If your GP is referring you to us – or you have asked to be referred – then it sounds like you are ready to make some changes.

In this flyer you will find some more information on what to expect when you come to see us.

The first thing to say is we won’t diagnose you or try to “fix you”. We will do something different; we will walk beside you as you begin your journey towards taking better control of your life.

Walking the road to recovery with you When we meet you, we will ask you some questions so we can build a complete picture of your life – the parts that are going well and the parts that might need to change.

When there is so much going on, it’s sometimes hard to see what’s wrong and what’s right. So, we will SPEND TIME with you, LISTENING, so we can get a better understanding of who you are.

After this period of reflection, you will understand yourself a bit more and be ready to think about the next step in your journey.

We will create a plan with you that is personal to you and what you have discovered about yourself. We won’t do the plan for you – but we will be there throughout to provide support when needed.

We will introduce you to other services or groups in the area that can help you with something you have identified. Or you may want something else – this is a journey where you are in charge.
