospital and met with injured soldiers. I met with refugees who lined up daily for food from local restaurants, and I talked with many victims of the war, some who lost their loved ones and others who lost their homes. I felt a powerful need to go to Ukraine in person so I could see the horrors with my own eyes and then use my music and global platform to tell the stories of what I saw to the world.

And that’s why it was important for me to film in the locations where the worst atrocities occurred in the Kyiv suburbs of Buch and Irpin. These places are under full military control with checkpoints going in and out. So, we had to get permission to film there and to use drones which are strictly prohibited while the war is raging. Air raid sirens wailed every single day I was there, and attack drones and missiles were shot down overhead, shaking the windows and even the ground. Oddly though, I felt safe because we were always under the direct protection of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

That said, the experience of filming in places and homes where families and children died was almost too much to bear. I filmed in homes where I witnessed burned and melted children’s toys, broken plates from an interrupted dinner, singed photos of lost families, and mangled bicycles. I heard stories from women whose husbands were rounded up by Russian soldiers, tortured, shot, and left on the street or buried in shallow graves. And after that, the soldiers raped the women and children leaving them with horrendous grief and memories.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

What impacted you the most? Despite all the suffering and horrors of the war, the thing that struck me most was the resilience and determination of the Ukrainian people. They all share a burning faith in their country, their Armed Forces, and their President. They believe in victory and have a hopeful view of the future in the European community as part of NATO.

Also, they are all so incredibly grateful for America’s support. In fact, I met with an aide to President Zelensky who personally thanked me and gave me a blue blanket embossed with the yellow outline of Ukraine as a gesture of appreciation. I filmed in several places where the Russians massacred civilians trying to flee bombings. There is a bridge in Irpin where thousands of people were fleeing in their vehicles when they were slaughtered in masse by missiles, many burned alive. So the Ukrainian government decided to take all those vehicles and place them in a

huge parking lot so people will remember the terror caused by the enemy. That is called the “car cemetery” and my film crew chose to spend hours there filming me among the cars, including with drones. This is very powerful footage that ended up in my “Armageddon” video. After the Russians attacked the bridge, the Ukrainian army blew it up so the enemy could not drive tanks and artillery across it. At the beginning of the big war, I released a video called “We Are Ukrainian” telling the world about the wonders and greatness of Ukraine, and how Russian terrorists shattered the

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

peace and lives of every Ukrainian. And I said that every civilized person on earth is Ukrainian in heart because they want to live in peace, free from the atrocities of barbarians.

What do people usually not know about you? I am a huge animal lover. My mom works at a vet clinic, and we have a dozen animals, including a potbellied pig named Ozzie, a rabbit, chinchilla, five dogs, and four cats. It is a big job and responsibility taking care of them, but it is worth it. Almost all of our animals have come from shelters.

I believe that everyone has their own uniqueness. However, I am an American-Ukrainian pop artist which is unique, and I combine activism with music. Many musicians are afraid to take a stand, at least publicly because they don’t want to alienate any potential fans. But I want to use my music to change the world, and that can’t be done if I hide the way I feel. I have found that my activism has actually attracted new fans and greater respect. Also, I am the real deal. What you see is what you get. I work incredibly hard and am not afraid to experiment with new ideas with my music. Also, I launched my own foundation to help Ukraine. President Zelensky asked everyone at the Grammys to support Ukraine. But while most musicians in the world cannot go to Ukraine, they can help Ukraine by donating to my foundation.

What are your upcoming major events Unforgettable Moments or products/services that you want to promote/inform?

All of my social media can be found simply using my full name, Kelsie Kimberlin. Here is a list:

I am going to be releasing a lot more music in 2024 and that might mean releasing a double album of 30 or 40 songs. I will also release two videos I filmed recently in Colombia that have a Latin flavor. One of the videos was filmed in the rainforest where I visited an Indigenous tribe. My dream for 2024 would be to lead a delegation of powerful female Grammy winners to Ukraine— Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce’, Rihanna, and Adele to fulfill President Zelensky’s request and show the world that these strong women have Ukraine’s back.

NIK:11 you have been a force to be reckoned with globally. For those who may not know your eclectic, tech-house music, when did your passion for music begin?

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

I have been passionate about both music and the entertainment business for as long as I can remember. I’ve been in this business since I was a teenager, and music and entertainment have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve been writing lyrics and poetry since I was a little girl. As a child, I can remember swinging on the swing set in my backyard for hours alone, just humming, producing melodies in my head, writing, and singing. Music was my escape; it helped me feel like I was a part of something unique and so much bigger than my reality.

Your track "KICKBACK" hit the Billboard Chart. The "KICKBACK" mixes climbed up the Billboard Chart to #19 and stayed on the Dance Chart for 11 weeks. Why is this single resonating with fans?

Hitting the Billboard charts was something I've been dreaming about all my life. My friend Brad Lebeau Facetimed me when my track "Kickback" hit the Billboard chart for the first time. I literally started crying and fell to my knees; I was so grateful that all of my passion and hard work for my music paid off. My first Billboard charting single, "Kickback," is a great dance track. I think fans also enjoyed the music video I created for "Kickback." The music video was about unity within all races, shapes, and sizes, coming together as one; everyone in the music video is dancing and having a great time. I filmed the music video in Las Vegas. I didn't know anyone in Las Vegas when I wrote, produced, and cast the music video. I placed an ad on FB and said, "Come as you are! Your image, race, age, or weight doesn't matter." I really wanted everyone to feel special, unique, and, most of all, loved. Come as you are because you matter to me and are loved for who you truly are.

In the creative world of social media and AI takeover, people need to stop trying to fit in or try to

become something they are not.

WE all need to get back to the basics: God, good energy, unity, and love. Just Be! Just Be Amazing YOU!

Tell us about your recent collaboration with Grammy-nominated producer Chico Bennett with your mesmerizing single “Pillow Talk.“ What led you to this project? I met Chico Bennett in LA through a promoter friend of mine, Jason Dauman. Jason loved my brand, energy, and voice, but he knew I was capable of creating so much more vocally.

Chico and I met in his LA studio—the energy was magical, and we instantly connected. Chico told me the legendary Prince gave him his first break in the music industry at the age of 19. Prince had a gift for spotting talent, and I knew I was in good hands when Chico told me how long he had worked with Prince. Chico and I wrote, produced, and recreated a

new version of "Pillow Talk" within 24 hours. However, the final version of "Pillow Talk" we created together took months to master. I'm an extreme perfectionist when working on final mixes with other producers, which I'm sure can be annoying to others I collaborate with.

“Pillow Talk” has received international attention described by many as an early 2000’s dance floor anthem reminiscent of earlier Lady Gaga. Tell us about this single and your creative process. During the creative process, I always try to follow my heart and I do not follow trends to fit in within the music industry. I believe that by having a unique sound, style, and brand, others will eventually find you, enjoy your art, and keep following. The question I receive the most from others is, What type of music do you create? I never know how to answer that question honestly because I don't really know, so I just say dance music, music that makes you feel something, music that makes you feel alive.

Sylvia Robinson released the original version of "Pillow Talk" in the 1970s. What do you admire the most about Sylvia Robinson? Sylvia Robinson is the driving force behind hip hop music after discovering the Sugar Hill Gang and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. What I admire most about her is that she was a visionary. She was a bold, independent, strong woman—she believed in herself, her music, and she wasn't afraid to take chances.

Sylvia Robinson released the original version of "Pillow Talk" in the 1970s. The labels or music industry didn't want to release the track because the people within the music industry said the track was too sexual. When Sylvia released the track independently, "PIllow Talk" hit the R&B Billboard charts within weeks.

Who are some of your musical influences? I appreciate all music, but

mostly because I know all the work and talent that goes with creating and releasing music. I do enjoy music that is more on the aggressive side. This aggressiveness is mostly heard on my track release, "SE7EN".

What would people be surprised to know about you? As an indie artist with no support or guidance, I had to go through many negative experiences and unfortunate situations. I know I had to go through all of these experiences to educate and guide other indie artists. One of my missions is to be a positive force in helping other indie artists succeed within the music industry. Success doesn't come easily in any business, but with heart, undeniable passion, and constant persistence for the music created, failure is not an option.

Can you share your upcoming tours and collaborations? I'm extremely excited about my upcoming collaborations in 2024.

RO MAN : REC O RD I N G ART I S T, P ERF O RMER, SONG WRITER, and PRODUCER By Jules Lavallee

Roman Wadsworth is a Los Angeles native that has been singing and acting since he was discovered at the age of seven. With his rich experience as a backup singer for major R&B and Dance artists, as well as writing his own music and starring in his own show on the famed sunset strip as well as abroad in Barcelona Spain. Roman’s new music continues to make a huge impact on the Dance Music scene. His songs are cathartic, and emotional. Combined with Romans Powerful 4 octave range, his songs are designed to make you get on the floor and dance your troubles away, at least for that moment.

Roman’s 1st single on the So Fierce Music Label, and with Co Producer Velvet code, “Price to Pay” hit #1 for Global digital and radio airplay. As well as peaking at #4 on the important House of Pride top 30. And spent more than 7 months on that chart. Romans current single “Crazy” reached #1 on the House of Pride top 30. And is still climbing the Global digital radio airplay at #3, Masspool club charts at #3, Kings of Spins DJ rated chart at #1. And #2 on the Starfleet music chart. A

favorite of DJ’s all over the world. “Crazy” Tony Moran Anthem remix was the most talked about song at White Party Palm Springs 2023. You will always hear Roman’s influence from the R&B and Hip-Hop genre and of course the great dance divas of the 90s and early 2000s! It’s a Dance Music renaissance! And Roman brings a strong point of view and even stronger voice to the movement! Peace, Love, and Dance Music.

When did your passion for entertainment begin? My passion for the entertainment industry started very early. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and especially in the early 80s everyone was looking for the next child sensation. I did a talent show at age 7. Any by the next day. I had an agent, a manager, an Operatic vocal coach, and an acting coach! I knew exactly what I wanted to be!!

Your new music is hot on the music scene with international attention. What makes your music resonate in a carthic and emotional way to your fans? You never know if people are going to resonate with your art. I knew I wrote what I felt, and I liked it. But I think the raw honesty of the lyrics and the emotion really struck a chord with people all over the world.

What is important to you when writing a song? When I’m writing a song it’s important that I am able to convey my story through the lyrics and vocal delivery in a way that is melodic, interesting, and infectious.

Your 1st single on the So Fierce Music Label, with Co-Producer Velvet code, “Price to Pay” hit #1 for Global digital and radio airplay. What was your inspiration for this song? When I wrote my first single Price To Pay, I was coming from a place where I was living in the space and time that I felt as though I was having everything taken away from me. It was as if I was paying the toll for the choices, I made by

marrying the individual that I did. There is a line in the song that says, “a repossession of the heart” and the moment I write the song. I felt like my heart was being repossessed.

Who are your musical influences? My musical influences are in no particular order. Luther Vandross, George Michael, Kristine W, Mariah Carey, Gladys Knight, Bernadette Bascome, Stevie Wonder, Jamiroquai, Sam Sparrow, Lalah Hathaway, Sade,Prince.

Your current single “Crazy” reached #1 on the House of Pride top 30. Take us through the creative process for this song. Crazy deals with the darkest part of where I was emotionally for the last year of my marriage. The confusion, the depression, the feeling like I was going crazy. I got the track from the track producer, Velvet Code. And wrote the pre choose right away. “I woke up this afternoon. Maybe a little too soon. Cause I’m still feeling ill. Time to take another pill. It’s gots me feelin high. Gonna spread my wings

tonight. Like MC (Mariah Carey) Butterfly. Stand and say bye bye!

“All Mine” finishes out your trilogy of hits. It details the emotional rollercoaster of your fiveyear marriage and subsequent divorce. It is an upbeat song. Was this single therapeutic for you? After the Cathartic journey of Price to Pay and Crazy. I felt differently. I felt more balanced, more honest, and ready to take this time and success and own it! Enjoy it! With no apologies or regret.

The Vincent sisters provide the background vocals on “All Mine.” What did you enjoy the most working with them? OK…. I love this question. I love producing. I especially love producing vocals for a song I wrote. To be able to have talented artists like Pam and Joyce Vincent in the studio is a gift beyond measure! Myrna Brian says, sing this run and now do it in 5-part harmony. And blam it’s done. To perfection!!

They are lovely women who happen to be legends. Pam sang with Areatha Franklin for over 20 years. And Joyce was one half of Dawn, of Tony Orlando and Dawn. They have sung with me before on another track and God willing, they will sing with me again.

What would people be surprised to know about you? People might be surprised to know that I was a National Champion Equestrian Horse Rider. I even got to ride, as an exhibit in the 1984 Equestrian Olympics in LA with the Foxfield Drill team.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

What’s Next? I am excited about what’s next. I am gonna be working with incredible producers of not only dance music but some more pop / R&B / jazz. But those will always be remixed for the clubs. Also, a few collaborations with incredible artists. Next year, an international tour of the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal. And hopefully a lot more here in the USA. It’s been an incredible ride so far. And it’s only the beginning.

“ O ve r f lowin g Love ” - th e N e we s t Sin g le fr om A r tis t, Melissa Strongin! By Jules Lavallee

Please share your background. I was born and raised in Los Angeles. My parents are both African American, I went to high school in the San Fernando Valley, where I was on the drill team. I also played softball.

Childhood to Adulthood~ How was your transition from childhood to adulthood

and what are the bad and good things you remember? Unfortunately, my dad left me when I was four years old. And my mother was very abusive to me because she was on government assistance, at times we had to eat soup made from ketchup made from hot water.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

On Sundays after church service, I would eat Sunday’s dinner at my aunt's house. And she loved to cook. My whole family discouraged me from singing. As I became a teenager, I was teased in school because I had a terrible case of acne. And I was bullied.

Fortunately, I developed a great group of friends. However, I ran away from home, dropped out of college, and began to live a wild life. Like my mother before me, I got pregnant out of wedlock, and I Had to struggle, I was alone, during this time. I did not have the support from my family or my child’s father early on to take care of my baby. I can remember walking in the dark streets, standing in the rain early in the morning at the bus stop. I was taking my baby to the daycare so I can get to my job. My son and I slept on the floor in my mother’s apartment, where she continued to berate us. By the Grace of God, I met my future husband. Eventually we got married. We've been happily married for twelve years.

Struggle -What hardships have you gone through in life? I have struggled with dyslexia since I was a little girl, and during the past ten years I had to undergo two surgeries.

What do people usually not know about you? People don’t know that I’m talented, I love creating videos or designing

garments for my boutique. But my first love is music. I love to sing worship songs.

What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life? My singing is very unique… no one is going to share the same voice as me. I have an ethereal, operatic voice unlike most African American female singers. In life I’m walking in my purpose and my calling nobody can take that away from me.

What are your upcoming major events~ unforgettable moments or products \services that you want to promote/inform? Firstly, my online faithbased boutique, crownedbygrace.boutique Currently my single “Overflowing Love” is streaming on all platforms, and so far, it has gotten many plays on Spotify… and 2,146 monthly listeners and counting. Verse: Lord, your love is like a river It’s washing over me Flowing freely, so pure and true. My heart is full because of you.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

Chorus: Your love’s amazing, Lord Fills me up to overflow Jesus, I’m so grateful My love for you will grow.

What expert advice would you like to give? Don’t give up on what you are called to do, there will be many obstacles trying to take you off course. But if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will come Matthew 17:20 Faith that moves mountains believes that “Nothing is impossible with God” Luke 1:37

All you need is faith that moves mountains if you believe that God is all powerful and can accomplish what is humanly impossible. https://www.instagram.co m/official_melitzzha/?hl=e n https://www.tiktok.com/@ officialmelissastrongin linkpop.com/melissastrongin

Country Music Sin ger/ Son gwrit er Sen sat ion Dian ñ a R eleases Ch rist mas Hit s By Jules Lavallee

Dianña (pronounced Deeon-ya) has found her true calling as a traditional country music singer/songwriter after having written, recorded, and performed with many well-known R&B, rap, rock, pop, gospel, alternative, and country artists from Amy Grant to Snoop Dogg. Dianña’s debut Country single and music video “Andale Yeehaw” was released in late 2018. She released two more original light-hearted singles in 2019, “Rubberneck”, about men’s tendencies when they see a pretty girl, and “You Got Some Nerve”, about online dating. In 2020, she released the original country version of her novelty song “Calm Down Karen”, which was played over 50 million times on TikTok. The success of the country version led her to release a POP version in 2021 “Calm Down Karen Can I Speak to a Manger remix”, which reached #48 on the BDS/Billboard Top 40 POP Indicator chart.

Dianña’s release of “Gonna Take a Real Strong Man” in early 2022 was the first of several new songs she was inspired to write after wading through an old storage locker full of long-suppressed, often painful memories. It is a poignant look back at some of the events that have shaped her life, and the demons she still deals with today. It enjoyed a four+ month run on secondary country radio.

“Hands,” released in Summer 2022, became Dianña’s first crossover hit as it spent seven weeks on the Adult Contemporary charts inside the Top 20, where she was the #1 independent artist for five of those weeks. It also played on over three dozen Country radio stations. “Missing You Underneath the Mistletoe,” her holiday 2022 release, became Dianña’s second consecutive Top 20 hit on the Adult Contemporary ©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

Charts, reaching a high of #14. Her vocals channeled her inner Karen Carpenter whose vocal techniques she studied for a tribute show she performed in Las Vegas for several years. She also released a retrostyle music video for the song on YouTube.

In 2023, Dianña has already released a pair of songs. “A Street Called Evergreen,” an uplifting song in the classic country style that is becoming her trademark, in which she recollects about her earliest musical influences and songwriting experiences as a child. Then “Girl With No Last Name,” which lays bare her still raw emotions about the last names that have been forced upon her and why she hates all of them. Both songs were recorded in Nashville and feature classic country instrumentals in addition to Dianña’s smooth country vocals.

Dianña’s musical passions also extend to philanthropic efforts. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness, she wrote and performed her original songs ``Stand Up & Live Strong” and “I Know I’m Beautiful” at several Susan G. Komen Race for the Cures and Breast Cancer Award Ceremonies.

She has also worked for many children’s charities including Children Uniting Nations, Vote NOH8, and Toys 4 Tots.

When did you find your true calling as a traditional country music singer/songwriter? I started my music career in Gospel Music when I was 13-years-old. I loved the harmonies and stories in the songs. I went on to all different music genres such as Rock, R&B, Hip Hop and Pop. I found myself empty in the lyrics. I really wanted to get back into the story telling in my music, which led me to Country music. I always say, “If you start in Gospel, you’ll end in Country.” I am now writing my life stories and am where I need to be.

Your vocals are reminiscent of Karen Carpenter.

How has Karen Carpenter influenced your music? What do you admire most about her? Karen Carpenter has always been my go-to vocalist. Her vocal control was so amazing to me. She had so many special touches and emotions in her singing that I admire. I was compared to her a lot in the Acapella Choir when my teacher let me sing a solo of her song. (I Won’t Last a Day Without You) I wrote a song last year called Missing You Underneath the Mistletoe in a Karen Carpenter style. The song is out for its 2nd year with a music video on YouTube that won the New York Film Festival.

Your release of "Missing You Underneath the Mistletoe" has made a big splash in its first week of this year to Adult Contemporary and Country radio. Why will this song resonate with the hearts and minds this holiday? Missing You Underneath the Mistletoe is such a timeless song that, I predict, will last for years to come. It is the perfect song for those who are missing a special someone during the holidays and are in anticipation of their return.

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

The Award-Winning video is such a bonus touch on the song because it shows you the beautiful surprise ending that I wanted to end with. My favorite Christmas song, Merry Christmas Darling, is definitely the timeless feeling I hope my song will resemble.

"Missing You Underneath the Mistletoe" was produced by Grammy-nominated producer/mixer Mark Needham (Imagine Dragons, Dolly Parton, Chris Isaak). How did you connect for this project? When I met one of Dolly Parton's producers, Mark Needham, for my Country music, I had told him that I also wrote a Christmas Song. He asked me to sing it in a scratch recording and then shared it with Kent Wells who produced Dolly's Christmas album. I received the phone call that he, Kent wanted to Produce my song and loved it. Not only was Missing You Underneath the Mistletoe produced by 2 of Dollys producers, but Kent Wells also recorded some harmony vocals in the song.

What would people be surprised to know about you? What people would be surprised to know about me is that I am widowed and have been through more than an average person should have to go through. I wouldn't change anything about my past because I wouldn't have anything to write about. I am a giving person and love to help with many Charities such as Breast Cancer Awareness, Down Syndrome Camp, Christmas program for the Disabled and so many more.

Your second song is rocking the charts right now. "You Don't Know Me", was released in mid-October, has been steadily rising and just cracked the Top 100 on the Music Row Country charts. What is special about this song? “You Don't Know Me” is personal to me. Actually, every song I write is something I have been through in my lifetime. It’s a song about cheating, fitting for a Country Song. Imagine your boyfriend's phone going off in the middle of the night and you read text messages saying, I Love You, Goodnight, I miss you.

Your reaction would be, who is this woman? Come to find out it's his wife and you are the side piece. I think the song is relatable to many women who wonder if their man is cheating.

What inspired your song, “A Street Called Evergreen?”

My song, “A Street Called Evergreen” was written about how music was such a part of my life growing up. It was the only house with a lot of land. A fwy in the front and a train in the back. 'Lots of fruit trees and a chicken pen.’ My parents were gone a lot and left us kids alone to be ‘wild n free.’ It’s a song that was supposed to have a different storyline about what happened in that house until I drove by it years later to find that it was torn down to dirt. I then felt a freedom that is now gone and decided to write a happier fun song of ‘how I learned to be me.’

Your single, “Girl With

©Red Silk Carpet™ December 2023

No Last Name,” shows raw emotions. What do you want people to know about this song? My single, “Girl With No Last Name” is very emotional for me. Every one of my Last Names has a traumatic meaning to it. If you listen to the song, you will hear what each name given to me is not what anyone should be proud of to keep that name. We all change our last names either through adoption, marriage etc. It’s sometimes a painful experience when you have a last name that you don't want. It’s more common than you think. That is why I like to be called DIANÑA with no ‘Last Name.’ In the song I say, ‘They should pay for her therapy,’ but really my therapy is songwriting and getting my songs out for the world to hear and for me to heal.

What’s next for you? I am currently recording more songs and putting together an album. I would love to start performing again in 2024. I Love to sing Live. It is such a wonderful experience to meet my fans and hope that my music encourages people. Stay tuned! www.diannacountry.com
