Torrence Casey. An entrepreneur, husband, father, and an overall family man who has dedicated most of his life to perfecting his craft of barbering. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in Mariana, Arkansas before moving to Chicago, Illinois at a young age. In his teens, he attended Englewood High School where he saw someone walk past him in a hallway with the word “Nike” carved into their hair along with the logo. He was amazed at what he saw and in that moment his curiosity for barbering began. He purchased a pair of clippers with the determination to recreate what he had seen, but little did he know it would be the beginning of his thirty-two-year career. After graduating high school, Torrence attended the McCoy’s Barber College on the South side of Chicago where he continued to perfect his craft. His clientele grew and he became known for his excellent skills. He began to showcase his skills in numerous hair shows and competitions where he won a second place trophy, and a first place cash prize. He had worked in several salons and barbershops in Chicago until moving to Green Bay in 2011. In 2012, he began cutting hair at Executive Cuts and later that year, he moved to another barbershop called Cutting Edge where he worked before moving to Edge Barbershop in 2016. Shortly after, he became the sole owner and continued to provide top of the line services.

At Edge Barbershop, Torrence has created a welcoming atmosphere by providing a comfortable place for people to be themselves. As the owner, he takes the time to build long lasting relationships with his customers and employees because he believes in providing them with a positive and exclusive experience. He also strives to extend a helping hand to the community in any way he can. Torrence believes it is his due diligence to give back to the community and influence the younger generation. In 2018, he partnered with Washington Middle School where they collaborated on a program dedicated to elevating the minds of adolescents through reading. Aside from that, he also hosts back to school giveaways every summer where children are given free haircuts and backpacks with school supplies provided inside which he has plans to resume this coming summer.
