The California Republican Party (CAGOP) voted unanimously on December 9, 2023, to endorse Hollywood talent manager, lawyer, and film producer, Larry Thompson, in his 2024 run for U.S. Congress in California's 32nd District. The very valuable CAGOP endorsement came after the Los Angeles County Republican Party (LAGOP) endorsed Thompson and recommended the endorsement to the state party due to Thompson having received a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote at its LAGOP Endorsement Meeting on December 4, 2023. http://www.LarryThompsonFor Congress.com

The Primary Election will be on March 5, 2024. Early voting starts February 5, 2024. The two candidates that receive the most votes in the Primary Election will advance to the General Election, which will be on November 5, 2024.

California Elections have the Top-Two Candidates Open Election System, which means all registered voters, regardless of political affiliation, may vote for any candidate, regardless of political affiliation.

So, what is it about Thompson that is giving such new hope and excitement to the California GOP, and is the biggest news since Kevin McCarthy announced that he is resigning? Red Silk Carpet spoke with Larry Thompson about his vision for America.

Why are you running for congress?

I am running for Congress to awaken, organize, and lead the silenced, conservative

Republican and dissatisfied Democratic voters. No longer should they feel alone,confused, defeated, and scared. I offer them an opportunity to regain their courage, stand up, rethink their long-held beliefs, and join me and those who share their values and vision of our country. I want everyone to stop, think, and simply use Common Sense with Common Civility to find Common Ground to solve our Common Issues. Let's start a fresh, bipartisan conversation to finally end the fighting, regain our ‘sanity,’ and get something done.

I'm the ‘Sanity Man.’ I am a "giver" by nature, and as either a lawyer, talent manager, film producer, brother, husband, or father, I have been helping others for over 50 years to become the very best they can be.

I am truly experienced in helping others. I now want to serve my neighbors in California's 32nd district. The Entertainment business has always been my focus and the idea of politics kept calling. Based on what is going on in the world right now, I knew this was the time for me to offer my experience and vision.

Because there are few term limits on political offices, politicians are allowed to stay in office for too long. Once they drink the Washington Kool-Aid they lose their common sense, loyalty to their constituents, and sanity. They are caught up in the self-serving weeds and what is good only for their party.

When voters say the world has gone "crazy," I agree. I have not drunk the Kool-Aid. I am sane...I am the "Sanity Man."

Thompson was born, raised, and educated in Mississippi.

After finishing law school at

the University of Mississippi in 1968, he drove three days to the corner of Hollywood and Vine to start his dream career in show business. Also, from 1968 to 1974, Thompson served in the United States Army Reserve's Judge Advocate General Corp, mostly in Torrance, California.

Thompson lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Kelly, and their daughter, Taylor, and son, Trevor.
