You don’t have to be a musician to hear like one Your ears are like fingerprints, no two are exactly alike. Many people find it difficult to wear the standard earbuds supplied with their iPod or other MP3 player. MyBuds™ are earbuds that are custom crafted to fit only your ears. They are created from a mold of your ears, carefully taken by one of the experienced Audiologists at Montgomery ENT Center. The molds (or impressions) are then sent to a lab where the myBuds™ are created, using state-of-art technology. MyBuds™ couple directly to the standard earbuds provided with your iPod or other MP3 player. They provide superior sound quality that can only be provided by a custom-fit earpiece. They stay securely in your ears while walking, running or riding and are unparalleled in terms of comfort. The Audiologists will guide you through a selection of materials and color options to find the myBuds™ that fit you best. For the true Audiophile (those who crave high fidelity sound), the

Audiologists at Montgomery ENT Center can also provide you with an Elite Series of custom earphones. They allow you to hear your iPod as you’ve never heard it before. The earphones are custom crafted in the same way as the myBuds™, but are equipped with professional quality balanced armature drivers for stunningly accurate sound reproduction. You can hear music, movies and games the way they were intended to be heard. Originally designed for stage performers, these earphones are for anyone with discriminating taste. They are rugged and reliable and can be coupled directly to your iPod, or almost any electronic listening system (personal gaming systems, MP3 players). Elite Series earphones come in an array of colors and can be further customized with artwork of your choosing! Contact Montgomery ENT Center at 891-8700 to begin your journey to better listening.

You don’t have to live with ingrown toenails Most of us at one time have developed painful ingrown toenails. Sometimes we are lucky and are able to cut out the corner of the toenail at home doing “bathroom surgery.” Other times we are not as lucky, and a painful, red draining nail corner occurs that can last for weeks, causing shoes to rub against the toe and create pain and disability. The physicians at Centers for Foot and Ankle Care are able to fix your toenail problem permanently with a short office procedure and have you walk out in regular shoes, without missing any of your normal activities.

The procedure, called a partial matrixectomy, is performed under local anesthesia and removes the deep, ingrown portion of the nail. Next, by applying an application of a safe chemical agent, the deep nail corners are cauterized and no longer are able to grow the painful nail corner again. A simple bandage is placed over the toe and the patient uses bandaids for the next few weeks while the toe heals. Call the nearest office for an appointment with one of our Foot and Ankle Care Specialists.

Cedar Village celebrates grand opening of Rehabilitation Center Cedar Village Retirement Community, located in Mason, recently celebrated the grand opening of their newly expanded Rehabilitation Center. With board members, elected officials and a proclamation by the mayor and city council of Mason, the grand opening was well attended and provided a first-hand tour of the new facility before it opened to the public. The Rehabilitation Center at Cedar Village is now open and offers outpatient and inpatient therapy in a brand new state-of-the art therapy gym and an updated and remodeled 50-bed inpatient unit. The Rehabilitation Center has an experienced staff of therapists who provide consistency and specialize in all forms of therapy including occupational, physical and speech. Therapy is available seven days per week. The Rehabilitation Center is designed to meet individual patient needs. After hospitalization, inpatients recuperate and rehabilitate following surgery, illness or injury with the help of highly trained staff and equipment that can adjust for all levels of care. Outpatients can continue their progress with their same therapy team as they regain their strength and return to their daily lives. The Rehabilitation Center therapy gym incorporates active therapies commonly referred to as therapeutic exercise. Improved outcomes are accomplished with the help of state-of-the-art equipment including a medical laser for light therapy; recumbent bikes; resistive

knee exercisers; weighted arm pulleys; rehabilitation treadmills; parallel bars and large screen “Wii-habilitation” activities. In addition Biodex balance trainers are the newest balance testing and training tool available. With four test protocols and six training modes, the Biodex helps identify individuals who are predisposed to injury and can help improve stabilization and range of motion. For life skills practice, the Rehabilitation Center has a full size kitchen, laundry, bedroom and bathroom suite incorporated into the therapy gym that allows therapists to work directly with patients in a safe and supervised setting. Adjacent outdoor spaces include a gardening area for horticulture therapy, as well as sidewalks, grass and ground for practice with walking. The Rehabilitation Center also offers driving assessments which are an additional component for successful rehabilitation. This screening includes cognitive and physical skills tests as well as in-car assessments which are important tools to ensure safety behind the wheel. “Our grand opening of the new Rehabilitation Center was a tremendous success,” said CEO/President of Cedar Village Carol Silver Elliott. “We are thrilled to offer this vital service to the Cincinnati community.” The Rehabilitation Center at Cedar Village is a nonprofit facility accepting new patients. Linda Krumme’s Gotta Dance instills solid technique and the pure joy of dance in students Beyond the sound of tap shoes and the skillful flutter of ballet slippers, Linda Krumme’s Gotta Dance studios overflow with the fun and enthusiasm of her students. Linda has taught dance for 40 years and possesses the gift of igniting a passion for dance in the hearts of her students. “My goal is to teach them really strong technique and performance skills so they are ready to enjoy a lifetime of dance. To do that, they need to be excited to come to a place where they can have a good time. Learning to

dance well is hard work and that is why I want to make our classes and the learning experience as much fun as I can and most of the time we succeed “ said Krumme. It must be working. Linda Krumme’s Gotta Dance in Anderson just completed a brand new 1500 square foot studio expansion opening this fall. Gotta Dance offers instruction in ballet, tap, pointe, lyrical/modern and contemporary dance styles or “Stylz” which is a combination class of

Jazz, Hip Hop and Broadway dance styles. All classes are taught in a non-competitive, family-friendly atmosphere. Kelli Miller is a student of Krumme’s and strongly believes that her dance classes have prepared her for her participation on her high school dance team. “I started when I was 3 and have enjoyed every second of it,” she said. “The teachers have a really good connection with the students and the individual focus has helped me improve.” Kelli’s mother Ann Miller feels

like it has been a wonderful experience for her daughter as well. “It is remarkable to watch how Linda and the other teachers have encouraged the emergence of Kelli’s inner poise and confidence,” she said. “She leaves classes challenged, invigorated, and joyous.” To learn more about the Mount Lookout and Anderson studios of Gotta Dance, visit www.lindasgottadance.com or call 321-5782. New classes are beginning soon!
