ARRISTA Matt Hargreaves’ recipe of that aromatic co ee that regular customers come back daily for has been part of his business dream since teenage years.

“It’s a style of blend you can’t fault,” the 32-year-old self-taught entrepreneur said when asked what makes his cafe at Marsden Park’s HomeCo shopping centre a popular one for co ee lovers.

It surely is a load of perfect brews to prepare for customers in a hurry, along with an array of tempting recipes, sandwiches and salads, for the hardworking sta .

“It’s a avoursome blend of rich co ee, caramelised, fruity and nutty, milky with chocolate in 100 percent arabica that I roast every week,” said Matt.

“I’ve kept the same blend of co ee I’ve been serving my customers for ve years now.”

From age 14, Matt worked after-school at KFC and restaurants around the Hills district.

While on these jobs, and while a student at Northholm Grammar School, he said he taste-tested various co ee blends, and that’s when he had set his future dream to open his own caf? and create his own co ee blend.

“I’ve experimented di erent blends to see what people really like and what they don’t like. Then I sat down with a co ee roaster and tested at least 200 blends I’ve made over months to come up with the nal product we serve today,” he said.

During the pandemic, when trade slowed down and working from home became the norm of his customers, Matt created a lockdown menu with his co ee blend created in a teamwork with the Black Drum Roasters.

At the same time, he and the roasters began brewing the Baristas’ Shed blend into a kilo pack of ready to brew co ee on wholesale for customers to take home and make themselves for their daily co ee x if they can’t pop in at his caf?.

“We now have customers buying our co ee packages who are from regional areas like Orange [in the Central West] and beyond, people from Berowra [and northern] coastal areas, and from Manly and other [eastern Sydney] suburbs.”

“People from all over these places are enjoying our co ee blend and if they can’t come in at Marsden Park, we know they can still enjoy it at home or at their workplaces if they order online from us.”

Last year, Mr Hargreaves celebrated his seventh year in business making nest co ee and delicious meals that already earned him a prized recognition winning the Blacktown Local Business Award in 2019.

“We just want to say to them that we’re here in Western Sydney bringing out really good co ee, alluring meals and lovely people to meet, you need not travel far to enjoy a great cuppa,” he said.

His caf? is now open on Fridays and Saturday nights for ‘The Baristas’ Shed Italiano’ from 6pm serving up customers who’s asked for their favourite cuisine, iconic co ee, drinks and ambience they crave for in their neighbourhood.
