BURGH ‘WILL BE SUNK’ SHOCK Don’t panic – but Dumbarton could disappear beneath the waves in just three decades’ time, according to a hard-hitting environmental report from a group of leading scientists. It is possibly a rather bleak introduction to 2020, but could also be seen as a wake-up call for the start of a decade where the threat posed by global warming has suddenly started to seem very real. The recent report doesn’t just single out Dumbarton, of course – rising sea levels are also expected to flood the Forth bridges, Leith, and even Clydebank ... unless dramatic action is taken within the space of a generation.

the dangers that lie in store if action is not taken soon. There are flood prevention schemes, of course – but as witness the catastrophe in New Orleans (which has had flood defences in place for centuries) – they are no guarantee against the vagaries of climate change and the risks posed by rising sea levels. There is no doubt that the syndrome is already well-

“Over the course of the 21st Century, global sea levels are

The report says that despite existing defences, increasing ocean flooding, permanent submergence, and coastal defence costs are likely to create “profound humanitarian, economic, and political consequences”. It adds: “This will happen not just in the distant future, but also within the lifetimes of most people alive today.” Depressing stuff, perhaps, but it’s certainly a live talking point for the new year – and puts modern green initiatives in proper perspective.

GEARING UP FOR BURGH 2020 Planning is this month seriously underway for the event which could emerge as the most unforgettable public celebration of the year – Dumbarton 2020 – fronted by iconic Scots actor James Cosmo. Billed as an exciting new festival of music, arts and recreational events the celebration of local life and heritage will run over four days in June, using as its central theme the way water shaped the Burgh’s story, from distilling to shipbuilding.

It is a fascinating story, hugely associated with the name “Denny”, but contains lots of what is now minor detail that some may find surprising – such as the fact that a Dumbarton yard once built a warship for the Confederate States of America.

With the waterfront as a backdrop, artists and national companies will join local schools and community groups to “reinvigorate the town’s maritime history”.

The themes of Build, Float, and Connect will run through the festival’s programme of activities for all ages, underlining Dumbarton’s location as a River Town.

will “reflect the history of the town, contribute to its present, and help shape its future”. Running from June 4 to 7, the programme will include concerts, exhibitions, a community play, historic re-enactments, parades, and more. With the recent new focus on the importance of the Rock in Dumbarton’s story the festival will also remind locals and visitors that the ancient town was once a stronghold of the Britons of Strathclyde – long before it became Scottish. Will Harry and Meghan give the event an extra lift by putting in an appearance – to link with the “Dumbarton” part of Harry’s title?

There was still no news on this Dumbarton 2020 will aim to be an much-asked question as this issue went to press, but all should event that everyone can be part become clear in the weeks to come. of, in a spectacular event which

SCALING HEIGHTS FOR A CHARITY ADVERTISE If you are contemplating the dreich Scottish January weather and dreaming of a new challenge to lift your spirits the SSPCA may just have the answer. Starting next month the animals charity (which runs an invaluable local rescue and rehoming centre) is running a new season of its popular – and very useful – sponsored climbs of Mount Kilimanjaro. “I am delighted that the plans for the new campus have been approved.

Renton pupils have been given a great start to the new year, with the announcement that plans for a new £15.1 million school campus have been given the crucial green light. However it will also mean saying goodbye to the old school, which will be demolished when the new one takes over. To be built on the grounds of the present school the new campus will include a new Renton Primary School, a language and communication unit and a Riverside Early Learning and Childcare Centre. Children will have increased spaces for playing outside, and a

new three storey building whose classrooms will link to outdoor areas on each floor. Two rooms on each level of the campus will be dedicated to pupils within the Language and Communications Unit. In addition, a new multi-use sports pitch and playground area will be built on the site of the current school. Renton Primary School head teacher Lynne Dempster said:

Materials to be used in the construction will be chosen to enhance the regeneration of the village and blend in with the nearby Category ‘A’ listed Smollet Monument and the ’B’ listed War Memorial. The council’s chief planning officer, Pamela Clifford, said: “I welcome the Committee’s decision to approve these plans. “When complete this will be a modern, purpose-built campus, with the capability to increase outdoor learning, support more children with additional needs and also address the future needs of the area.” Chief education officer Laura Mason said: “We are committed to investing in our young people by enhancing educational facilities and in turn increasing opportunities to attain and achieve”.

RUNNING INTO A NEW DECADE Regular readers will be well aware of the phenomenal success of the annual Shortbread Run, which this year clocks up its ninth year at Balloch Country Park, making it a real local tradition. Completing the two mile course along with scores of other health-conscious local people has become a favourite way of welcoming the new year, appealing to everyone from first time participants to seasoned veterans. For some people a day off after the excesses of Christmas and the New Year may seem a compelling reason to stay indoors and take it easy, particularly if the weather is characteristically unappealing. For many more it’s a case of “haud

me back” – an ideal chance to kick start the year by putting the best foot forward. Check the papers on January 2 and you will see that some hardy souls like to shrug off the indulgence of the preceding week by leaping into a freezing river or the sea, either in fancy dress or wearing very little at all. It is perhaps no wonder that the now well-established aquatic event at South Queensferry on the Forth is called the Loony Dook. The Shortbread Run (there’s complimentary shortbread at the

end) is in a different category altogether, and while it deserves a bit of commitment is definitely doable for a wide cross-section of the local community. This time around the event is on Thursday, January 2 (starts 10.30am), and all are welcome – whether walkers, joggers or runners... it’s the taking part that counts. Organised by West Dunbartonshire Athletics Club, the run (or walk, or jog) starts at the main gates of the park before taking in the stately surrounds of Balloch Castle, the walled garden and of course the beautiful backdrop of the hills before looping round to finish where it started at the main gates of the park on Balloch Road.

Parking offences could soon be handled by the council, in a bid to “improve the vitality of the area” by easing congestion around key local sites. All parking enforcement is currently a police responsibility, but at a recent meeting it was agreed to study whether it would be worth applying to transfer the job to the local authority. The move would also naturally free up police resources for other more pressing tasks, and could be a win-win for West Dunbartonshire.

Of 32 authorities in Scotland, 21 have applied to the Scottish Government to decriminalise parking enforcement and transfer the powers from Police Scotland.

We’ll soon be told whether there’s a sound basis for a change of regime – and what the potential benefits to the area might be.

If Decriminalised Parking Enforcement is given the go ahead in West Dunbartonshire, the authority would enforce its own parking policies using parking attendants.

A main benefit is seen as the ability to improve access to town centre businesses and facilities, support the economy and – last but not least - reduce frustration for visitors.

The powers enable parking attendants to issue Penalty Charge Notices to motorists breaching parking controls in specific areas.

There is probably no shortage of Burns enthusiasts in West Dunbartonshire, particularly at this time of year when January 25 is the cue for a welter of Burns Suppers across the country. But Dumbarton Burns Club needs new members – and particularly people who can perform at its events (whether by recitation or song – or even bagpipes). The veteran stars of past occasions want to take a back seat in favour of new talent, and can offer lots of useful advice to people willing to take the plunge. SATURDAY’S ALL RIGHT FOR ALAN

ACCEPTING ALL NEW PATIENTS

He’s Dumbarton’s very own Piano Man, and performed to a packed house with an outstanding tribute to Billy Joel... but that’s not Alan Ryden’s only achievement.

He also does an astonishingly lifelike impression of music legend Elton John, and at Denny Civic Theatre on Saturday, February 8, will be playing to what will probably be another sell-out crowd.

most iconic musicians of the past four decades.

Much as with, say, Abba, absolutely everybody knows the words to two or three Elton hits, and there will be ample opportunity to join in as the night unfolds – bringing some glitz and magic to a dreich winter night while also raising funds for a worthy cause.

On this occasion Alan will be supported by the band Rock Salt, who come with their blend of rock, pop and folk, bringing with them a selection of memorable 80’s tunes, supported further by Dumbarton’s unforgettable prodigy kids, Ava & Alfie, who sang in this year's final of ITV’s The Voice.

It’s in aid of charity, and the event has been organised by Dumbarton Rotary – who say tickets are selling fast on the back of Alan’s sterling local reputation. Offering a range of NHS, Private and Cosmetic Treatments, as well as Facial Aesthetics and Invisalign

It all adds up to a brilliant night of varied entertainment, led by a fabulous Elton sound-alike who’s at the top of his game. The show, starting at 7.30pm, is to be compered by comedian and official cheeky chappie Eddie Devine. CHURCH GROUP OFFERS SUPPORT Winter is a grim time for many families, and although some will have benefited from foodbank supplies over the festive season the long, cold weeks of January can be tough to face without some help. A spokesperson for the group says: “We survive solely on donations from the amazing community of West Dunbartonshire. Only Marks & Spencer's donate food to us, so we often must buy the contents of our bags on a weekly basis.

That’s where the Food for Thought group based in Dumbarton’s St Augustine’s community hall is determined to do its bit to make a difference, providing emergency food aid five days per week.

Food for Thought opens from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday, providing emergency food aid parcels that are designed to last for three days – each bag contains enough for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and toiletries for three.

Inevitably that means asking people to contribute what they can, even in a month when cash is notoriously tight after the festive break – but every donation really does help to make a difference.

There’s also a community lunch on Wednesdays from noon till 2pm, and from 11.30am to 1.30pm on Thursday – which can be particularly welcome at this time of year.

“You can donate both food or money. Unfortunately, we do not have any collection points in large supermarkets, but we do have one in Loch Lomond Craft Centre in Mitchell Way, Crafts for You in Lomond Outlets, The Coffee Station at Dumbarton Central – and you can also drop any donations into the hall.

Coming shortly after news of exciting plans for new museum facilities in Dumbarton there’s now to be a sister venture in Clydebank. A new museum celebrating Clydebank’s history is set to be developed after councillors agreed to invest £625,000 in the project. The plans will see a modern and interactive museum space developed in the basement of Clydebank Central Library to explore the town’s rich industrial heritage as a global centre for sewing machine manufacturing and shipbuilding. The new museum space will enable the town to commemorate the devastating impact of the Clydebank Blitz on the town.

January 2020 | What's Up Doc?

What's Up Doc? with Dr Nick Dunn

This month: BEST FOOT FORWARD… Safer Winter Driving for Spectacles Wearers

Physical inactivity is the greatest public health challenge facing the Western world. A British Medical Journal editorial recently argued that doctors should be more active in trying to address any limiting factors to exercise.

What are the problems associated with winter driving? There are more visual difficulties to deal with when driving in the winter, limited light, glare from low sun and dazzle from headlights at night. Despite this as many as 1in 8 people still don’t wear their spectacles prescribed for driving. Last year this contributed to over 200 accidents including 3 fatalities in the UK alone.

One such condition is plantar fasciitis. Plantar fascia is a band of connective tissue connecting the heel to the small bones near the toes. Repeated “microtrauma” caused by pulling of the fascia from the base of the heel causes pain from the heel to the sole, limiting walking or running.

What can you do to help yourself? • If you have been advised to wear spectacles for driving make sure you wear them, even for short trips. • Keep your windscreen, headlights, and spectacles clean before driving.

• Don’t use sunglasses or tinted spectacles at night to reduce headlight dazzle as this reduces the already limited light making it more difficult to see. • Make sure you can read number plates at 20m.

What can we do to help you? • Regular eye examinations to make sure you are seeing clearly and that your eyes are healthy.

• Road pilot lenses for optimum night driving performance giving increased contrast sensitivity and dramatically reduced reflections • Polarised sunglasses to reduce low at night. sun glare on the road during the day.

commonly affected. It is easy to diagnose, with localised tenderness on the base of the heel. For the most part, doctors often reassure patients, as it will often settle after 12-18 months. However there are some treatments thought to help. These include biomechanical measures such as splints or shoe modifications by Podiatrists, steroid injections, shock wave treatment and occasionally surgery. Unfortunately none of these treatments are especially successful, but even if they help a little, we are encouraged to consider them. So don’t let foot pain stop you exercising – try to get it sorted and put your best foot forward!

DAVE IS BACK ON HOME TURF Lomondside alt.blues troubadour Dave Arcari returns to home territory to play his first show of 2020 at Buchanan Memorial Hall in Milton of Buchanan on Saturday, February 1 (8pm to 11pm). The show is at the venue where Arcari recorded his Live at Memorial Hall album, and will also serve as the local debut of the Dave Arcari signature model guitar from California-based National Reso-Phonic Guitars. This signature guitar, which means a great deal to this fartravelled artiste, was launched at the start of Dave’s summer tour of the USA, and was the fruition of a project which began a year ago.

That was when Arcari made his California debut demonstrating instruments on National ResoPhonic’s booth at the NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show in Anaheim – as well as performing a string of dates in and around Los Angeles. Dave said: “It was exciting to be pulling together the dream guitar, and to do so with a company synonymous with blues music and the development of resonator guitars is both an honour and a privilege.” Arcari has been playing National Reso-Phonic guitars professionally for more than 20 years and has a long-standing relationship with the company. “When I first started playing these guitars in the 1990s I never

OUR GOLD-SCORING SCHOOL Dumbarton’s Braehead Primary School pupils are “over the moon” after their school received a prestigious Gold Award for its outstanding programme of sports. Delighted pupils and staff received the award in recognition of their work to improve the health and wellbeing of pupils through increased participation in PE and sport. Head teacher Anne McFarlane has thanked the dedicated teachers for their role in winning the award, as well as pupils, parents and volunteers for their commitment.

The school has built up a close partnership with external sporting clubs including the Loch Lomond Rugby Club; Harp netball Club; Camanachd Shinty Association; Dumbarton Football Club; Kirktonhill Tennis Club and Dumbarton Golf Club. The sportscotland Gold School Sport Award is a national initiative designed to encourage schools to continuously improve physical education and sport. Chief executive of sportscotland, Stewart Harris, said: “It’s testament to the work of a variety of partners, including thousands of pupils, parents, volunteers and teachers, that we can now say this is a record-

breaking year for the School Sport Award. “Each and everyone involved should be very proud of this fantastic achievement”. “There is an undoubted value in sport being at the heart of school life. With that in mind we are committed to helping build a Scotland where sport is a way of life and young people in schools are central to this.” To achieve a Bronze or Silver sportscotland School Sport Award, schools self-assess their current practice. However, to gain Gold status an extensive external assessment is also carried out by an independent panel of experts.

KIDS AREN’T EXERCISE-SHY AFTER ALL Rumours that kids spend all their time glued to their X-boxes are greatly exaggerated, if recent figures about active school sessions are any guide. Pupils across West Dunbartonshire made 126,000 visits to extracurricular clubs, which is more than 20,000 higher than the previous year. The number of sessions provided before school, at lunchtimes and after-school also grew – by 777, reaching a total of 7,225. An additional 551 children and young people also took part in the activity sessions, with 6,425 different pupils enjoying a wide range of sports and activities, from basketball and netball to dance and tennis.

SEASON This month: PARTY & DRINK DRIVING 'Tis the season to be jolly; also for parties and generally being merry. Unfortunately, this can also mean there is an increase in the number of drink driving cases processed through the courts. In 2014 the legal alcohol limit was reduced from 80mg in every 100ml of blood to 50mg. In practical terms, the amount of alcohol that can be consumed before an individual would be over the legal limit depends on a number of factor, including the person’s gender, current weight, height and even their mental state. The average man would be over the limit on less than a pint of beer and the average

female on around half a pint. It takes around one hour for the body to process a unit of alcohol. The consequences of this are that, depending on the number of drinks you have had, you may still be unfit to drive the next morning. This is often underestimated and where many people find themselves driving illegally. The minimum sentence for driving whilst under the influence of alcohol is a driving ban of at least one year. However, it would be open to the court to also impose an unlimited fine or even a prison sentence. Enjoy the season and make alternative transport arrangments.

Tom Weir's statue

MEAN-SPIRITED WEIR ROBBERS The first meeting of 2020 for Drymen and District Local History Society will feature a fascinating talk about ongoing efforts to learn more about the days when the bleak and remote island was home to a hardy community. How did they survive – and what was local life really like on an island with none of the conveniences of modern life on the mainland? The talk on Thursday, January 23, will be given by Bob Will, concentrating on work carried out by Guard Archaeology. For full information about the Society’s forthcoming meetings visit www.drymen-history.org. uk/programme.html.

The miserable distinction of being one of the shabbiest crimes of last year was surely the theft of funds from the donation posts at Tom Weir’s statue on Loch Lomond. It is of course dwarfed by the generosity of countless visitors to the area, but inevitably security will be tightened to ensure there is no repetition. Bolt cutters were used to trash the padlocks on the donation posts, and cash was taken – although luckily the statue of the famous countryside legend was not itself directly targeted. As far as we know it is the only thing to have marred the public campaign which raised more than £70,000 for both the statue and the picnic area at the Balmaha

Bay site, which reportedly costs some £5,000 per year to maintain. It is both a monument and an iconic attraction, and in months to come will see droves of visitors paying their respects to the man people inevitably associate mainly with his ever-popular Weir’s Way series. For those committed to the site and to the celebration of Tom’s legacy to the area it was a slap in the face, but will hopefully soon be forgotten as the tide of wellwishers makes good the deficit with fresh donations.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE Loch Lomond and the National Park face another crucial year in 2020, with the looming debate over how the site of the failed Flamingo Land holiday complex should be used.

But while that argument continues to rage Friends of Loch Lomond can be expected to continue with its practical programme of Make a Difference Days, which with little publicity helps to keep the area’s greatest natural asset in peak condition. A group of 17 volunteers recently helped to make a difference at the Lauder Monument in Cowal with the removal of rhododendrons and access path improvements. If you or your organisation are interested in taking part in a Make A Difference Day in 2020, email the Friends at info@lochlomondtrossachs.org.uk.

PIPER RODDY IS A CHARITY HERO Robin House in Balloch, run by Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) is one of the area’s favourite causes, and will inspire many charity initiatives in 2020.

The cheerful lunacy of what he had in mind inevitably caught the public imagination, and the money was soon rolling in on his justgiving page... and was still arriving as this issue went to press. His example is surely one of the most impressive efforts on behalf of a charity that many consider literally priceless, providing a service which relies completely on the generosity of the public.

But few are likely to be quite as ambitious as the incredible bid by piper Roddy Garden – which last time we checked had raised more than £3,000.

Heading into a brand new year there are already plenty of fresh fundraising ideas in preparation, either by spirited individuals like Roddy or by groups, clubs or local associations.

His zany objective was to cycle across Loch Long on a bike “for a laugh and for CHAS” – while playing the bagpipes – and has been a stunning success. To complete his bizarre but laudable mission Roddy customised his bike in an ingenious way that allowed him to float the bike and play simultaneously – which only left him with the minor challenge of completing a two mile stretch across the loch. Before making the attempt he said: “I am quite a determined

Piper Roddy Garden

character so I am sure I will make it all the way although I may need some stops to catch my breath”.

CHAS makes it clear that even with superb levels of support there is much more it wants to achieve, and that it can only manage this with relentless activity from the people it relies upon – like Roddy – to make it come true. You can find out more about CHAS and what it does in Balloch and across Scotland by visiting its website at www.chas. org.uk.

PUPILS SEE JOBS OF TOMORROW Just before the end of 2019 scores of local school pupils were given the chance to find out more about local career opportunities by visiting local businesses – and that was just the start. The venture was such a success that organisers Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce (DCC) plan more of the same in 2020, all under the umbrella of the enterprising Building Bridges programme. It’s all very different from the boring career opportunities presentations older readers may remember from their own youth, and gives pupils a vivid impression of the possibilities that could be open to them within fairly easy reach of home.

children to take part in the visits. “The feedback from both schools and the businesses has been really positive and we plan to continue to facilitate a series of visits across the academic year.” Far from being a dull experience the visits included everything from firefighting demonstrations to helicopter underwater escape training at Clydebank-based Clyde Training Solutions.

Aggreko, Glenhead Engineering, West of Scotland Fabrication, Clyde Training Solutions, B-Able Business Services, European Circuits, Cameron House and Terasaki. To find out more about how to get involved with Building Bridges and for support and sponsorship opportunities email skills@ dunbartonshirechamber. co.uk, phone Damon Scott on 0141 280 0272 or visit www.dunbartonshire chamber.co.uk.

Damon Scott, DCC chief executive, said: ”The idea was to inspire the young workforce of the future and to help them build an understanding of the skills needed within the variety of fantastic businesses and industries we have in our area.

BATTLE SET FOR 10K SERIES triumph again and perhaps beat his record time 29 minutes and 32 seconds at the Helensburgh 10k. There is more than £6000 in cash up for grabs for winners, as well as a number of Start Fitness prizes, and race dates are set for the Babcock Helensburgh 10k on Thursday May 7 at 7.30pm; the Babcock Dumbarton 10k on Thursday May 14 at 7.30pm; and the Babcock Shettleston 10k on Sunday May 31 at 10am at Glasgow Green.

A popular series of three 10k running races is likely to be hotly defended by two Scottish female champions this year. The Babcock 10ks take place in May in Helensburgh, Dumbarton and Glasgow Green. Hundreds of runners have already entered, including Katie White, of Garscube Harriers, who won all three races in 2018, and the 2019 winner, Annabel Simpson,

from Fife, who also set a new record time for the Babcock Helensburgh 10k. Katie, of Milngavie, also won the Scottish Half Marathon Championships 2019 as part of the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow.

Other strong competitors expected to race for a win include Fionnuala Ross, of Shettleston Harriers, who set two course records in the Babcock 10k series in 2019, and Elspeth Curran, from Kilbarchan, who enjoyed three top three finishes last year. Defending men’s champion and series record holder Weynay Ghebresilassie will be hoping to

More than 2000 runners are expected to enter, with the fee including a specially designed Babcock 10k Series technical t-shirt from More Mile and an engraved commemorative medal for all finishers, as well as a More Mile goody bag. It’s the fourth year that Babcock will sponsor the 10k series. Babcock’s managing director at HMNB Clyde, Gavin Leckie, said: “We are delighted to be involved in the race series again this year.” To enter, see entrycentral.com.

PHOENIX CHOIR’S BURGH CONCERT

We don’t have the programme for this event yet, but rest assured it will be a characteristically memorable night – featuring a choir which has decided to make Dumbarton its first performance spot of the new year. The group in question is the famous Glasgow Phoenix Choir, which is launching what will be its usual busy new year with a concert in St Peter’s, Bellsmyre (52 Howatshaws Rd, Bellsmyre) on Sunday, January 26 from 2.30pm to 5pm. Further detail on this event – which will on past form be a night to remember - should be available from around now at www.phoenixchoir.org.

GREAT FISHING BAIT FOR 2020 Residents and visitors to Stirling’s river banks in 2020 will be able to cast off with some of the best value salmon fishing in the UK, says the area’s local authority.

Anglers can fish for £200, while young adults aged 12 to 21 can now fish the whole season for just £15. Up to the age of 12 youths are welcome to fish for free with a paying adult on a catch and release basis. The reintroduction of day permits in September and October, and the extension of the youth

NEW LIFE FOR BONHILL ‘TARDIS’

IT IS THE YEAR OF THE ARGYLLS

A vintage police box in Alexandria will be transformed into a hub for hiring bikes after it was transferred to charity The Vale of Leven Trust.

The Museum of the regiment in which countless Burgh men served down through the generations reopens this spring after a £4m refurbishment that will make it one of the country’s premier league visitor attractions. The Museum tells the history of the Regiment from its early formation as the 91st Argyllshire Highlanders and 93rd Sutherland Highlanders to the present day, and is an indispensable resource to anyone with a serious interest in Scottish military history – from the Napoleonic Wars to Korea, the Aden insurgency and Northern Ireland. At the turn of the century the Argylls fought in the Boer wars, and its service in the world wars was second to none, but this new tribute to the regiment’s past will also tell the story of the Argylls’ peace-building achievements on

strife-torn countries where they were sometimes the only hope for law and order. The fascinating exhibits (including oral history) at the new Museum, in Stirling Castle, will bring the story of the regiment and the individuals who served down through the years to an international audience in a way not previously experienced outside Edinburgh. Some of the exhibits on display are truly priceless, and the collection of war art alone will be worth the trip for many interested in this fascinating aspect of Scotland’s rich history.

The mini-landmark has been redundant as a police asset for more than half a century, and unlike Doctor Who’s more versatile police box seemed unlikely to be put to a different use. However now the Trust has taken ownership of the fixture in Main Street, Bonhill, after a successful community asset transfer application. The property ceased being used by police in 1968, before being transferred to the County Council of Dunbartonshire. It had been let to commercial tenants since then, but has been

vacant for more than five years and clearly needs a substantial overhaul before it can be put to further use. However the job is reckoned to be worth the trouble, as it will give the local community a useful facility which is arguably a lot more eyecatching than any mere shed. The Trust now plan to bring the building back up to standard for use before using the building for storing bikes which will be available for members of the public to hire and use along the River Leven’s cycle paths.
