skills to the next level as we practice improv and scene work designed for an older actor. Learn how to break a scene down, nail a comedic moment and perform a long monologue. On Friday, you will showcase your talents on the stage! Mrs. Alissa Rowan

Advanced Robotics (LEGO® Mindstorms Ignite student

engagement and energize learning through real-life problem solving with LEGO® MINDSTORMS® hands-on, minds-on approach! Students work in pairs and build a variety of robots.

Then they add sensors and learn how to program the robots using LEGO Mindstorms software.

Advantage Tennis/PeeWee Pickleball Each week campers will

learn the strokes and techniques of tennis and pickleball. Filled with fun games, obstacle courses, and various activities that help develop hand, foot, and eye coordination. We encourage campers of all levels for as many weeks as they would like and cater camp to fit all levels.

start on band! Learn basics of getting your instrument together, correct intonation and enjoy beginning songs!

Explore the history of band along with all the genres that incorporate band instruments. Beginning instruments for this camp include: Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba and Percussion. No experience required. Instrument is required. Ms. Natalie Westerholt

experience from at least one year in band and would love to have band over the summer? Come join band camp for a fun musical experience!

You will explore new notes and concepts on your instrument, learn fun songs and have a great time with music history lessons! Bracelet Bonanza This mini camp

class is perfect for athletes who want to learn the fundamentals of cheer and tumbling. This camp will teach cheer jumps, cheer motions, stunt safety, cheers, and routine building as well as introduce basic tumbling: forward/ backward rolls, front/back walkovers, handstands, cartwheels, round-offs. We focus on sportsmanship and teamwork, as well as building balance, flexibility, and strength. Cheerleading is an excellent sport for cultivating confidence and and coordination. See you there!

PLAY CAMP

June 1-5, June 8-12, June 15-19, June 22-26, July 27-31 | Full-day $380/week | Half-day $195/week Children ages 3, 4 and 5 will build, splash, play, create and dance their way through five one-week sessions of Summer Play Camp. Campers will delight in daily indoor and outdoor activities – including water and sand play! Experienced early childhood teachers and staff from Community School will direcct the camp. Campers must have had their third birthday by July 1, 2020, and be potty-trained. Full-day campers should bring a non-refrigerated nut-free lunch. Please note that campers may be dropped off as late as 9:00 a.m. or picked up as early as 3:00 p.m.

FULL-DAY Camp runs from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. daily; a.m. & p.m. snacks are provided. $380 per week

June 22 – 26, 9am – 3pm (grades 1-4, $310.00 per camper) Scenes and Songs from 101 Dalmatians, Kids: Sing, Dance and act in the timeless Disney classic animated tale of kidnapping villains and courageous puppies. Campers will perform in this “fur-tastic” musical adventure culminating in a mini performance the last day of camp for family and friends.

July 6 – 17, 9am – 3pm (grades 5-8, $620.00 per camper) Annie, JR: Join us for two fun filled weeks of a musical theatre camp featuring everyone’s favorite little redhead, Annie! Campers will sing, dance and act in this fun loving musical adventure. Help Annie and the orphans of Miss Hannigan’s Orphanage find a new home and family with billionaire Oliver Warbucks. With plenty of parts to go around, including featured roles as well as ensemble parts for orphans, servants, tourists, and a loveable mutt named Sandy, campers will learn valuable techniques in voice, dance, acting and auditioning in a Musical Theatre Workshop of Annie, JR!

9am – 12pm Minecraft Bricks (grades 1-4) - Enjoy a week of building Minecraft characters with LEGO® bricks, amateur robotic LEGO® technic builds. No game experience necessary. Fight the summer slump with FUNdamentals. Customized for each age group, this will get your child back in the swing before school starts! All ages will experience sports, cooking, art, and recess, as well as differentiated academics—all taught by experienced Community School faculty and staff.

Camp runs from 9:00 - 3:00 daily. One week of camp costs $340 or sign up for both at $620.

JK & SK - Get ready. Get set. It’s time for school! Younger students will get familiar with school routines before the first day of school.

By using favorite children’s books, thematic activities will support school readiness skills such as listening, following directions, and organization, as well as math, reading, and writing.

1st & 2nd - Brush up on valuable skills and learn the importance of school routines. Listening to stories and reading in small groups will increase comprehension and reading fluency. Fun number games focusing on number sense and computation will help review, reinforce and develop math skills.

3rd & 4th - Third and fourth graders will develop strong critical thinking skills while reading fiction and non-fiction pieces, focusing on determining the main idea, using context clues to develop vocabulary, and summarizing the key concepts of the text. In math, through interactive lessons and games, campers will focus on the concepts of number sense, computation, geometry, and fractions.

5th & 6th - Prepare for success! Fifth and sixth grade students will review math and reading skills through interactive games and fun activities. They will learn different strategies to develop and enhance study skills, including organization and time management. The students will culminate their camp experience with a service learning project. Through critical thinking activities, leadership skills will be enhanced to prepare fifth and sixth graders for the school year.

QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE HOW DO I REGISTER? There are five camp options: Mini Camp, Play Camp, FUNdamentals, STEM Is Fun, and STAGES. You can register for all at communityschool.com/camp.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO PARTICIPATE? Camps are available for children age 3-eighth grade.

Grades refer to your grade in the Fall 2020.

IS BEFORE AND AFTER CARE PROVIDED? Before and after care is available for $75/week for a.m. or p.m. or $125/week for both.

If staying full day pack a non-refrigerated peanut free lunch.

Please bring a water bottle.
