Compass calls on experts and professionals to visit the classrooms and share their expertise and entrepreneurial endeavors. The curriculum challenges students to learn content with an added component of transferring these skills to real-life situations. Public speaking, financial literacy, and resilience are all embedded in lessons.

Cross-curricular learning sparks excitement. Compass students ask the Why? What? and How? Through open-ended projects, problem-solving, and use of the Socratic method, students have the agency to discover and explore.
Course material is threaded across all subjects. For example, a unit on an ancient civilization will immerse students in the lessons through an in-depth exploration of the time period, scientific innovations, literature, and history.
SPANISH DAILY
Students are immersed in Spanish daily, learning to read, write, and speak with fluency. Throughout their tenure at Compass, students study all 21 Spanish-speaking countries. By learning culture and history in tandem with language, Compass is shaping global communicators and world leaders.

MINDFULNESS is a blend of the study of brain health, the practice of self-awareness, and the art of yoga. Students gain the necessary tools to build resilience, empathy, and focus.
CHESS is an exciting way for students to engage in friendly competition, while learning strategic thinking, skills, and sportsmanship.
SIGNATURE PROGRAM
FARM-TO-TABLE propels students to be a part of the food process every step of the way, from harvesting crops, composting, caring for chickens, to exploring behind the scenes of restaurant kitchens. This program promotes nutritious eating and develops an appreciation for diverse cuisine.
ART helps deepen the understanding of historical context, while inspiring students to explore their creativity and cultivate an appreciation for artistic expression.
ROBOTICS AND TECHNOLOGY are thoughtfully introduced through age-appropriate activities designed to create responsible digital citizens and innovative learners.
Outdoor Spaces for Learning
Learning in nature to enhance student engagement and inspire wonder.
The outdoors is an extension of the classroom. The creek that runs behind the campus is fondly referred to as a ‘living lab,’ where students can study in nature. Research shows that children who spend meaningful time outdoors develop stronger focus, improved attention, and have a greater sense of kindness and citizenship.

Hosting a wide variety of experiences to connect with families and the expansive Compass Community.
Entrepreneurship and financial literacy is woven into our math, science, and Farmto-Table classrooms, culminating in The Compass in Bloom FARMER’S MARKET .
Compass presents FIRESIDE CHATS to the public with panels encompassing the core values of the school – Community, Family, Leadership, Resilience, and Purpose. On Campus, the students spearhead Gratitude Gatherings and host family events, like the international fair. Off-site, they participate in local SPORTS leagues.
