Craig L. Schofield, 72
Northborough Firefighter
NORTHBOROUGH – Craig L. Schofield, a lifelong Northborough resident and career firefighter, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2021, after a short period of declining health. He was 72 years old. Craig was born in Marlborough and raised in Northborough, one of 5 children to the late Malcolm A. and Beverly L. (Burrows) Schofield.
From a young age Craig wanted to be a fireman. He served as a call firefighter for the Town of Northborough while working for the Northborough Parks Department. He also enjoyed being outdoors and would assist the Fiske Family, as a gardener, at the former Fiske Garden Center in Northborough and the Fiske Gardens of Sterling.
After graduating from Northborough High School, Craig completed his BS in Fire Science from the University of Massachusetts. In 1971 Craig enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly and honorably served as a Fire Protection Specialist. Upon returning home, Craig worked as a base firefighter for several years at Ft. Devens until its decommission. He then transferred to Westover Air Reserve Base where he finished out his career.
Craig enjoyed traveling. He summered in Stockton Springs, Maine and enjoyed spending time on his property in E. Corinth, Maine. Later in life Craig would travel to Cheticamp, Nova Scotia, where he found a new sideline, being a whale tour guide making a lasting impression on all that he met and lifelong friendships. Craig was a genuine friend and had a strong yet positive force within him which he shared with everyone. He was a true friend- no matter how long it was between visits, Craig would welcome you with open arms.
Craig is survived by his godson, Colby Fiske and his wife Amanda of Holden along with their children Brayden, Mason and Mackenzie Fiske, all Amici and his partner Ashley, Kevin Amici, and Brian Amici, and a great-grandson, Luca Amici. Donald is also survived by two brothers, Terrill (Short) Wright and his wife Jackie and Wilfred K. Wright and his wife Claudette.
Slattery Funeral Home, Inc. of Marlborough held a private funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when it is safe for loved ones to gather.

He also leaves four sisters, Andrea Schofield and her husband Steven of Auburn, Dale Gieser and her husband Will of Ocala, Fl, Dawn Wickam of Sturgis, SD and Marla Schofield of Arizona; a nephew, Justin Gieser and his children Carter and Scarlett; a niece, Kelly Gieser and his many friends and fellow firefighters.

Donald D. Wright, 80
MARLBOROUGH - Donald D. Wright, of Marlborough, died Feb. 6, 2021, following a lengthy illness. He was 80 years old. Donald was born in Newport Center, Vt. He was the son of the late Kenneth S. and Isabelle (Sanville) Wright, and the beloved husband of Alice R. (Ferland) Wright.
Married over 61 years, Donald and Alice did everything together. With farming in Don’s blood, he and Alice’s passion in life was their Berlin farm, ADDA Farms, where they produced their own maple syrup from their maple trees, and sold it locally. They were also a fixture at the Bolton Fair for a number of years where they displayed their Shire draft horses and a beautiful array of wagons and carts.
Donald had a wide range of business interests including his construction company, WBCC (Wright Brothers Construction Corp.), Post Road Used Auto Parts, and the Marlborough Transfer Station, all of which he ran with his wife, Alice.
Besides his wife, Donald is survived by his three daughters, Teresa Amici of Holden, Jean Rabelo and her husband Julio of Shrewsbury, and Angela Lutton and her husband William (Bill) of Berlin. He leaves behind five grandchildren, Kristen Donahue and her husband Jeffrey, David Santospago, Kenneth (Kenny)
Angelina Vigliatura, 92
SHREWSBURY - Angelina “Lena” (Pedone) Vigliatura, 92, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on the morning of Jan. 31, 2021 at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, where she had become a beloved resident amongst the staff. She was the devoted wife of the late John F. “Jack” Vigliatura Jr. for 70 years, before his passing in 2017.
Lena leaves her children, John F. “Jack” Vigliatura III, Rose F. Prentiss, Virginia Brothers, and Francine Cote; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Victor Pedone; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and her parents, the late Angelo and Frances (D’Amato) Pedone, Lena was predeceased by her son, Steven Vigliatura; her grandson, John F. “Jack” Vigliatura IV; and her siblings, John Pedone and Grace Flaminio.
Services for Lena were held privately for her family and she was buried alongside her husband, Jack, in Mountain View Cemetery. The BrittonShrewsbury Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
Mary A. Donadio, 91
GRAFTON/MILLBURY - Mary A. (Miller) Donadio, 91, passed away Feb. 6, 2021 following an illness. Her husband of 57 years, Frederick J. Donadio, passed away in 2006. Mary leaves her daughter and sonin-law, Cheryl A. and Russel Lesniewski of Millbury; seven grandchildren, Jamie A. Donadio, Angela M. Keb, Stacey L. Burr, Kelley M. Donadio, Justin M., Kurt R., and Kyle J. Lesniewski; and her greatgrandchildren, Elijah F and Jacob Keb, Max Donadio and Nevaeh S. King, and Wyatt Baribeault, Hannah Benson and Blake Burr and Jordan Lesniewski. She also leaves her sister, Bessie Morgan, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Frederick A. and Joseph W. Donadio; one great-grandson, Jericho Trudel; and her siblings Harry, John, Edna and Sammy Miller and Alice Ferris.
Mary’s family and friends gathered Feb. 9 at Roney Funeral Home of North Grafton for her funeral service, and she was laid to rest at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
Patricia M. Grogan, 82
WESTBOROUGH - Patricia M. Grogan, 82, of Westborough, passed away Jan. 28, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Francis J. Grogan. Born in Mattapoisett, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Ethel C. (Raymond) Merchant.
She is survived by three children, Christine (Tina) MacConnell and her husband Jon of Hopkinton, JoAnn Dwyer and her husband Tom of Westborough, and Charlene Slocum and her husband Brad of Canton; six grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson and her husband Andrew, Emily Dwyer, Sam MacConnell and his wife Julie, Scott MacConnell, Bradford Slocum Jr., and Justin Slocum; one great-grandson, Zane Johnson; a step-daughter-in-law, Cheryl Kelley; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by a step-son, James Kelley, and her siblings, Carroll Chase, Robert Merchant and Raymond Merchant.
A graveside service will be held privately with burial at St John’s Cemetery in Worcester. Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
Cornelia F. Martone, 95
SHREWSBURY - Cornelia F. “Nellie” (Santa Maria) Martone, 95, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully Feb 5, 2021 after a short period of declining health. Nellie is survived by her devoted husband, Carmen; their three children, Joann E. Absi and her husband John of Wilmington, N.C., Patricia A. Urbano of Orange, Conn., Carmen W. Martone and his wife Denise (Buteau) of Shrewsbury; five grandchildren she adored, Christina, Matthew, Diana, and her husband Alfie, Anthony, Lea, and her husband Kevin; and five great-grandchildren, Vincenzo, Valencia, Luca, Liana, and Mariella. One of 11 children, she is survived by five, John B. and Joseph A. Santa Maria, Rose A Puleo, Antoinette J. Santa Maria, and Ann Marie DiVerdi. Besides her parents, Angelo A. and Nancy M. (Bisceglia) Santa Maria, five siblings predeceased her, Frank, Michael and Matteo Santa Maria, Mary Rucci, and Esther Nozzolillo.
Calling hours were held Feb. 10 at St Anne’s Church of Shrewsbury, followed by her celebration of Christian burial Mass and burial at St. John Cemetery. The Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel of Worcester assisted with arrangements.
Nancy A. Mossey, 72
MARLBOROUGH - Nancy A. (St Francis) Mossey, 72. passed away Jan. 28, 2021 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester. She was the beloved wife of the late Roger D. Mossey Sr., who died in 2001.
