Community Impact 2023-2024

OUR VISION

ALL WOULD BECOME FULLY DEVOTED FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST

OUR MISSION

LOVE GOD. LOVE OTHERS.

OUR GUIDING VALUES

WE BELIEVE with God, all things are possible. WE FOLLOW God’s Word and the Holy Spirit. WE WORSHIP in Spirit and Truth through creative expression. WE CONNECT people through care, service, and groups. WE GROW with intentionality in faith and Biblical knowledge. WE SERVE the body of Christ joyfully and with integrity. WE STEWARD God’s resources well and believe in radical generosity. WE EMPOWER all generations to GO into the world and BE the Church.

OUR MINISTRY CULTURE Becoming more like Christ is my primary objective. My area of ministry is the workbench God will use to shape me into the image of Christ. I am to prepare my heart in advance and show up early, modeling Christ so He can do great things in others through me. We build one another up and give each other grace when someone wobbles or fails. We arrest rumors, hearsay, and gossip with truth CommunityChurch.tv 2 and/or biblical process in love. Community Impact 2023-2024

To: The Families of Community Church, 2023 has been a year full of God's blessings! Your willingness to sacrifice and courageous faith allowed God to achieve much this year. Many gave their hearts to Jesus for the first time! Others rededicated their lives to be active followers of Christ and committed to growing in His Word. At the same time, others received hope and care and experienced healing and freedom. Loving God and Loving Others is at the heart of what we do. Transformed lives is our mission. We strive to create safe environments and experiences where people can experience healthy community, authentic worship, grow in God's word, and encounter the Holy Spirit. We believe each person has a name, every name has a story, and each story matters to God. In this Community Church Impact Report, you will see some of the significant ways God has worked in and through Community Church. Our Directional Leaders share the heart of their areas and invite you to join them in what God is doing. Through your generosity of time, talents, and resources, every ministry was fully equipped in 2023. Several families gave large financial gifts above their regular giving that allowed us to update the lighting in all classrooms, replace our 22+ year old carpet, make several updates to classrooms, add 3 miles of hiking trails, start an 18-hole Disc Golf course, and make several other significant repairs and classroom enhancements. On page 29, you will find the minimum funding requirements for 2024 approved by the Elders. The 2024 ministry funding goal is $20,235 per week. A membership vote regarding this funding will be taken by paper and electronic ballot on January 7, 2024. Lauri and I continue to be so blessed that God has allowed us to be part of the family we call Community since 2000. We love you and look forward to all that 2024 will bring. In Christ's Name,

Pastor Bill Williams

WORSHIP ARTS/AV WORSHIP // An Expression of Reverence & Adoration Worship Arts Ministry strives to create a distraction-free space where people are moved to worship God with passion and authenticity. Our heart is to develop worship leaders: people whose hearts are set on loving God and drawing attention to His greatness. We desire to see people find their song as worshipers in their homes, workplaces, and communities. Music, dance, songwriting, skits, stage and light design, and sound engineering are just a few of the creative avenues, but we know there are more! Worship arts is ever expanding and dependent upon the people God brings to our team. If you’re interested in being a part, contact Darla (platform team) or Drew (audiovisual team). Our heart is to help you gain confidence in your skill and to walk alongside you as we all grow in knowing Christ. Becoming like Him is our primary goal. A team member must be committed, reliable, and can serve on scheduled Sundays or as needed. Members must be patient, teachable and team players. It is extremely important to think creatively and be a problem solver to push through technicolor musical difficulties as they occur. God has grown our worship arts team by bringing more members and growing us together as a family. We pray for one another, learn together, and encourage one another. We have experienced some powerful and sweet moments of worship in God’s presence, and we look forward to experiencing more of the Lord in the future. It’s an adventure, and we are excited for it. Will you join us?

1ST IMPRESSIONS HOST TEAM + FACILITIES The Host team is a group that ministers to the Lord by serving others on Sunday mornings and during special events. The heart of each team member is to create an inviting atmosphere by being the light bearers He has called us to be. “Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. // Matthew 5:15-16 Encountering the Lord when people first arrive on campus is priority and we are committed to creating a place for those who have a passion to minister to others through serving. A love for the Lord and a smile is all that is needed! We are committed to coming alongside you in your journey to find your ministry at Community. The Lord has been so gracious to give us the opportunity host different events during the year. We have been honored to partner with several different organizations such as National Day of Prayer, Guthrie Public Schools, Theatre groups, homeschool groups to just name a few. Our prayer is for each of those who are a part of one of these groups to encounter the Lord through us or just by being on campus.

1ST IMPRESSIONS GROUNDS TEAM With over 90 acres, our grounds and property are a big part of First Impressions. Our heart is to create a beautiful place for God’s people to gather and enjoy His presence. We host annual community outreach events including our Freedom Fest and Fall Fest. Public school and homeschool organizations have also hosted cross-country events here. Over the last few years, we have developed walking trails that are open for the community to enjoy. There are currently approximately 3 miles of trails allowing people to get out and enjoy God’s creation. The most recent addition to our property is an 18-hole, professional quality, disc golf course. We anticipate regional, and perhaps national, tournaments to be held here in the future, creating a space for people who might never go to a church to visit our campus. The upkeep of our grounds is major undertaking, and we consider it a ministry to God, mostly done through a team of volunteers. If you have a passion for working outside, please consider using your ministry gift through mowing, trimming, flower bed maintenance, etc. A team of people each contributing a few hours can make caring for 90 acres a manageable task. It also gives team members the opportunity to use their ministry skills and talents to glorify God and create a beautiful space for people to experience His presence.

KIDS Looking back over the last year, it’s incredible to think about all the kids who ran into the love of Jesus. Through fun lessons, activities, VBS, and camp, we were able to share the Word of God with our kids and teach them about God’s love. Biblical curriculum and authentic relationships help us lay foundations of the Gospel in our kids and their family's lives. We strive to be an outreach to our community, constantly directing them to Jesus. We are passionate about partnering with families as they train their kids in the truth of God’s Word. We offer an opportunity for our friends who have disabilities to be able to run into Jesus. Wonderfully Made is a place where all are welcome and provides not just a safe environment including Bible curriculum and fun but also the opportunity for their families to attend church in person during our 10:45am on Sundays. We invite those who feel called to lead the youngest of the flock to Jesus to reach out to us and join our team of volunteers! Kid’s Ministry is a wonderful way to get involved at Community Church! We pray those who feel called to lead children to Jesus would join us! Our volunteers play a special role in ministering directly to the children and teaching them about God’s love through Bible lessons, games, and activities. We have times of fellowship together as we work alongside each other as a team, have huddles where we share devotionals, and pray for each other and the ministry. We would be happy to get some information in your hands. We celebrate all that God is doing through kids' ministry and the growth we see with children’s families. And we invite you to celebrate with us!

MDO 2023 has been a wonderful year for Community Kids Mother’s Day Out ministry! It’s been so sweet to see the Lord’s continued provision through our group that He has orchestrated - families, children, and staff alike! We believe God places everyone in our ministry on purpose and for a purpose! We focus on developing a strong spiritual atmosphere for all. Our director Rachel Rudek, with guidance from the Lord, wrote the curriculum we now implement in our classrooms. We launched the new curriculum in January of this year and Jesus is always our main focus each month! In addition, we teach educational foundations, promote developmental skills and milestones, as well as teach social and school readiness skills! We are passionate about Jesus, children, and education and our ministry exists to teach, serve, and love others! We are honored and humbled to help point young hearts to Jesus and build relationships with families along the way! We finished out the spring semester with 55 children enrolled, then hosted our first inaugural MDO graduation in May. We sent off 16 students at graduation with 140 guests in attendance! This summer we had 75 children enrolled. We currently have 55 children enrolled for our 2023-24 school year with a staff of 17. We finished out the year with our first MDO Christmas program! Looking forward with God is exciting! We have dreams of possibly adding another infant and/or toddler class, as well as an older elementary class for the summer session to welcome students who’ve completed 4th-6th grade. We’re excited for the future in our MDO ministry and give God complete control. We know anywhere He leads is a great place to be! His word teaches in 1 Peter 4:10 that He has given everyone gifts and we are to use those gifts to serve one another. We will never take lightly the responsibility and honor of being chosen by God to carry out our mission at Mother’s Day Out!

STUDENTS We are passionate about developing kingdom leaders who are confident that with God, nothing is impossible. We desire to see students' relationships with the Lord transform their lives and reach their families, schools, and friends. Through weekly learning labs, small groups, and worship, we create a space for students to encounter the life-changing love of Jesus and learn to apply Biblical truths to their lives. Weekend events and camps allow us focused time to grow closer together and closer to the Lord. And those silly themed events? We have a ton of fun together! Catalyst is very leadership driven - we intentionally create opportunities for students to take the lead in planning, serving, and facilitating ministry. Our team is constantly blown away with how much faith, talent, passion, and purpose God has put in our 7th-12th graders. We are all leading and learning together! Interested in serving? If you have a heart to point young people to Christ, play silly team building games, and have honest talks about discipleship, student ministry might be for you! Student ministry leaders must actively be pursuing a personal relationship with the Lord and honoring Him with their life. They model what it means to be a follower of Christ and come alongside students who are learning to do the same. Leaders stay connected with what’s going in their students’ lives, pray for them, and commit to serving consistently. There are lots of roles - serve at big events like To the Max, cook meals for Amplify students, run check-in at Catalyst, or lead as small group on Wednesday nights. As a student leader, you are a valued team player. Our team meets quarterly to catch up, discuss lesson topics, and plan future student events together. With video trainings and practical experiences, we help you gain ministry leadership skills such as: caring for students, leading discussions, teaching lessons, avoiding burnout, understanding mental health for teens and more. Contact Darla Kilhoffer if you are interested in being a part of Student Ministry.

BAPTISM Water baptism is a symbolic and powerful way to be who God made you to be by doing what Jesus asked you to do. It is an outward expression of an inward commitment. We love celebrating lives that have been forever changed when one has proclaimed Jesus as Lord of their life, which then provides a moment for others to see a picture of the joy that Jesus offers.

GROWTH & CARE ADULT GROWTH & CARE The vision of Community Church is that all would become fully devoted followers of Christ, while living in relationship with others. Falling in line with this vision, the heart of the Adult Growth and Care Ministry is to nurture disciples for our Lord Jesus Christ. The goal is to encourage and equip believers; and to achieve this goal, we focus on teaching, caring, praying, and healing. Teaching: We focus on teaching the Word of God so all will have the opportunity to learn more about Jesus and His salvation. Caring: We focus on caring for our people on every level – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We communicate with those in need by calling on them in their home, making a phone call, or by sending a card of encouragement. Praying: We focus on praying for our church family. We have several prayer warriors who lift all the prayer needs of our people to God daily. As requests for prayer are received, our prayer list is updated and shared. God asks us to seek Him in prayer, and because we believe in the power of prayer, we are able to witness great breakthroughs in the lives of people. Healing: Everyone has scars from living life – some are deep to the heart, and some are not. Some scars keep us from experiencing the abundant life Jesus offers. In 2024, we are excited about the development of a staff of trained coaches to be able to walk with and assist in healing the scars of those in need. We are not perfect, but we believe the secret is to have healthy disciples helping others. Join us as we grow in our walk with Christ.

BEYOND OUR WALLS BRAZIL In the summer of 2023, we had the honor and privilege of taking a God-appointed team of 21 members beyond our walls, all the way to South America to a small fisherman’s Island called Bom Jesus dos Passos “Bonja” in Bahia, Brazil! Our Community missionaries met with a 28 member Brazilian team of missionaries, and together they ministered for seven days, bringing the Joy of Jesus through a children’s crusade and worship, the Word of God through street evangelism and Walk for Jesus marches, the love of God through workshops, and the message of hope through medical and dental clinics. Lives were touched and forever changed through testimonies of freedom from addiction, restorations of families, and mental health awareness and healing. As the team left Brazil, hearts were transformed for what God did and a bond was birthed between the Brazilians and the Americans that goes beyond borders and language barriers. The mission has just begun for what the Lord will continue to do in Brazil, with Kingdom growth for His children across the globe from a seed that was planted right here at Community Church in Guthrie, America.

Going to Brazil as ambassadors of Christ was an incredible privilege. The team from Community Church was indeed handpicked by the Lord. He moved in mighty ways among us, not only in the lives of the Brazilian people, but in the heart of every team member. Our time at Bom Jesus dos Passos was Godappointed and we believe many fruits will be harvested for God's glory. His power, presence and love were manifested in unforgettable ways. He formed a bond between our church and the people of the island, and we believe the work is not yet done. Love God, Love others. Natália McMillan | 937.941.7562 | natalia@communitychurch.tv The Baptist Collegiate Ministry on the campus of Langston University exists to cultivate an environment that produces disciples and develops relationships. This is done through several ways including, but not limited to Bible Studies and a Free Lunch on Wednesdays (FLOW). We support the Langston BCM through financial gifts of the Dollar Bill Club.

BEYOND OUR WALLS LOGAN COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING

Natália McMillan | 937.941.7562 | natalia@communitychurch.tv The Logan County Council on Aging provides referral and congregate dining service for the elderly. A hot meal is served each weekday at Highland Hall. Hot meals and nonperishable items are also delivered via volunteer drivers to shut ins. We support this ministry with prayer and financial gifts from the Dollar Bill Club. They are located at 1102 E. Warner, Guthrie.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Jean Ingram | 850.637.2548 | jeancingram@yahoo.com Every year we partner with Samaritan’s Purse for Operation Christmas Child where we collect shoeboxes filled with gifts. We believe shoeboxes open the door for the Gospel to be shared with children around the world. After they receive their gifts, they are invited to participate in The Greatest Journey discipleship course where they learn more about the Bible and God's great love for them.

TRUE NORTH MINISTRIES

Tyler Rudek | 405.202.6032 | tyler@communitychurch.tv The mission of True North Ministries is to create environments where men can hear from God. The heart and vision of True North Ministries is to orient men to WALK with God, ENGAGE in the larger story, and LIVE free. Not only do we support True North Ministries monetarily, True North is also one of our Men’s Ministry’s partners.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL We had an amazing VBS week this year! We hosted 319 children from the community on our campus to hear the Gospel. Many volunteers came forward to serve at this event and ensure that the kids had a safe and fun time learning about Jesus and His love for us. Lots of children approached their leaders each night for prayer and to accept Jesus into their hearts. This time wouldn’t have been possible without God, and a group of volunteers walking in obedience with the Lord to serve Him and lead the children to Jesus. Not only did our leaders and volunteers serve well, but they served with His JOY. We appreciate our volunteers so much and invite you to come spread the joy of the Lord with us!

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” // Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)

GENEROSITY

We believe generosity should be viewed as an expression of our worship of the Lord. Every year, families give their time, talents, and resources to advance the Kingdom of God further. Their obedience to the Holy Spirit’s prompting and His Word brings blessing to their home and the Church. When we collectively give what God asks us to give, He not only blesses the giver, He blesses everyone in the Church. We celebrate the faithfulness of God’s people and His provision for His Church! (2 Corinthians 9:7, Luke 6:38)

What does Community believe about giving? God is our provider. He promises in Matthew 6:33 to provide for our needs. The Bible teaches that everything we have comes from God and belongs to Him. Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” Therefore, we are mere stewards of what God has given to us. Tithing is giving back to God what is already His. What is First Fruits, Tithe, and an Offering? First Fruits illustrates giving to God from a grateful heart, and it sets a pattern of giving back to Him the first (and the best) of what He has given us. Not being under the Old Testament Law, the Christian is under no further obligation than to give cheerfully and liberally (2 Corinthians 9:6-7). The word “Tithe” is found in the Old Testament and means one-tenth. When you choose to tithe, you give one-tenth or 10% of your earnings. Offerings are gifts given above your normal giving. God has blessed some people financially who are able to give substantially more than 10%. What are my giving dollars used for? Your gifts are used to fund God’s work through the ministry of the church. This includes weekend services, counseling support, weekly discipleship ministries, and outreach. Community Church leaders are committed to operating in a biblically-sound and financially responsible manner and, therefore, have chosen to not incur any long-term debt. We have committed to leaving a legacy for future generations that is healthy and debt-free. If you have any questions, please contact one of our elders.

FUNDING MINISTRY Through the generosity of God’s people, First Fruits, Tithes, and Offerings are given to Community Church. This giving supports the vision and mission of Community Church. (2 Corinthians 9:7-11; Deuteronomy 14:23; Deuteronomy 26) A person’s primary offering goes into our Ministry Fund. This fund provides funds for all ministries at and through Community. This includes staffing, training, curriculum, crafts, cleaning, outreach, maintenance, utilities, etc. Throughout the year, we have additional giving opportunities over and above the primary offering for causes, events, projects, or campaigns like “Forward with God” or the “Dollar Bill Club.” This category of funds is identified as In-Out.
