Message from the Ambassador of Mexico in Belize, Martha Zamarripa Rivas It is an honor for me to represent my country as the first female Ambassador of Mexico to Belize and the 11 Representant of Mexico in the country.

Our shared history began with a new era in 1981, when we established diplomatic relations and continues to this day with the strengthening of our friendship through cultural, historical, economic exchange and with the people who make it possible: our Belizean and Mexican brothers and sisters. We hope to bring you relevant topics of interest from our colorful Mexico to this beautiful Caribbean country through this page.

We will broadcast relevant topics and events from the Embassy, and of course, the Mexican Cultural Institute.

Presentation of Letters of Credentials from Amb. Martha Zamarripa to the Governor-General, Sir. Colville Young and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Eatmon Courtney.

On November 30th, the Ambassador of Mexico to Belize, Martha Zamarripa, presented the Letter of Credence that accredits her to this country as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to Belize to Governor-General, Sir Colville Young, and a copy of her Letter to Hon. Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, and Immigration. So glad to have the opportunity to meet Hon. Courtenay and his staff Ambassador Zamarripa thanked the hospitality and attention of the staff.

Visit to the Consular Section and Mexican Cultural Institute in Belize City.

On November 15th, Amb. Zamarripa visited the Mexican Cultural Institute and the Consular Section in Belize City.

Day of the Dead The Embassy of Mexico and the Cultural Institute of Mexico in Belize held the traditional Day of the Dead altars at both venues. This year, we dedicated the offerings to the outstanding curator Patricia Mendoza, founder of the Image Center and to Dr. Mario Molina, who was a Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry back in 1995, and of course, with much affection and respect to all those who died from COVID19 in Mexico and Belize.

27th Anniversary of the Mexican Cultural Institute We celebrated the 27 years of the Cultural Institute of Mexico on November 17.

Since its inauguration in 1993, the ICM has remained the benchmark space for promoting and disseminating the cultural manifestations of Mexico and Belize. The Mexican architect Teodoro Gonzรกlez de Leรณn built the ICM headquarters and the facilities of the Mexican Embassy in Belmopan.

In recent years, ICM-Belize has established itself as one of the most prestigious institutions in the country with exhibitions of plastic, visual, performing, and cinematographic arts. What has been your favorite event?

Garifuna Settlement Day Commemoration On November 19, we commemorated the GarĂ­funa Settlement Day commemorated in Belize.

Everyone could see the Garinagu flag waving in his honor at the Mexican Cultural Institute

Commemoration of the Mexican Revolution During November, we commemorated the 110th Anniversary of the Beginning of the Mexican Revolution with multimedia resources.

Therefore, this time we recommend reading "The Revolution of Women in Mexico."

Visit to the Belize-Guatemala Adjacency Zone On December 3, the Office in the Adjacency Zone of the Organization of American States received the Ambassador of Mexico in Belize and her team with great hospitality.

The Adjacency Zone is an imaginary line between two countries, in this case, Belize and Guatemala. Its purpose is to promote peace. One of the Belize-Guatemala Adjacency Zone office projects is to bring potable water to communities that do not have this vital resource.

We also had the opportunity to learn about our Mexican compatriots' work, Dr. Juan Carlos Amador and Mtro. Sergio Lopez.

#OrangeTheWorld The Mexican Embassy reaffirms its commitment to eradicate violence against women and girls.

On November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and in adhesion of the Foreign Ministry of Mexico to the HeForShe campaign, and the adoption of the Feminist Foreign Policy of the government of Mexico, staff of this Representation reiterated their commitment to gender equality and the fight against all types of violence against women.
