s e l i m S g n Maki On October 13, 2018 the Red Hill Dental Office and Quakertown Dental Office will be providing the 6th Annual Dentistry from the Heart - a FREE day of dental care to those in need over the age of 18. To date they have been able to provide free dental care to almost 500 patients in the valley. They could not provide this service without the help of their super star volunteers and have been fortunate to have over 50 staff, family and friends giving their time and community support to make this day a great success.

Dentistry from the Heart (DFTH) is a worldwide nonprofit dedicated to providing free dental care to adults in need. DFTH (www.dentistryfromtheheart.org) was founded 16 years ago by a Florida dentist, since then, the profession of dentistry has reached out and shown the world the giving spirit of the dental care

industry, helping thousands of patients and giving back millions in free dental care.

The DFTH event will be held at the Red Hill Dental Office located at 942 Main Street, Red Hill, PA. Registration starts at 7:00 AM and patients are seen on a first come-first, first served basis. Patients can choose one of the following procedures; a cleaning, extraction or filling. Patients are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, arrive early, and bring chairs, snacks, water, etc. as they will be waiting outside to be seen.

The first 100 patients are guaranteed to be seen.

ONE POT CHICKEN & SAUSAGE CACCIAT ORE 1 medium yellow oni on 2 yellow or red pepper Chop the first four ing s redients and sauté 10 mushrooms of cho in olive oil for approx. ice 10 minutes until 2 medium zucchini vegetables are soft.

Drain 2 Tbsp. olive oil in pot then sprinkle with any excess liquid flour. Add tomato 1 16 oz. can Dice tom paste. Stir until combin atoes with mild chilis ed. Add tomatoes, 1 16 oz. can diced tom bay atoes in sauce leaf and thyme. Stir unt 1 16 oz. can diced tom il combined.

September is upon us in all of its back-to-school glory! Soon the crisp leaves will start to fall and a chilly breeze will whip through the air reminding us that there are apples to be picked and flannel that needs wearing. There are many sentiments that are synonymous with this time of the year, but one that seems to echo to everyone as soon as the school busses start rolling up is, “It’s that time already?” Whether you’re a student or not there is always a chance to learn and no better time than today to find new ways you can enjoy your life in the Upper Perk area.

Celebrating some of this month’s national observances is a great way to bring some new knowledge into your home and help your family bond together. Better Breakfast Month, an especially delicious learning opportunity, is September’s way of helping your day get off to a good start. Think of each morning as a new opportunity to add a little variety to your plate besides the same old frozen waffles or toast with jelly. Try incorporating healthy fats like avocado instead of cheese on an omelet and cutting out bread in exchange for overnight oats or a tropical smoothie (also a good chance to include National Papaya Month). Learning a new way to bring a healthy twist to your day is the best way to start any morning!

The Upper Perk area is famous for its bountiful farms and produce stands that bring seasonal

delicacies from the field to your table every day.

September is the National Month of many foods that can be bought locally and made into a festive feast for your table. Why not try incorporating these foods such as chicken, mushrooms, Italian cheese, and wild rice together in a tasty dish?

Challenge yourself to bring as many September foods together for a special treat! You can also top it off with a tasty nightcap, as it is also National Bourbon Heritage and California Wine month.

A clear night under the stars doesn’t have to be saved for summer around a campfire. September 30th is Astronomy Day, which is a great opportunity to show your kids where different constellations lie and discuss their school day under the sparkling sky. You might even find being outside looking at the big dipper and Orion’s Belt in the peace and quiet is a better way to unwind than the TV. There is no limit to what can be learned about space and it’s all outside for free.

All month long there are different opportunities to learn and grow. Of course these lessons don’t have to be learned just in September.
