Postponed Porchfest gets new fall date

Princeton Porchfest 2026, set to take place on May 25 and canceled due to an unseasonable weather forecast, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26.

The annual festival, in which musicians take the “stage” for live performances on residential and commercial porches throughout the town, looked to be a casualty of a cold and rainy spring. Despite the fact that the festival was billed as a “rain or shine” event, the Arts Council of Princeton took the extraordinary step of canceling — or one should say now postponing — this year’s edition, which was set to be the largest ever in town.

But the Arts Council, which orchestrates the event, has decided now to reschedule it for fall.

As the Echo reported last month, the Porchfest has become a favorite artistic venue for area musicians, so the news of its revival should be well received. No word as yet as to which previously scheduled performers will be able to make the new date.
