New task force focuses on Lake Quinsigamond safety

REGION — Law enforcement will be active throughout the boating season on Lake Quinsigamond thanks to a new task force. The Lake Quinsigamond Task Force will be made up of Shrewsbury, Worcester, Massachusetts Environmental Police and Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation law enforcement personnel and vehicles. REGION - “Pomp and Circumstance” played across the region last weekend as area high schools celebrated the Class of 2021 at their respective graduations. Largely dodging rainstorms in favor of scalding heat, the ceremonies simultaneously marked milestones for entire communities. Massachusetts lifted the majority of its COVID-19 restrictions late last month. The first weekend following that news, though, remained largely locked down as rain dampened Memorial Day celebrations that had already been planned with earlier restrictions in mind. That left graduations as some of the first local mass gatherings without masks in over a year. See photos and complete coverage beginning on page 20.
