Health care providers face a range of barriers in offering the full scope of contraceptive options to patients. Proposed solutions must meet the needs of both providers and patients. As part of a broader contraceptive access landscape assessment, Ci3 at the University of Chicago conducted a family planning provider needs assessment to better understand what local providers need and want in order to increase their capacity to provide comprehensive, compassionate contraceptive care. Armed with this information, coalitions, healthcare provider organizations and policymakers can identify priorities and develop programs, policies, and projects to improve access to a full range of contraceptive services for patients in Chicago and Illinois.
