About Digital Australia and the Digital Business Awards

BUSINESS

Digital Australia is where relationships between business and organizations and digital innovation thrive. It’s where stories are shared and where businesses and organisations can access the skills needed to build digital capacity. Digital Australia is also home to the Digital Business Awards (DBAs). The DBAs have been developed to celebrate the businesses, organisations and individuals shaping Australia’s digital economy, through innovation, creativity and the smart use of technology.

Let’s be clear: the Digital Business Awards (DBAs) are not tech industry awards. They are the premier platform for recognising businesses and organisations that use digital to create real value — locally. The DBAs celebrate the innovators transforming their communities: sharpening local competition, unlocking local opportunity, and putting places on the map through smart, creative, connected digital solutions. The DBAs prove that global trends aren’t just happening somewhere else — they’re happening here.

So, what is digital? Digital is the smart use of technology, data, and creativity to connect people, sharpen performance, and build stronger businesses. It’s not just about tools or platforms, it’s a mindset for innovation and adaptation. Digital shows up as AI, video, e-commerce, social media, web development, communication, data management, apps, membership programs, internal processes, customer engagement, content management, and much more.

How it works 1

The application process is divided into three stages. Entrants start the process by reviewing their digital success to determine which category and class they best fit. They then create their DMA profile at www.digitalaustralia.au and move to the application phase.

2

3 Entrants complete their nomination online by answering five questions that enable judges to gain insights into their journey and value of their digital media asset. Entrants supply URLs and supporting information.

Applications are reviewed by our judges against a criteria of 10 points. Each application is scored out of 100 and finalists are determined for each category. Judges vote on the winner for each class.

Tell us about your digital project and how you’ve worked with technology to help grow your business or organisation.
